CACCIOTTI John L.
Co-Founder of J&R Foods
Age 83 of Horseheads, NY died on Thursday November 13, 2008 very unexpectedly
at home. Mr. Cacciotti was born August 30, 1925 in Elmira, NY the son of the late
Gabriele and Anna Juliane Cacciotti. He was a Veteran of WWII serving his
country with the US Army. John married his wife, Hazel L. Borgeson Cacciotti,
on January 29, 1949 and they would have celebrated their 60th Wedding
Anniversary on January 29, 2009. He was a communicant of St. Mary Our Mother
Church in Horseheads, NY. Mr. Cacciotti worked for EPCO Foods in Elmira Heights
for several years before being a co-founder of J&R Foods in Elmira, NY
which his sons continue to operate. He was predeceased by his parents, his
daughters Nancy Cacciotti Dunbar and Mary Joann Cacciotti, his brother Robert
Cacciotti and his sisters Rosemary Cummings and Teresa Davis. John was an avid
New York Yankees and New York Giants fan. Mr. Cacciotti was a loving and devoted
husband, father, and grandfather who treasured the time he spent with his
family. John is survived by his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Hazel L.
Borgeson Cacciotti; sons and daughters-in-law: Richard and Lynne Cacciotti of
Watkins Glen, NY and John M. and Debra Cacciotti of Horseheads, NY; daughter

CACCIOTTI Mary Joann
Secretary for J&R Foods - Age 48 of Horseheads, NY died on Saturday
February 16, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. Mary Jo was born on
December 10, 1959 in Elmira, NY the daughter of John L. and Hazel L. Borgeson Cacciotti.
Mary Jo was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to all. She was the
Secretary for J&R Foods in Elmira, NY. Mary Jo was a communicant of St.
Mary Our Mother Church in Horseheads, NY. She was pre-deceased by her sister
Nancy Cacciotti Dunbar. Mary Jo was a devoted New York Yankees, New York Jets,
and Terry LaBonte fan. Mary Jo is survived by her parents: John L. and Hazel L.
Borgeson Cacciotti of Horseheads, NY; brothers and sisters-in-law: Richard and
Lynne Cacciotti both of Watkins Glen, NY; John M. and Debra Cacciotti of

CADY LENA MAE LEONARD
Lena Mae, Age 93, of Elmira, NY. She was born July 9, 1914 in Farmington
Township, PA, the last survivor of 10 siblings of the late Ira and Elizabeth
(Spaulding) Cady and died Wednesday, August 15, 2007, at St. Joseph's Hospital.
She was predeceased by her husbands, Paul Morey and Vern Leonard, and is
survived by her daughter, Carol Curkendall; grandchildren, Richard T.
Curkendall, Debra and Skip Larrison, Linda and Scott Morton, all of Elmira;
great-grandchildren, Laurie (Sean) Bush, Hope (Greg) Davis, Christopher (Kelly)
Morton, and Amanda (Jim) Ripley; along with 14 great-great-grandchildren. Mrs.
Leonard was employed with Remington Rand for 15 years, then with her husband
Vern, owned the Sportsman's Inn on Waneta Lake. She was an avid card player.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, August 17th, from 10 to 11
a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 224 Franklin St., Elmira. Her Mass of Christian
Burial will follow at 11 a.m. Immediately following the Mass, everyone is
invited to the Marion Center for a luncheon and to continue to visit and share memories

CALDWELL
–SUSANNA IRENE KUCKO, a longtime resident of Horseheads, NY passed away
peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at the
age of 84. She was born in Endicott, NY, the daughter of the late William
and Marcella Caldwell. Sue is survived by her devoted and loving husband of
65 years, Sam; her children, Susan Kucko, William (Mary Jane) Kucko, Ann
Kucko, and Jim (Julie) Kucko; grandchildren, Jennifer, Caitlin, Nathan,
Jimmy, Jared and Sierra; and one great grandson, Mel. Sue was a devoted
wife, mom and her number one joy was her family. She enjoyed baking,
reading, ice cream, needlework, solving puzzles, and attending her

