Ralph W. Kaltenbach, 102, of Stony Fork Road, Wellsboro, died March 27, 2008 at
Broad Acres Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Leone Kaltenbach; a son, Lee Kaltenbach of
Wellsboro; a daughter, Luan Paden of Aberdeen, N.C.; and a sister, Elouise
Sloane of New Canaan, Conn. A life celebration will be held from 10:30-11
a.m. Saturday, March 29 at Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, 139 Main St., Wellsboro.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 29 at the funeral home, with
Rev. Jeffrey McCleary officiating. Burial will be in Tioga County

KECK - Dennis W. Keck, 53, of Memorial Gardens Road, Wellsboro, died Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital. He was born June 23, 1956, in Tulsa, Okla., the son of Wallace E. Keck and the late Dorothy J. Pennington Keck. Dennis was a self-employed carpenter who enjoyed softball, golfing and hunting. He loved his family and the times he spent with them. Surviving are his father, Wallace E. Keck of Wellsboro; sons, Jess D. Keck and Brandon F. Keck, both of Wellsboro; daughter, Leanne M. (Richard) McIntyre of Middlebury; grandchildren, Kelsi Keck, Makayla Keck, Devon McIntyre, Makenna McIntyre; brothers, Darrel Keck of Arkansas, Doug Keck and Darren Keck, both of Wellsboro. KEISTER Harold L.
Age 79, of Wetmore Street, Wellsboro, PA, died June 1, 2007 at Robert Packer
Hospital, Sayre, PA. He was the husband of Emma G. Mosher Keister, whom he
married October 24, 1948 in Wellsboro. Harold was born June 23, 1927, the son of
the late Palmer and Mabel Derr Keister. He was retired from Corning Glass Works
after thirty-nine years service. Surviving are his wife, Emma; sons, Fred
(Gloria "Jean") Keister, Lawrenceville, PA, and Mike (Cindy) Keister, Wellsboro,
PA; daughter, Mary (Harold) Benjamin, Addison, NY, nine grandchildren,
twenty-four great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; brother, John
(Jennifer) Newcomer, South Williamsport, PA; sister, Barb (Ben) Freeman, Kansas
City, MO; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers and two

KELLY – Doris E. Boyce, 71, of Whitneyville Road, Wellsboro, died Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at Troy Community Hospital. She was the wife of Richard M. Boyce whom she married Jan. 10, 1953 in Corning, NY. Doris was born Sept. 8, 1934 in Wellsboro, the daughter of the late Charles F. and Leah Gerow Kelly. She was a 1952 graduate of Charleston High school, a homemaker and mother, and quality inspector for Mergenthaler Linofilm for over 28 years. She had an active role in the High School League American Legion Baseball, Chapter 60, Women of the Moose, Chairman of Planning Commission for Charleston Township for over 30 years, and served eight years on the Wellsboro Area School District School Board. She is survived by husband, Dick; son, Scot (Pam) Boyce Sr. of Wellsboro; daughters, Sheila (Tom) Hager, Pam (Michael) English, both of Wellsboro; six grandchildren, Tina, Richard, Scot Jr., Brad, Chad, Hailey, and nine great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, James L. Boyce in 1986 and a grandson, J.R. in 1996. KELSEY –LENA M. SHORT, 86, of Morris Run died February 16, 2002 at St. Joseph Hospital, Elmira, N.Y. Born March 3, 1915 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Doris Marble Kelsey. She was a homemaker and member of the Calvary Mennonite Church, Morris Run. KELTZ Lynn
Age 58, of Troy, PA, died and Savior on Saturday, May 24, 2008, at his home
surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with cancer. He was the
husband of Janette (Kenyon) Keltz, with whom he celebrated 37 years of marriage
on May 1st. Lynn was born on May 12, 1950, a son of Harold "Pete" and Marjorie
(Wood) Keltz. Lynn graduated from Canton High School in 1968. He had been an
employee of GTE Sylvania in Towanda, PA. Lynn's favorite pastimes were hunting,
fishing, woodworking, and collecting WWII German memorabilia. Lynn is survived
by his wife, Janette; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lynn Jr. and Alice Keltz of
AUE, Theron M. and Jennifer Keltz of Troy, PA; six grandchildren, Warren Long,
Zane Long, Brittany Keltz, Kayla Keltz, Marriah Keltz, Jessika Buckley; two
brothers and sisters-in-law, Dale A. (Lola) Keltz of Canton, PA, his twin
brother, Larry (Ronda) Keltz of Bartlett, TN. Lynn was preceded in death by his

