Newspaper Article: Mrs. Bessie Rowe Neal died at her home at Marsh Hill Wednesday night at 11:40 o'clock. Mrs. Neal was born in England 83 years ago. She had lived at Marsh Hill for many years and was a member of the Methodist Church there. Surviving are two sons, Richard James and S. Arthur Neal, at home; three sisters, Miss Mary A. Rowe, this city; Mrs. Sally Dawe England; and Mrs. Joseph Richards, Butte, Mont.; also two brothers, John Rowe, Rupert, Idaho; and Thomas Rowe, Battle Creek, Mich.; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the home tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Adam Sommers, of Ralston, will officiate. Interment will be made at Ralston Cemetery. |

Newspaper Article: George E Orwig, 53 years old died Tuesday in his home. For 20 years Mr. Orwig had been associated with the Reese-Sheriff Lumber Co, inc. He was a junior partner in the firm. Before his death he had been employed as a state auditor, working from the auditor-general's office in Harrisburg. He also served as an investigator for the Talbot relief fund last year for the county commissioner's office. When he was a young man, Mr. Orwig worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad and later was connected with the Baldwin Locomotive Works at Lewistown. He was born at Milmont, Union county, but had lived here for 25 years. He was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, where he was a member of Dr. A.M. Weaver's Bible Class. He also belonged to Masonic bodies, including the Williamsport consistory and Blue Lodge No. 397, F. and A.M.; Baldwin II Commandery No. 22, Knights Templar; the Howard Club, and Irem Temple, A.A.O.N.M.S. He leaves his wife; three sons; G. Myron and Donald B. of this city and Edward s. at home; two sisters, Mrs. William Rule of this city and Mrs. Ida M. Hartman, of Lewistown. Services were held Friday in the Bastian-Maneval funeral home with burial in Wildwood cemetery. |

Newspaper Article: TRAIN DISPATCHER IS STRICKEN AT HIS WORK: Wilmer Pettingill of Elmira, who had been working in the Williamsport office of the Pennsylvania railroad as train dispatcher, died suddenly in the office about 2 o'clock Monday morning. Mr. Pettingill reported for work at midnight Sunday and about 1:50 o'clock stated he felt ill. A physician was called, but before he arrived Mr. Pettingill expired. A heart condition and acute indigestion are believed to have caused his death. Mr. Pettingill was transferred to the local office in May 1932. His family lives in Elmira and the body was taken there for funeral services and burial. |

Newspaper Article: Lyman A. Pray, 65 year old
died Monday at his home. For the last 25 years Mr. Pray had been engaged
in the insurance business and for many years had been district representative
for his companies with offices here. Before becoming active in the insurance
business, Mr. Pray had been associated with the Edison Electric Company
which later was supplanted by the Pennsylvania Power and Light Company.
Mr. Pray was born in this city and had lived here all his life. He was
identified with various community projects during his lifetime and had
been active in Community Chest work. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal
Church and have been a vestryman for 18 years. He also was a member of
the Williamsport Country Club. He leaves his wife, Emily Eaton Pray; two
daughters, Mrs. Stuart M. Smith and Mrs. Albert Baker, of Chicago; two
sons, James A. of Rochester and Robert C. of this city and two sister,
Mrs. John B. Otto of this city. And Mrs. John H Caldwell of Moore, PA.
Services were held Wednesday at Trinity Episcopal Church with burial in
Wildwood.
2nd article: THIRD STROKE IN PAST WEEK FATAL TO LYMAN A. PRAY: Lymon A. Pray died this morning at 11:45 o'clock at his home following a week's illness. Mr. Pray had suffered three strokes within thae past week. He is survived by his wife, Emily Eaton Pray; by two daughters, Mrs. Stuart M. Smith and Mrs. Albert Baker of Chicago; and by two sons, James A. Pray of Rochester, NY and Robert C. Pray of 1190 Park Avenue this city. James A. Pray had been called here because of his father's illness and had returned to his home yesterday when there was a slight improvement in Mr. Pray's condition. H was called back to this city today. Two sisters, Mrs. John B. Otto of this city and Mrs. John H. Caldwell of Moore, PA and five grandchildren also survive. |
