Michael, this city, Mrs. Luther Felker, Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Charles

Services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the funeral home

Newspaper Article: James Edward Martin, 80 died
Thursday evening at 6:45 o'clock in the Williamsport hospital. Mr. Martin
was stricken with a cerebral hemorrhage Thursday morning. Before his retirement
about 20 years ago, Mr. Martin was an employe of the US Railway Mail Services.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Williamsport Consistory as well
as Irem Temple. He was also a member of the Covenant Central Presbyterian
Church. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Charles A. Schreyer, city; and
two granddaughters, Anne M. and Jan Martin Schreyer, city. Funeral services
will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the funeral home with the
Rev. W. A. Morrison, pastor of the Covenant Central Presbyterian Church
officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in East Wildwood
cemetery. |

HOSPITAL: Ralph L Melick, 77 died Monday in the Williamsport hospital following
a long illness. A graduate of the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy in 1893,
Mr. Melick was honored four years ago with a 50-year diploma. After several
years as a pharmacist, he was employed as a railway mail clerk. Mr. Melick
was a member of F. and A.M. Lodge 397, the Williamsport consistory and
the Brotherhood of Railway Mail Clerks. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs.
Ocean Good, Jr., of Jersey Shore; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Shipe, Sunbury;
and two brothers, C. F. Melick, Sunbury, and George of Oregon. Services
will be conducted at the funeral home, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
The Rev. C F Berkheimer, D. D., pastor of Pine Street Methodist Church

evening December 24, 1948 at his home. A retired railroader, he came to
this city from Renovo in 1892. He became head blacksmith of the Williamsport
shops of the Pennsylvania Railroad. He held a life membership in Lodge
No. 106, F and A M. He was a member of the Williamsport Consistory. Surviving
are his wife, Mrs. Bertha Young Milliken; two daughters, Mrs. J. H. Snapp,
of Hagerstown, Md., and Mrs. E. L. Lentz, of this city; two sons, Charles
G., of Akron, O, and Harry L., of this city; 18 grandchildren and 17 great

Newspaper Article: G. Bruce Milnor, former Lycoming
County superintendent of schools and English teacher at the Williamsport
High school, was found dead in his room at the Elks Club this morning.
It had been Mr. Milnor's custom to rise about 8 o'clock. When the maid
reported late this mrning that she had not been able to serve his room,
an effort was made to rouse him.. A local locksmith was called at noon
to open the door, and Mr. Milnor was found dead. A physician said he had
been dead for about eight hours. Mr. Milnor, born in Warrensville was graduate
in 1901 from Lafayette College, where he was a member of Chi Phi fraternity,
served as class president and was editor of "The Lafayette." He was a founder
of the Touchstone. He received his master's degree from Columbia University.
From 1900 to 1903, he served as principal of the Lycoming County Normal
school at Muncy. He served as county superintendent of schools until 1922.
from 1923 until 1937, when he retired. Mr. Milnor was an English teacher
at the Williamsport High School. He was a Mason and a member of the Elks.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Harry Auchenback, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Sidney D. Milnor, of this city is a nephew. |

Newspaper Article: Mrs. Martha A. Mundy, 64
died Saturday afternoon of suffocation and first degree burns suffered
at her home. She was pronounced dead on arrival at the Williamsport hospital,
where she was taken in the Community Ambulance. Dr. Clarence R. Martin,
Lycoming County coroner, investigated. Mrs. Mundy's second floor apartment
was slightly damaged by three fires in the kitchen and one in the bedroom.
The woman was found in the kitchen with the doors locked. Police were called
to the scene when neighbors heard and explosion rip out the windows in
the living room.. Police found the gas burners on in the kitchen range
when they arrived at the scene. Sgt. Harry D. Garman notified fire headquarters
who sent the Community Ambulance, Fire Companies Nos. 2, 3, 4, 6 and Truck
"A. The alarm was sounded at 3:28 pm. Mrs. Mundy was a graduate of the
Mississippi State College and the Tennessee College for women. She taught
school in Mississippi prior to coming to Williamsport. Mrs. Mundy is the
widow of H. Fred Mundy, and is survived by one son, Harry F. Mundy, at
home and a sister, Mrs. R. W. Trotter, of Bolton, Miss, where burial services
will be held. |

Newspaper Article: Mrs. J. Clyde Overdurf, wife
of J. Clyde Overdurf, died in the Williamsport hospital late Tuesday night
after a long illness. She was 65. Mrs. Overdurf was a member of the Church
of the Annunciation. Surviving besides her husband, are four sons, J. Clyde
Overdurf, Jr., Thomas, Raymond and Anthony all of this city, and four sisters,
Mrs. Margaret Doney, Philadelphia; Mrs. A. C. Dale, Ithaca, NY; Mrs. Frances
Wheeler, Canton; Mrs. Frank Miller, Ford, NJ. Services will be at 9:30
am Friday in the Church of the Annunciation. Burial will be in Wildwood
cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 tonight. |