KENNEDY –EDNA M. CHAMBERLAIN, age 95 of Horseheads, NY went to be in the arms of her Lord on Friday, Sept. 18, 1998 at the Elcor Nursing Facility. Edna was born in Wellsboro, PA on March 25, 1903 to the late Fred and Bertha (Munson) Kennedy. Survivors include her children, Glen B. Campbell and his friend Betty J. Cross both of Wellsboro, PA, Russell r. (Bev) Campbell of Arnot, PA, Carolyn (Robert) O’Connell of Corning, NY, Leon (Sandra) Love of Horseheads, NY; 18 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren also many great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Edna was a member of the Fountain of Life Church in Big Flats as well as a member of the Woman of the Moose Chapter #60 in Wellsboro, PA. Mrs. Gladys I. Shelman, 83, of RD#1, Box 154, Tioga, died Thursday, Jan. 21, at
the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital in Wellsboro. Born June 24, 1904 in
Rutland Township, she was the daughter of Raymond and Grace VanNess Kennedy. She
and her husband, Manley B. Shelman, celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary
Aug. 24, 1987. Surviving, besides her husband, are four sons, Max of Palmdale,
Calif., Carl and Jack, both of Covington and Merle and Lawrenceville; five
daughters, Mrs. Grace Carl of Painted Post, NY, Mrs. Margaret Dolley of Corning,
NY, Mrs. Geraldine Johnson and Mrs. Lila Patterson, both of Tioga and Mrs. Hazel
Paula of Bradenton, Fla; two brothers, Gerald and Donald Kennedy, both of
Roseville; 29 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and eight
great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held at the Scureman Funeral
Home, 130 South Main St., Mansfield, Sunday, Jan. 23. The Rev. Eugene A.

September 20, 1950 in Wellsboro, PA, a daughter of Robert E. "Bob" and Doris
Janette (Baker) Keltz [should be Kenyon]. She was the wife of the late Lynn R.
Keltz, Sr., who diedMay 24, 2008. Janette and Lynn celebrated their 37th wedding
anniversary on May 1, 2008. Janette graduated from Mansfield High School in 1968
and had been employed by American Silk Label. She enjoyed her family,
crocheting, sewing, reading, puzzles, selling Tupperware, working in her green
house, and selling flowers. Janette is survived by one son and daughter-in-law,
Theron M. and Jennifer Keltz of Troy, PA; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia E.
and Jim Buckley of Troy, PA; a stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Lynn and Alice

1927 in Royal Oak Twp., NY, a daughter of John R. and Sarah (Neal) Kenyon. She
was the wife of the late Gordon L. Beals. She retired from Mansfield
University's Housekeeping Dept. Laura loved her grandchildren, oil painting,
crocheting, and water color painting. Laura is survived by two sons and

Aletha - Aletha King Davis, born on July 13, 1923, in Knoxville, PA,
peacefully passed away on Saturday, November 3, in Greensboro, NC, at the
age of 95. Born into a Pennsylvania farm family, Aletha was a loving mother
and caregiver, as well as an avid bird enthusiast, gardener, camper, music
lover and family historian. While living in Wellsboro, PA, she worked for 20
years in sales at Sears & Roebuck, while raising daughter, Brenda, and son,
Gregory. Aletha was preceded in death by her loving husband, Neil G. Davis,
brother Cecil King and sister Gertrude K. Elliott. She is survived by her
two children, Brenda Stevens of Jamestown, NC, and Gregory Davis of San Tan
Valley, AZ, as well as many members of her extended family, including James
Stevens and Marlene Davis, spouses of her children; grandchildren, Trent
Stevens, Kelly Childs, Andrew Stevens, Bret Davis, Jennifer Taylor and Jill

Elizabeth C. - Elizabeth C. "Betty" Jenkins, 92, of Westfield passed away on
Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018 at the Green Home in Wellsboro. Born Nov. 12, 1925,
she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Martha VanZile Kirkum. Betty
worked in Bath, N.Y. and retired from the Electric Cord after 10 years of
service. She also worked at the bakery in Elkland, mowed lawns and cleaned
houses. Betty is survived by a daughter, Dorothy Burnside of Pine City,
N.Y.; her son, Duane and Jenny Stocum of Wellsboro; a sister, Zalvine Didas
of Hornell, N.Y.; step-daughter, Alberta Potter of Cameron, N.Y.; her
ex-husband, Leonard Stocum of Osceola; 12 grandchildren and many

KNAPP Alfred H.
Age 90, formerly of Arnot Road, Wellsboro, PA, died March 4, 2009 at home. He
was the husband of Roberta J. Wood Knapp whom he married July 12, 1941. Alfred
was born October 5, 1918 in Wellsboro, PA, the son of the late John and Mittie
Hartman Knapp. He was a farmer and retired employee for Wellsboro Borough.