CAPARULO - DONAHUE Margaret R. Caparulo
Age 87 of Horseheads, NY died on Friday December 19, 2008. Margaret was born
February 12, 1921 in Elmira, NY the daughter of the late James and Mary Louise
Pisano Caparulo. She married her husband, Justin J. Donahue, on August 22, 1953
and he pre-deceased her on October 30, 1972. Margaret was also pre-deceased by
her sister Marie Caparulo Ogden and by her five brothers Francis Caparulo, John
Caparulo, James Caparulo, Joseph Caparulo, and Louis Caparulo. Mrs. Donahue was
a communicant of St. Mary Our Mother Church in Horseheads, NY. Margaret loved
her family and dedicated her life to them and especially treasured the time she
spent with her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Donahue is survived by her

Anna M. (Cavaluzzi) Age 73, of 525 Hatfield Street Horseheads, NY died very
unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 29, 2005, at St. Joseph's Hospital. Anna was
born May 28, 1932 in Elmira, NY, to the late James and Margaret Emanuel
Cavaluzzi. She married her husband, Donald L. Stuart, in April of 1955 and they
recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Anna was a former employee
of Remington Rand in Elmira, NY. She was a retired manager for Pudgie's Pizza.
She was a communicant of St. Mary Our Mother Church in Horseheads, NY. Anna was
predeceased by her parents; her brothers, James and Richard Cavaluzzi; and her
sisters, Grace Rohde and Delores "DeeDee" Cavaluzzi. Anna loved her
family and friends and cherished the time she spent with them, especially her
three precious granddaughters. Anna is survived by her loving and devoted

Age 62 of Grand Central Ave., Horseheads died
unexpectedly as result of an automobile accident, March 19, 2010. He was born
Aug. 19, 1947 in Elmira, NY. He was predeceased by his father, Mathew Cerio.
John is survived by his wife, Linda (Ballinger) Cerio; mother, Elvira Cerio of
Horseheads, NY; daughters, Suzette Morgan of Elmira, NY, Claudia (Chris) Cerio
of Horseheads, NY, Kara (Ben) Clark of Horseheads, NY; sister, Grace (George)
Medwick Kennett Square, PA; brother, Gary Cerio of Horseheads, NY; many
grandchildren; his wife Linda's daughters and son, Jerry (Daphney) Warren of
Owasa, OK, Janice Pritchard of Milford, PA, Liz (Mike) Jett of Gaston, SC;

graduate of Horseheads High School and the Univ. of Arizona. He was employed at
Cornell Univ. and just recently retired after 26 years of service from the
University as their Transit Coordinator. He was an active member of local bible
study. John was an avid Train and Zeppelin Enthusiast. As a student of
Archeology he was always intrigued by the study of Egyptology. He was an honest
and kind "gentle-man" and loved by his family and many friends.

Age 70, of Horseheads, died unexpectedly Monday, June 27, 2011. Survived by loving wife of 43 years, Carol; son, James A. CLARK Charles J. Age 88, of Big Flats, died quietly at home on April 7, 2006. He is survived by his wife, Ethel V. a man with an unfailing sense of humor and an answer for everything, died Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at the age of 84. Howie was a resident of Horseheads, NY and personally contributed to the growth of Chemung County with his 8 offspring, who in turn went forth and multiplied. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he was a member of the Horseheads Elks, the Telephone Pioneers of America and retired from New York Telephone (now AT&T) in 1985. Howie was also the #1 fan of the Horseheads JV & Varsity girls' basketball teams. The teams discovered Howie's loyalty, enthusiasm, unerring punctuality and simple love of the game. His kids enjoy bragging about being begotten and raised by such a man. The family would like to thank the incredible nursing staff at St. Joseph's ICU, the assistance of family friend Sue McCabe, and the love and support from Mike Houghtaling, who was like a son to him. CLARK Elizabeth Marie Clark
A woman with a fierce love of family, a sly sense of humor and a genius for friendship, died December 23, 2012 at the age of 56. Beth was born in Elmira, NY on September 10, 1956. She graduated from Horseheads High School in 1974, LeMoyne College in 1978 and had a Master's degrees in theology from Boston College and a Master's degree in education from Wheelock College. We all knew our sister Lizzie was the smartest of the bunch even though she was the shortest. E. Margaret "Marge" Age 87 of Horseheads, NY died on Saturday
September 9, 2006. She was born on April 23, 1919 in Hubbell, Michigan the
daughter of the late Louis and Mary Perrault Clouthier. She was a Veteran of
WWII serving her country with the U.S. Marine Corps. Mrs. Randall married her
husband Howard U. Randall on May 9, 1946 and they recently celebrated their
60th Wedding Anniversary on May 9, 2006. She was a retired employee of J.C.
Penney's in Horseheads, NY. She was a charter member of The National Women's
Memorial in Washington D.C. and a communicant of St. Mary Our Mother Church in
Horseheads, NY. She was pre-deceased by her parents; brothers and sisters and
sons-in-law: Bruce Walters and Eric Reimers. Mrs. Randall is survived by her
husband Howard U. Randall; daughters: Carol A. Walters of Horseheads, NY; Faith

