Introduction by Joyce M. Tice - This collection of photographs of
the members of the West Granville Grange at Windfall is an amazing representation
of the population of that area in the first decade of the twentieth century.
We are very grateful to the Farmers Museum at Troy for making them available
to us and to Janet PETERS Ordway for scanning them and sending them in
to us. We are very interested in learning more about these people, so if
you have additional information, send it in. Janet researched a bit on
the site and found most of these folks in the Windfall Cemetery, so we
have dates for many of them. The whole community of a century ago is here
showing their faces for us to see. What an incredible gift they left for
us when they implemented this photo project. How surprised they would all
be to know that these wonderful photos can now be seen from any place in
the world.
NOTE: Many of the women are identified by married aliases only.
If you know their own full names, please inform us. Reference the page
on which you found the photo so I can add the woman's name to it. Also,
some of the men are identified only by initials, If you know their full

Joyce,
Boy, I've just spent the last hour trying to verify
my information before I sent you a note and I think I'm correct on the
info.
On the photos for the West Granville Grange it lists Effie Shepard Duart,
wife of J.W. Duart. Effie was actually a Bunyan. If you go
to the William Bunyan History on the Memories Along the North Branch, you
will see that Effie was one of eleven children born to William and Rosetta
Marie Fitzgerald Bunyan.
I'm working on the Duart Family from time to time and hope to get it
written up eventually.

It also spurred me on to find John Wesley
Duart's pension file that I had requested ages ago to see what I can find
out about his wife, Effie. Effie is definitely a Bunyan. I
have the Bunyan History, John's pension files that have sworn affidavits
and a couple of people who knew Effie, confirm she was a Bunyan and not
a Shepard.