KNOWLTON - Harold A. “Harry” “Beano” Knowlton, 70, of Mansfield, died Saturday, April 7, 2007 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro. Harold was born March 19, 1937 in Tioga County, a son of Richard and Dorothea (Rose) Knowlton. Beano was employed by North Penn Gas Co. for 30 years. He was a member of the Mansfield VFW and the North American Hunting Club. He served in the United States Marine Corps. Beano enjoyed his family and hanging out with his pals and coffee buddies. Beano is survived by two sons, Rob Knowlton of Mansfield, Lonny Knowlton of Rehoboth Beach, Del.; daughter, Tammy Knowlton of Virginia Beach, Va.; five grandchildren, Ryan, Daniel, Paige, Hali, Schuyler; a special companion, Linda Wheeler of Whitneyville; brother and sister-in-law, David (Rosa) Knowlton of Mansfield; sister and brother-in-law, Patricia (Carl) Loud of Mouresville, NC. KRINER James A. Of Wellsboro, PA Age 82 of RR 7, Wellsboro, PA, died August 5, 2000 at Broad Acres Nursing Home, Wellsboro, PA. He was the husband of the late Anna Belle Peoples Kriner who died January 16, 1998. He was born April 1, 1918 in Delmar Township, the son of the late Perley and Mildred Henry Kriner. He was a milk tester and electrician for Borden, Inc., Wellsboro, PA for over 40 years and was a guide at the former Black Bear Hunting Reserve and VanVliet's Hunting Reserve for many years. He was a caretaker for many homes on Lundquist Hill, Delmar Township and he also mowed a number of grass areas and lawns around the Nessmuk Lake Area. He was a member of the Dexter Baptist Church and a Navy Veteran serving in World Warr II, U.S.S. San Diego, Pacific Theatre. Surviving are daughters and son-in-law, Barbara K. Stager of Fremont, OH and Ruth and Gary Henry of East Helena, Montana; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lyle and Marjorie Kriner of Morris, PA, Basil Kriner of Lapine, Oregon, Charles and Bessie Kriner of Wellsboro, PA and Allen Kriner of Wellsboro, PA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy and George Blackburn of Glendora, CA and Linda and Russell Hansen of Juneau, Alaska; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Leon E. Kriner, 80 years of age of RD 5, Wellsboro, died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 1987
at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital. He was born June 26, 1907 In
Delmar Twp., the son of Charles and Roxie Simmons Kriner. Mr. Kriner was a
retired miner and retired employee of PennDOT. Surviving are his wife Marian Guy
Krlner; two daughters, Mrs. Mary May Gottsschall, Morris and Mrs. Carol
Phillips, Rochester, N.Y.; a son, Dale L. RD 5, Wellsboro; a sister Mrs. Roxie
Tomb, Jersey Shore, 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, several nieces and

Wellsboro Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Funeral services will be held there Friday

LADD - ARCHIE WILLIAM LADD JR.
A. William Ladd Jr., 79, of RD 3, Box 245, Wellsboro, died Friday, April 10,
1992, at home. Born Oct. 24, 1912, in Elmira, N.Y., he was the son of
Archie William and Lillian Sara Harris Ladd. He has lived in Wellsboro for 30
years. He was a graduate of South Side High School, Elmira, N.Y. He worked
on the Pennsylvania Railroad for 25 years as a brakeman, flagman and conductor.
He also worked in the maintenance department at Mansfield University for five
years. He was a life member and president from 1984 to 1988, of the Tioga County
Historical Society and held membership in many historical and genealogical
societies throughout his life. He was a U.S. Navy aircraft, mechanic in
World War II. Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Rhoda English Ladd; one
daughter and son-in-law, Jacquelyn L. and David T. Ricker, of Payson, Ariz.; two
sons and daughters-in-law. William E. and Mary S. Ladd, of Horseheads, N.Y., and
Gary A. and Vivian J. Ladd, of Whitmore Lake, Mich.; one stepdaughter and
stepson-in-law, Vera F. and Harry Rounds, of Harrison Valley; one stepdaughter,
Donna F. White, of Dickson, 111.; one sister and brother-in-law, Eunice and
James Jenkins, of Sarasota, Fla.; one brother and sister-in-law, Richard and
Esther Ladd, of Lake Placid, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; 13
greatgrandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours
were held at the Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home Inc., Wellsboro, on Monday, April
13. Services were held following calling hours. The Rev. Rudolph J.
VanderHeil, of Mansfield, officiated. Burial was made at Tioga County
Memorial Gardens, Charleston Township. The family provided the flowers.