Age 65, of Narrowsburg, NY, formerly of Elmira, died Tuesday, September 14,
2010 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center – SNF. Joe was born July 16, 1945, in
Elmira, a son of the late Faustin J. and Ann (Dooley) Clune. In addition to his
parents, he is predeceased by his twin brother John J. Clune. Joe is survived

Rosie his 3 year old Kerry Blue Terrier. Joe had a great love for his hometown

peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Nov. 13, 2014. Madalyn was
born June 2, 1926, in Elmira, NY to Vincent and Margaret (Splann) Clune. She
is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert; son, Patrick and Peg Rohde
of Wilson, NC with their daughter and son, Anne and Kyle; daughters,
Elizabeth and Paul Barrett of Fairport, NY and Maureen and Tom Owen of
Horseheads with their daughter, Madalyn; sisters, Mary Catherine Thornton of
Colorado Springs, CO and Margaret Flynn of Elmira, NY; several nieces and
nephews and many close and caring friends. She was also predeceased by her
granddaughter, Katherine Elizabeth Owen; sister, Edwina Mincks; and brother,
James Clune. Madalyn was a devoted communicant of St. Mary Our Mother
Church, member of Ladies Rosary Society and Resurrection Choir. She was also
a volunteer at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Above all, she was a devoted
wife and mother and grandmother. Madalyn worked at several places in the
area as an executive secretary. She also worked as an agent with Rupenthal

COLEGROVE Richard S. "DICK"
Age 86 of Horseheads, NY died on Tuesday July 23 , 2013 at Bethany Manor. Dick was born July 11, 1927 in Elmira NY the son of the late Marvin and Virginia Whitby Colegrove. He was a World War II Veteran serving his country with The U.S. Navy. He married his wife, Ella Murphy Colegrove , on August 16, 1951 and they would have celebrated their 62nd Wedding Anniversary on August 16, 2013. Mr. Colegrove was a very active member of The Lake Street Presbyterian Church in Elmira, NY and helped bring the church to those who were unable to attend services. He was a member and long-time treasurer of The Clarence R. Oliver American Legion Post 154 in Elmira Heights, NY. Dick coached in Elmira Heights Little League from its inception in 1952 until 1972. He was a football official and served as Secretary Treasure of The Elmira Chapter of Football Officials for many years. Dick was inducted into the Elmira Heights Sports Hall of Fame and The Chemung County Sports Hall of Fame. Mr. Colegrove established The American Legion Park in Elmira Heights honoring World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War Veterans. He also volunteered at The Arctic League for over 50 years. Dick was pre-deceased by seven brothers and one sister . –MARTHA JANE BAILEY COPELAND, 87, of Main Street, passed away on Saturday,
November 29, 2014 at the Indian River Nursing Home in Granville. Born on
June 17, 1927 in Hudson Falls, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and
Winifred (Nicholson) Copeland. Jane was a graduate of Thomas Edison High
School in Elmira Heights, NY and from Miss Beardsley's Secretarial School in
Elmira. She was a secretary for Ward LaFrance Fire Truck Co. and retired
from General Electric Co. in Elmira. She enjoyed volunteering at the Elcor
Nursing Home in Horseheads, bowling and was an avid reader and bridge
player. She was a former communicant of St. Mary Our Mother Catholci Church
in Horseheads, NY and currently of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church
in So. Glens Falls, NY. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her
first husband Virgil Bailey, who passed away on March 22, 1990 as well as
her two sisters, Mary Copeland and Helen Haines. Left to cherish her
memories her husband, Coolidge Copeland of Argyle; her two daughters,

