Newspaper Article: John Taylor,
93, of Cogan House, died at 9:30 pm Friday at his home. He was a member
of the Cogan House Christian Church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Clyde
Connelly, Cogan House; four sons, M. L. Taylor, Nisbet; Clyde A., city;
Jesse A. and William, both of Cogan House; 22 grandchildren and 23 great
grandchildren. Mr. Taylor had resided in the Cogan House area nearly 70
years and was a retired farmer. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Hannah
Schick, of Penn Yan, NY; and Mrs. Sarah Ranck, of Gerry, NY. Mr. Taylor
had held most elective and appointive offices in the township during his
residence there. In his early days, he was a Republican, but in recent
years he was an ardent member of the Prohibition party. Services will be
held Monday at 2 pm at the Cogan House Christian Church with the Rev. Lee
Lunger officiating. Interment will be made at the Friends Cemetery, Liberty.
Friends may call at the funeral home, this evening from 7 until 9 o'clock
and Sunday afternoon and evening at the Taylor home, Cogan House.

dies in New York: Frank J. Widemire, 55, well-known local commercial photographer,
died in the Wickersham Hospital at 135 East Fifty-Eighth Street, New York
City, Saturday afternoon, July 7, 1951. Mr. Widemire, a former teacher
in area high schools, was in New York City to attend the convention of
the Professional Photographers of America. On Friday evening he went to
the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel to attend a convention dinner. He collapsed in
the Waldorf lobby and was taken back to his room in the Roosevelt Hotel.
By 3 a.m., Saturday, his condition became so serious that he was transferred
to the Wickersham hospital, where he died at 2:50 p.m. His wife, Mrs. Elsie
Widemire and her daughter, Gladys, who was in business with him, went to
New York Saturday by plane. Mr. Widemire was a member of the Pine Street
Methodist Church, a member of the Muncy Lodge, F. and AM, the Williamsport
Consistory, and the Irem Temple Shrine at Wilkes-Barre. He had planned
to remain in New York City for the Shriners' Convention, which opened there
Saturday. Before he took up commercial photography, Mr. Widemire had taught
13 years in area high schools. He had been principal of Hughesville High
School and had taught in Millheim. He was a graduate of Lock Haven state
Teachers College and of Bucknell University. Surviving in addition to his
wife and daughter, are a brother, William, of Cleveland; two sisters, Mrs.
Minnie Davison, Bradford, and Mrs. Zora Duck, of Woodland. Funeral services
will be held at 2 pm Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. W.
Lynn Crowding, pastor of Pine Street Methodist Church, officiating. Burial
will be in Twin Hills Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home
from 7 to 9 pm Tuesday.

game at Yankee Stadium, Wednesday September 30, 1953. he had been residing
with a son, Herbert, in Hempstead, NY, for several years. He was the son
of William and Magdaline Zimmer. He was part owner and vice president of
the former Penn Street Planing Mill. In addition to his son, Mr. Zimmer
is survived by one sister, Mrs. Emma Deitrick; two brothers, George and
Joseph Zimmer, and two grandchildren, all of Williamsport. Services will
be held Sunday at 2 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Wildwood