Richard L. Age 67, formerly of Ulster, PA diedJuly 13, 2001 in St. Petersburg,
FL. Born July 24, 1933 in Elmira, NY the son of Raymond L. and Lonnelle Walker
Lain. He worked in Vandevort Mills in Wysox, PA for twenty years as a laborer.
He married his wife, Geraldine Miller Seymour Lain in December 31, 1971. He is
survived by his wife, Geraldine, of St. Petersburg, FL and a sister, Joan
Russell of Umatilla, FL. A Memorial service will be held Saturday August 25,
2001 at 6:00 PM at the Lowery Funeral Home, 225 South Main St., Athens, PA with
Rev. Harry Ferguson officiating. Burial will be in the Tioga Point Cemetery,

former Fire Chief for Lawrenceville Fired Dept., member of the IOOF, was an
avid woodworker, gardener and sportsman. He was an Honorable Discharged
Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife, Florence, son

Andrew Jackson LaPoint, 56, of Middlebury Center RD 2 died Thursday in Soldiers
and Sailors Memorial Hospital following ill health. He was born Sept. 19, 1915
in Middlebury Township, the son of Irvin and Alice Appleby LaPoint. He was
employed by the Wellsboro Plant of Corning Glass Works and was an Air Force
veteran of World War Two. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; a daughter, Mrs.
Brenda Thomas of Middlebury Center; four sons, Lynn, Larry and Gregory of
Middlebury Center and Keith of Little Marsh; two sisters, Mrs. Mazie Freeman of
Elkland and Mrs. Clella Keeler of Jersey Shore; two brothers, Ralph LaPoint of
Blossburg and Leon LaPoint of Barton, NY.; and twelve grandchildren. Funeral
services were held on Sunday afternoon with the Rev. Kermit Shrawder
officiating. Burial was in Tioga Cty Memorial Gardens.

age 86, formerly of Mansfield, PA, died on Monday, January 10, 2011 in the Green Home, Wellsboro, PA. Audrey was born on January 3, 1925 in Barbados, West Indies, the daughter of Gordon and Beatrice (Teodorini) Lashley. She was predeceased by her husband, John F. Wise in 1988. Prior to her retirement, Audrey was employed by Fish's Shoe Store in Mansfield, PA, and Carole Smith's Hallmark Store. She was a member of Holy Child Catholic Church and enjoyed caring for and spending time with her grandchildren. Audrey is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, John F. "Jack" and Ellen Wise and Richard W. Wise both of Mansfield, PA; one daughter and son-in-law, Audrey "Ann" and Robert Mocarski of Mansfield, PA; seven grandchildren: Joy Cummings, Melissa Cowles, Katherine Wise, Jon Mocarski, Beth Mocarski, Kristen D'Angelo and Sarah Englehart and 6 great grandchildren: Samuel, Owen and Robyn Cummings, Danica Mocarski, Talon D'Angelo and Ryan Englehart. homemaker. She was a member of the Covington Baptist Church.. Beverly is