COX Robert S. Age 45 of Nelson Avenue Saratoga Springs, NY died on Saturday February 18, 2006 at his home following a brief illness. CRONK Dorothy E. Monte, age 97, formerly of Elmira, N.Y., died at the Elcor Nursing facility in Horseheads, N.Y., on Saturday June 22, 2013. Dorothy was born on Sept. 11, 1915, in Richmond, Va., She is a descendent of the 1640 Settlers of the Edwards family of Virginia, and a daughter of the late Thomas Bradford and Eva Harriet Edwards Cronk. She married her husband, Joseph G. Monte, on June 10, 1957, and they were married for 53 years until he predeceased her on Oct. 8, 2010. She worked in the Elmira theaters, retired from Bendix, worked for Ambrose Real Estate in Big Flats, N.Y. Joe and Dorothy named and founded the Elbow Room in Elmira, N.Y., and joined her husband Joe who owned and operated El Monte Restaurant and Inn and worked until their retirement in 2002. She was a member of the Doe's of the Elks, Grottuetts, Rotary Ann's of Chemung County, Daughters of the Nile of Elmira, Zuleika Temple No. 9, founder and member of the Birthday Club for 52 years, charter member of the Big Flats American Legion Auxillary, past president of Fraternal Order of Eagles, Retired Eagles Activity Club. Dorothy was an avid golfer and bowler and enjoyed playing basketball. She and Joe also loved traveling. Mrs. Monte was pre-deceased by her loving husband, Joseph G. Ann Age 77, of Blossburg, PA, died peacefully on March 8, 2006 at Soldiers and
Sailors Hospital in Wellsboro. Born July 22, 1928 in Blossburg, she was a
daughter of the late John and Ida (Sowa) Dadas. Ann graduated from the
Blossburg High School, class of 1945. She was employed by Ward Foundry for many
years until retirement. She was a devoted member of St. Mary's Catholic Church,
Blossburg. Ann married Mariam (Butt) Jankiewicz on November 26, 1955, and was a
perfect wife and friend for over 50 years. She also enjoyed gardening and

of Horseheads, NY - Carolyn D. Conwell age 85 of Elmira, NY formerly of
Horseheads, NY passed away peacefully on Tuesday December 1, 2020 surrounded
by her loving family. Carolyn was born February 22, 1935 in Cameron, NY the
daughter of the late Thornton E. Dartt and Kathryn E. Ridge Dartt. She
married her husband, Donald M. Conwell Jr., and he predeceased her on July
21, 1978. Carolyn was also predeceased by her brothers Carlton, Jerry and
Phil Dartt as well as her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Joyce Dartt,
Jack Conwell, Boyd and Helen Conwell, Bill Coddington, Ken Davies and her
long-time companion Robert (Bob) Wrigley. Carolyn owned and operated Conwell
Oil Corporation in Elmira Heights, NY after Don's death for several years.
She was a communicant of St. Mary Our Mother Church in Horseheads, NY.
Carolyn's love of adventure and travel took her to many of the National
Parks and frequently stayed at "The Fountain of Youth" in Southern
California. She was a lover of jazz music and the jazz scene as she followed
her brother Carlton's jazz band for years. She was a fierce and avid
Scrabble player, and was always ready for anything "FUN"! Carolyn loved her
family and friends and treasured the time she spent with them. Carolyn is

Age 92 of Wall Township, NJ and a longtime resident of Horseheads, NY died
on Sunday February 28, 2010 at Waterford Glen in Wall, NJ. Sarah was born December
1, 1917 in New York City the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Brogon Davis.
She had lived in Brooklyn, NY before moving to Horseheads, NY with The Ann Page
Company. Sally had been employed in Administration in the Corporate Office of
The A&P Food Stores and the Ann Page Plant in Horseheads, NY for several
years. She married her husband, Joseph Dinkwoods, on September 27, 1972 and he
pre-deceased her on December 26, 1994. Sally was a faithful communicant of St.
Mary Our Mother Church in Horseheads, NY. She moved to Wall Township, NJ in
August 2003 to be near her nieces and their families. Sally is survived by her
two nieces Sharyn Riccardi of Weehawken, NY and Wall Township, NJ and Frances
Riccardi of Jersey City, NJ and Wall Township, NJ; great niece Sara Riccardi as
well as several other nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

age 89 of Big Flats , NY passed away on Friday October 24, 2014 at home. El
Don was born September 14 , 1925 in Montour Falls, NY the son of the late
Lawrence and Alta Goundry Decker . He married his wife, Angeline G. Della
Rocco Decker on September 16, 1950 and they recently celebrated their 64th
Wedding Anniversary on September 16, 2014. El Don was retired from Corning
Inc. with several years of dedicated service. He was a communicant of St.

Age 85 of Horseheads, NY died on Sunday January 28, 2007 at St. Joseph's
Hospital in Elmira, NY. He was born on August 1, 1921 in Binghamton, NY the son
of the late Herbert and Mildred Tripp Decker. Ken was raised and educated in
Binghamton prior to joining the U.S. Army in 1940. He was stationed at Oswego
at Fort Ontario and Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Mr. Decker also later served
his country in the U.S. Air Force in Alaska, Greenland, Arizona and Texas. Ken
was employed for several years at Ingersoll-Rand in Painted Post, NY and was a
retired mail handler at the Elmira Post Office. He was a communicant of St.
Mary Our Mother Church in Horseheads, NY. Kenneth was pre-deceased by his
parents; brother Cliff and his loving wife Barbara A. Sadler Decker who
pre-deceased him on October 25, 1992. He will be sadly missed by his family and

Elsie M. Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother Age 89 of
Flint, Michigan formerly of Horseheads, NY died on Friday August 11, 2006.
Elsie was born in Saginaw, Michigan on March 13, 1917 the daughter of the late
Nick and Dora Karenko Duro. Mrs. Baldini married her husband, Ralph R. Baldini
of Corning, NY, who pre-deceased her on May 17, 1977. She was also pre-deceased
by her parents and her siblings. Elsie retired from Dr. Herbert Breakstone's
Dental Office in Horseheads, NY. She was a communicant of St. Mary Our Mother
Church in Horseheads prior to moving to Michigan. Elsie loved her family and
friends and cherished the time she spent with them. She always had a smile on
her face and a twinkle in her eye. Mrs. Baldini is survived by her son and
daughter-in-law: Ralph R. "Butch" & Linda Baldini Jr. of Flint,
Michigan; grandchildren: Carrie & her husband Charlie and David Baldini
& his wife Michele; great grandchildren: Alyssa, Justin, Nick, and Alexa;

NY died on Friday December 7, 2001. Mrs. Keiffer was born February 10, 1919 in
Morris Run PA, the daughter of the late Thomas and Katherine Gannon Dwyer. She
married her husband, Walter R. Keiffer on October 10, 1948 who pre-deceased her
on July 25, 1989. Mrs. Keiffer was also pre-deceased by her son: Thomas Michael
Keiffer, who died on October 6, 1953; brothers: Martin Dwyer, Thomas Dwyer,
John Dwyer and a sister: Catherine Brown. She graduated from the former Morris
Run High School, Mansfield College and Columbia with a degree in Education.
Mrs. Keiffer was a communicant of St. Mary Our Mother Church. She devoted her
time to her family and volunteer activities. Marceil's activities included
teaching, Clemens Center Volunteer, a member of AARP, Chemung Valley Senior
Citizens Club, Gold Card, and Elmira Heights American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs.
Keiffer is survived by her sons: Christopher Keiffer of Horseheads, NY and
Robert Keiffer of Horseheads, NY; daughters: Diane (Michael) Weddle of
Snohomish, WA, Victoria (Timothy) Rinkerman of Seymour, CT, Melanie Keiffer of