LAWSON –MARGARET J. ADAMS, 74, a resident of Morris Run, PA for 49 years, died August 5, 1995 at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, PA. Mrs. Adams was born in Morris Run, Aug. 25, 1920, the daughter of Robert and Elizabeth Lewis Lawson. She was a member of the Morris Mennonite Church and the Blossburg Baptist Church. She retired from the former J.P. Ward Foundry, Blossburg in 1985 having been employed for 28 years. Very important to Margaret were her family, the Wednesday Evening Bible Study and her flower garden. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Lawrence Adams, Morris Run; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Rose Adams, Pine City, NY; son, Robert Adams, Gillett; daughter Cheryl Adams, State College, PA; grandchildren Gerald Adams Sharri Sincock, Tina Anthony, Tammy Adams, Michelle Makowise, Tracey Adams and Brigit Adams; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth John Michael and Jason Sincock, Steven and Amanda Adams, Matthew Adams and Sara Eaton; very special cousin, Marion Lamberson; Morris Run. Donald E. - Donald E. Leach age 88 of Westfield passed away on Monday, April
9, 2018 at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital in Wellsboro. Born
November 7, 1929 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Charles and
Temperance (Becraft) Leach. He married Aileen (Balch) on April 22, 1961 and
they shared 50 years together until her passing on January 2, 2012. Don
served in the US Army for 22 years and was an LPN for Soldiers and Sailors
Hospital. He was a member of the Peoples Church of Potter Brook and the
Tioga County Railroad Association and volunteered for the Sabinsville
Ambulance. Don enjoyed model trains, southern gospel music and gardening his
flower beds. He is survived by his children, Richard “Rick” (Fran) Leach of
Osceola and Nancy (James) Phillips of Victor, NY; his grandchildren, David
Graham, Stephen Graham and Christopher Leach and several nieces, nephews and
cousins. Family will receive friends at the Peoples Church of Potter Brook,
62 Route 49, Westfield on Friday, 12:00 – 2:00 PM. A funeral service and
military honors will be held immediately following at 2:00 PM with Pastor E.

LYLE GERALD LEACH, 68, Knoxville, died May 14, 1996, at Broad Acres Nursing Home, Wellsboro. Born July 18, 1927, in Crooked Creek, he was the son of Raymond and Odessa Borden Leach. Mr. Leach was a veteran of the US Army and the US Air Force; retired after 45 years of driving tractor trailers. Rose S. Shaw, 80, of Pinnacle Towers, Wellsboro, died Thursday, July 13,
2000, at Broad Acres Health and Rehabilitation Center, Wellsboro. Born April
4, 1920, on the Queen Mary, she was the daughter of David J. and Ann
Fonta’ne Lead. She was a domestic aid and member of the World Wide Church of
God, Corning, NY. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross. Surviving
is a granddaughter, Cherry Behrmann of Wastontown. There was no visitation.
Burial will be made at Tioga County Memorial Gardens at the convenience of

15, of State Road, Middlebury Center, died Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, as the result of an asthma attack. Kyle just completed the ninth grade at Wellsboro Senior High School and was an avid basketball player. Died Sunday, November 22, 2009. She w as predeceased by her husband, Paul;
brothers, John Reid Lewis, Ernest Lewis; sister-in-law, Georgina Lewis; and
grandson, Tim Rieppel. She was born March 13, 1917, the only daughter of John D.
and Mabel (Snover) Lewis. Lena was a retired kindergarten teacher, well known
for her Zoo! She had animals who belonged to her classes and went to school with
her at Charlotte Lappla in Wellsboro. She and Paul enjoyed many years traveling,
camping, and spending time with all their children, grandchildren and
great-grandkids before his death in 2007. She is survived by five children: two
sons and three daughters, Barbara and Bird York, Charlotte, and Roger Smith,
John and Eileen Rieppel, Dan and Jackie Rieppel, all of Mansfield, PA; a
God-daughter, Christine Lewis of Oakland, CA; 20 grandchildren, 33
great-grandchildren; and her very own special angel on earth, daughter, Carolyn
Barrows and husband, Jay of Wellsboro, PA; plus all the other angels who helped
her so well in the last several years. Lena was well known for her painting and
her enthusiasm for the County Fair. She was a 4-H leader and author of the
photography and art exhibits at the fair. She was an avid supporter for art in

Ralph F. Age 67, of Catlin Hollow Rd. Wellsboro, Pa, died suddenly December 27,
2003 at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, Pa. He was the husband of Geraldine O.
Learn whom he married July 14, 1961 in Marsh Creek, Pa. Ralph was born November
19, 1936 in Charleston Township, the son of the late Farrand and Kathryn Dean
Lewis. He was employed at Dresser- Rand in the shipping department, retiring in
1999, and was also involved in beef farming and operated a milk route with his
brother, Dean. Ralph was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving from 1959 to 1961.
Surviving are his wife; daughters and sons-in-law, Susan (Mitch) Campbell,
Wellsboro, Pa, Shelley ( Ronald) Wilkey, State Center, IA, and Sherry ( Brent)

LINTON, Eugene Taylor - Eugene “Sam” Taylor Linton, 90, of Wellsboro, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Olga (Oswald) Linton whom he married September 4, 1948; they shared 68 years of marriage together. About marriage, Sam said, “Forget the big things, it is the little things that count, and then the big things, will take care of themselves.” And Olga said, ‘Don’t expect perfection all at once, because it takes time to build a lasting relationship.” Sam was born on September 1, 1926 in Woodlawn, Maryland, the son of the late William B. and Susan A. (Rice) Linton. He graduated from Warwick High School. Sam spent three years making drive shafts in Pottstown for $0.39 an hour. Sam was a US Marine, who served his country from 1944-1948, during World War II. His ship, the USS Pennsylvania, was torpedoed out from under him and he spent the last year of service in China. He moved to Tioga County to farm in 1954. He farmed, had a milk-can route, worked at Dresser and also part-time at the post office. In 1965, he landed full-time employment at Wellsboro Post Office, and in 1981 became Postmaster in Hughesville. He retired in 1985. Sam was a member of the Pine Creek Valley United Methodist Church; he was very active at his church and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He loved spending time with the children. Sam was a member of the American Legion Post #35, Hughesville, PA; American Postal Workers Union; Rotary Club of Hughesville, PA. He loved to fly fish, do woodworking, ride his motorcycle; he had a knack for hunting, fishing and sharp-shooting. He was prominent in setting up insurance and retirement benefits for local Postmasters Union. Surviving in addition to his wife, Olga are his sons, Duane Linton of Vivian, LA and Daniel (Patricia) Linton of Galeton, PA; daughter, Roberta (Dean) Heggenstaller, Wellsboro, PA; grandchildren, Kelly, Amanda, Amy, Steve (Lisa), Kathy (Jason), Charity, Chaste, Anthony; great-grandchildren, Kelie, Jason, Jacob (Jessie), Joshua (Joslyn), Justin (Christine); great great-grandchildren, Cambrea, Charlotte, Kadence, Michael, Lylah, Aubrey, Jace; numerous nieces and nephews. Faye L., 79, of Crystal Lake, IL, died peacefully on Friday, June 1, 2007, at
Northern Illinois Medical Center, McHenry, IL. She was born June 2, 1927 in
Millville, PA to Clarence and Mary Litterer. She graduated from beauty school in
Wilkes-Barre, PA and moved to Wellsboro in 1948. Until 2000 she was the
proprietor of Faye Parker Beauty Shop, Sherman St., Wellsboro. She was a member
of the First Baptist Church of Wellsboro, where she served as a deaconess and
sang alto in the choir. In 2003, she moved to Sunrise Assisted Living of Crystal
Lake, IL where she resided until her death. She loved being outdoors, vegetable
gardening, making peanut butter fudge, and spending time with her family and
friends. Most of all, she was an avid music lover and had a beautiful singing
voice. She is survived by two children, Carol P. Murphy (Neil) of Algonquin, IL
and Timothy B. Parker of Wallkill, NY; two grandchildren, Mary Lou Rogers (Tom)
of Marengo, IL and Ryan C. Murphy of Carbondale, IL; five great-grandchildren; a
brother, Glen Litterer (Jane) of Millville, PA; and many nieces and nephews. She
was preceded in death by her parents, and by Charles B. Parker, her beloved
husband of 44 years. During their lives together, Faye and Chuck enjoyed
snowmobiling, camping and time spent at "The Hill". A memorial service will be
held on Saturday, June 30 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, 25 Central
Ave., Wellsboro. Interment will be in Tioga County Memorial Gardens, Wellsboro.

Wellsboro, PA: Loren H. Locey, age 76, of Hastings Street, Wellsboro, PA, died June 24, 2011 at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Marlene Johnson Locey who died November 9, 2006. Loren was born August 16, 1934 in Charleston Township, PA, the son of the late Floyd and Elizabeth Irwin Locey. He was a graduate of the Charleston School and Post Master for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1992. Loren attended the First Baptist Church and was a member of the Wellsboro Moose Lodge and Canyon Country Camping Club. Loren was an avid golfer and enjoyed camping. He was a wonderful Father and enjoyed his Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Tioga County, died Friday, May 17, 2002. Born Jan. 2, 1911, in Canoe Camp, she
was the daughter of Leslie and Cora Gorton Lockwood. She was a 1926 graduate of
Mansfield High School. On July 3, 1928, Clare married Walter Harrington.
Together, they raised one son, Wayne and a foster daughter Anna May Downs. Clare
was a member of the Whitneyville United Methodist Church. Preceding her in death
were her husband, Walter, in 1988; two sisters, Althea Helton and Sharlee
Heatley and a brother, Bert Lockwood. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law,