EXLEY Robert A. Exley
83, of Mildred Pa., died at his home on Friday, June 15, 2012. He was born on June 14, 1929 in Mildred, an only son of the late Albert and Marie Daugherty Exley. Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Army, from March 1951 until December 1952, ending his carrier as a drill instructor at Indiantown Gap. He was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Mildred. After his military service he worked in Dushore installing the borough's first water supply lines, after which he began working for the State Forestry Department under DEP, as a forestry officer until his retirement. Robert married Joan Vogel on Oct. 31, 1959 in Trinity Lutheran Church in Mildred and had celebrated 52 years of marriage. With his love of the outdoors he enjoyed sharing his knowledge of the local vegetation, and local wild animals. He also collected Indian artifacts and had an extensive collection. He is survived by his wife Joan at home, two children and spouses: Brenda and Frank Stabryla of Lost Lake: Craig and Kelly Exley of Opelika, Ala.; two grandchildren Sgt. David and Alicia Vogt of Alexendria Va.; Colleen Stabryla of Melbourne Fla.; and a great-grandson Joseph D. Vogt. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 22, 2012 at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Mildred, with Rev. Robert Kaltenbaugh, his pastor, officiating. He married his wife Josephine J. Berbec Frisk and she predeceased him on July 14, 1984. Died on Saturday October 6, 2012. Rose was born in New York City to immigrant parents Julia and Adolph Gartner September 25, 1918. Survived by son and daughter-in-law Arthur (Carolyn Kuechler) Linsner III of Skokie, IL; daughter and son-in-law Kathy (Bruce) Ayers of Corning, NY; grandchildren Jordan, Jessica and Jennifer Ayers of Corning, NY; sister Lillian (Joseph) Henry of Horseheads, NY and their children Paul, Janet, Mary and Robert; sister Annette (Raymond) Hussey of Rosedale, NY and their children Kenneth, Kevin, Christopher, Michael and Stephen; niece Dorothy Linsner, nephew Eric Linsner and several grandnieces and grandnephews. Rose was often seen dancing the rarely seen Peabody at the Horseheads Elks Club with her husband Arthur who died June 25, 1979. When complimented on her dancing ability, she would gracefully reply, "I can't dance; I just know how to follow Art." She was secretary for the man who became the founder of Consumer Reports and finally taught as an Earth Science teacher for the Horseheads School district for 17 years. An accomplished classical pianist, she entertained her family and friends to their amazement. She also took time to teach several local youths. Until she could no longer do so, she volunteered at the local Food Bank and remained active in her St. Mary Our Mother parish. A special "Thank You" is sent to all her Caregivers over the past several years, especially Carrie Ann, Carlene, Pam, Mary, Alex, Elizabeth, Pat, Gloria, Allyn and Norma. Their tireless devotion in making her quality of life so wonderful was beyond any wishes. GEDATUS Charles L. "Chuck"
Age 86 of Horseheads, NY died peacefully at home on Saturday November 7, 2009.
Chuck was born April 28, 1923 in Rochester, Minnesota. He was pre-deceased by
his parents Roy and Mayme Krause Gedatus, his sister Marion Everson, and
numerous brothers and sister-in-law. Chuck married his wife, Marguerite
Montague Gedatus, on October 12, 1946 and they recently celebrated their 63rd
Wedding Anniversary. Chuck is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 63
years Marguerite, daughters Mary Susan (Joseph) Skelly, Bridget Kathleen
(Joseph) Tierno, and Marion (Rev. Bryan) Bedell. He dearly loved his
grandchildren Beth (Andrew) Kempf, Jennifer (Todd) Haran, Joseph (Leslie)
Skelly, Emily (Gene) Walsh, and Alan (Liz) Overslaugh. Chuck delighted in his
great grandchildren Katie, David, and Janie Kempf, Jonas and Regan Haran, and
Joseph and Jack Skelly. He is also survived by his brothers Donald Gedatus and
Richard (Pat) Gedatus of Minnesota, sisters-in-law Marion (Dick) Gallant and
Helen Bokros of Canada plus numerous nieces, nephews, cousins in Canada and
Minnesota. Chuck worked for Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company for 45 years many
as a District Manager. After his retirement, he embarked on a second career as
a County Legislator for the Fourth District. He was extremely proud of his 20
years in the Legislature. Chuck was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing into his
85th year. He was a communicant of St. Mary Our Mother Church in Horseheads, NY
as well as an Eucharistic Minister for many years. Chuck was also a charter
member of Horseheads Elks Lodge # 2297. He loved his family and friends and
treasured the time he spent with them. Chuck loved watching his grandchildren
and great grandchildren growing up and supported them in everything they have
done. Chuck's Family would like to thank the wonderful people we worked with at
the Falck Center, Gentiva, and especially the people at Southern Tier Hospice