Tragic Two Car Accident Easter Sunday Claims Lives Of Three: Three persons
were killed - including a month-old baby - in a two-car head-on accident
that occurred at 7 Sunday night on Route 15, two and a half miles north of
Trout Run. Killed was Mrs. Laura Clark, 31, of Wellsboro RD 3, her son
William, and the driver of the other car involved, Lewis Price, 22, of
Washington, D.C. Dr. Earl R. Miller said all three died of brain damage as
the result of fracture skulls. Their deaths raised the toll to nine so far
this year. No inquest will be held, Dr. Miller said. In critical condition
as a result of the accident is Mr. Price's wife, Theresa Price, 22, who is
in the Williamsport Hospital intensive care unit. Also injured was Mrs.
Clark's husband, Welford, 33, the driver, who is reported in fair condition
at the same hospital. He suffered shoulder, mouth and facial injuries.
Clark's son, Thomas, 7, was taken to Geisinger Medical Center from the
Williamsport Hospital and underwent surgery for head injuries upon his
arrival. He was taken to Geisinger hospital in the Trout Run ambulance
shortly after arriving in the hospital emergency room. Another son, Allen
Clark, 8, was treated for minor injuries and released. Mrs. Clark was
pronounced dead on arrive at the hospital while her son died 15 minutes
later - at 8 p.m. - in the emergency room. Mr. Price was first treated at
the hospital and moved to the intensive care unit with his wife but at 11:30
p.m., when his condition worsened, he was rushed to Geisinger in the South
Williamsport ambulance. He died at 3:30 a.m. Monday. Trooper, Carl S.
Harnish, of the Montoursville Barracks, said Clark was driving his 1964
model car north and Price was southbound when the two cars collided head-on.
The accident occurred on the new two-lane road that was opened to traffic
late last fall. Route 15 will eventually be four lanes there. The officer
said the accident occurred 300 feet south of a curve in the road. The cars
collided in the northbound lane of traffic. A relative of the Clark family
said they had spent Easter in Williamsport and were turning home when the
accident occurred. A daughter of the Clark family, who also visited in
Williamsport, remained there and was not in the car at the time of the
accident. Damage was set at $800 to the demolished 1964 model Clark car and
$1,500 to the foreign make car driven by Price.

one month old son, and a young husband were injured fatally Sunday night in a

other persons were injured. Mrs. Laura H. Clark, 31, and her infant son William
of Wellsboro RD 3, were dead on arrival at Williamsport Hospital. Lewis Price,
22, of Washington, D.C., died today, eight hours after the crash, at the
Geisinger Medical Center at Danville. Welford Clark, 31, husband of the dead
woman and a son Thomas, 7, were in Williamsport Hospital as was Mrs. Theresa
Price, 20, wife of the dead man. Allen Clark, 8, another son of Clark, was in
the Geisinger Center. State Trooper Carl Harnish of the state police Troop F
headquarters at Montoursville, who investigated the accident, said the Price car
skidded on a curve and crashed head-on against the Clark auto.

M. – Mrs. Vauleda M. Westphal, 73, wife of Jack L. Westphal, of Wellsboro RD
7, died at 4:45 a.m., Monday, Aug. 19, 1985, in Soldiers & Sailors Memorial
Hospital, Wellsboro. Born Sept. 13, 1911, at Germania, she was a daughter of
Alfred and Stella Atkins Lorenz. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran
Church. Mrs. Westphal also was a member of the Wellsboro Art Club.
Surviving, besides her husband, are three daughters, Mrs. Beverly Boyce, of
Doylestown, Mrs. Geraldine Gustin, of Horseheads, NY, and Mrs. Marilyn
Johnson, of St. Paul, Minn.; two sons, Wallace Keck, of Wellsboro, and
Thomas Keck of New Hope; a sister, Mrs. Tina Hotchkiss, of Vestal Center,
NY; a brother, Clark Butler, of Endicott, NY; 20 grandchildren and 17 great-
grandchildren. A son, Frederick W. Keck, died June 2. She also was preceded
in death by another son, Warren L. Keck. The funeral was held today, August
21, in the Lutheran Church, West Avenue. Burial will be in Tioga County
Memorial Gardens, Charleston Township. The Rev. Richard J. Nielsen, her

LOSINGER Arlene L. Gross
Arlene L. Gross, our Mom, has gone to meet her Lord and Savior on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at the Carleton Senior Care Home, Wellsboro. She was born in Marsh Creek, Oct. 13, 1938, the daughter of the late Arthur and Ada W. Learn Losinger. Arlene was a lifelong resident of Wellsboro. She was formerly employed by Wundies Inc. as a packer for nine years. Arlene is survived by two sons, Rickey L. and Randy R. Gross; three daughters, Belinda M. (David) Frost, Cindy L. Everetts, Cheryl A. Gross; several sisters; eight grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; and her former husband, Terry (Gina) Gross. Private family service will be held at Tioga County Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Eugene A. Charsky, officiating. LOSINGER David L. Age 64, of Wellsboro, PA, died June 7, 2005 at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, PA. He was born December 21, 1940 in Blossburg, PA, the son of Floyd and Genevieve Bush Losinger. David was a retiree of Osram. He attended Ansonia Full Gospel Church and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, the former Joanne Heffner; four sons and daughters-in-law, John and Lori of Millerton, PA, Allen of Tioga, PA, Carl and Shannon of Wellsboro, PA, Phillip and Denise of Wellsboro, PA; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Agnes of Wellsboro, PA, Mike and Lois of Millerton, PA, Pete and Sandy, Joe and Nancy, and Tim, all of Wellsboro, PA; ten grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, George. Friends are invited to call at the Gary Wilston Funeral Home, 18 N. KENNETH J.
LOSINGER, 82, of Wellsboro, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2018. He was born
July 19, 1936 in Blossburg, a son of Kenneth and Caroline (Smith) Losinger.
He served in the U.S. Army and was married to Marilyn (Cloos) Losinger for
58 years. Ken was formerly employed by Confair Bottling, Wellsboro, Acme
Markets, Wellsboro, and HMAC, Lawrenceville. He enjoyed hunting, fishing,
antiquing and playing softball. Ken is survived by his wife: Marilyn of
Wellsboro, three sons: Kevin Losinger, Brian Losinger and Scott (Tasha
Bertch) Losinger all of Wellsboro; two daughters: Laurie (Dan "Cub"
Dinnison) Everett, Terri (George Baldwin) Mahon both of Wellsboro; and many
grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A private family graveside service
will be held at the Tioga County Memorial Gardens, Mansfield, with Rev.

LUNZ, Dorothy R. - Dorothy R. "Dottie" Starkweather, 80, of Wellsboro, died on Wednesday, March 22, 2017. She was born on Aug. 13, 1936, in Dayton, Ohio, the sixth of seven children of the late Alvin E. and Cora P. (Myers) Lunz. She married Alvin L. Starkweather on Nov. 5, 1966, combining families numbering 13; Seven of whom survive. Dottie retired from the custodial department of Mansfield University after 30 years of service and then worked as a part-time housekeeper for Broad Acres Nursing Home for five years and volunteered for many years at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital. She is survived by three daughters, Louann (Peter) Starkweather Ruppert, Terri (Bob) Adamy, Tammy (Randy) Wager; four sons, Duane (Dawn) Starkweather, Lee (Melinda) Starkweather, Alvin (Inge) Starkweather, Bill Warriner; 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Dottie was predeceased by her husband, Alvin, in May of 1982; daughter, Leslie Ann Warriner; five sons, Douglas L. Warriner, James A. Warriner, Hugh S. Starkweather, David Starkweather, Arnold Starkweather; grandson, Corey Starkweather; four brothers, and two sisters. LYON – Marshall C. Lyon, 92, a resident of Strong’s Christian Home, Morris Run, formerly of Mansfield, died there Wednesday, Oct. 30, 1985. He was born Aug. 25, 1893, at Woodhull, NY, a son of John W. and Helen Case Lyon. Mr. Lyon was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Blossburg. He was a former maintenance employee of Arnot Ogden Memorial Hospital, Elmira, NY. He is survived by his wife, the former Leona Soper, also of Morris Run; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Beatrice Lyon of St. Petersburg, FL; one niece, Mrs. Helen Harrell of Savannah, GA. The funeral was held Sunday at the Drinkwine Funeral Home, Blossburg. Burial was in Tioga County Memorial Gardens, Charleston Township. The Rev. Marc Beavan, his pastor, officiated.