76, of Dundee, lost his battle with cancer on Sunday August 19, 2018. Born
in Elmira on Apr 14, 1942, the son of the late Harold Francis and Phyllis
Parsons Gee; he is survived by his sister, Carol (James) Bramble and family.
He will be sadly missed by his friends at the Yates County ARC and
his very special caretaking family, Judy & Chuck Voisey at the Voisey Family
Care home where he resided for nearly 18 years. A special thanks to the care
and attention given by the Ontario-Yates Hospice in Norm's final days. A
viewing for family and friends will be held from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Thursday
(Aug. 23) at the Weldon Funeral Home, 102 E. Main St. Penn Yan, NY with a
prayer service immediately following the calling hour with Father Leo

GEHL John N. Gehl (Jack)
81, of Green Valley, Arizona died of pancreatic cancer on Sunday, December 26, 2010 at Hospice Family Care in Tucson, AZ. Jack, a native of Corning, New York, was born on March 25, 1929 to the late John and Regina Fey Gehl. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Natalie Green Farrow Gehl; his sons, John of Corning, David, Stephen and Michael of Santa Rosa, CA, Richard (Brenda) of Virginia Beach and Timothy of Colorado; his daughters, Deborah (Donald) Lauper of Corning, Diana Asker of Sebastopol, CA and Elizabeth of Santa Rosa, CA; stepsons, Douglas Farrow of Elmira and Gordon (Miako) Farrow of Petaluma, CA; stepdaughters, Katharine (Charles) Farrow of San Diego and Ellen (Dom-inic) Houlemard of Sebas-topol and many grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Christopher in 1983 and his first wife Natalie Eaton Gehl in 1969. Jack also leaves behind his sisters, Helene (Willis) Ford of Corning, Rita (Alfred) Lozano of Birmingham, AL and brother, Joseph (Joyce) of Kent, NY. He attended Corning schools and served in the Air Force prior to attending Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. He worked for Corning Incorporated for 27 years in Corning and Anaheim, CA prior to opening his own printing business, Printing Plus, in Santa Rosa, CA in 1977. He continued to consult in his printing business, now owned by his son David, after retiring in 1994. He and Natalie moved to Green Valley in 1999. Jack, known for his quick dry wit and love of travel, is loved and respected by his family and friends and will be greatly missed. A mass will be said in his name at the 11:15 am. service on Sunday, January 9, 2011, at St. Philip’s Church in Occidental, CA followed by a gathering to celebrate his life. A memorial service will also be held at St. Mary Our Mother Church, 816 W. Broad St., Horseheads, NY, on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 9:30 am. Age 92, of Horseheads, formerly of Elmira, died Saturday, October 4, 2008 at
Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Pauline was born August 1, 1916 in Queens, NY, a
daughter of Frederick and Eva Golka. She is predeceased by her husbands, Edward
Brendel and George Haworth. Pauline is survived by her daughter, Karen Jennings
of Elmira, with sons, Christopher, David, Mark, and Patrick; step-daughters,
Sister Mary Haworth, F.S.P. of Elizabeth, NJ, Sister Barbara Haworth, S.J. H.
of Bound Brook, NJ, Sister Ann Haworth, O.S.M. of Omaha, NE; step-son, Brother
Francis (George) Haworth, T.O.R. of Loreto, PA; along with several nieces and
nephews. Pauline spent most of her life on Long Island before moving to Elmira
18 years ago to be closer to her daughter. She lived in West Elmira for most of
that time before moving to Appleridge in Horseheads 2 years ago. Pauline
enjoyed her time spent at Appleridge, appreciating the excellent care given her
while she lived there. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church.

Pathways Day Program and became part of the Johnson Family who cared for her in

Workshop. Julie resided in Bath since 1992. She is survived by her father,

Age 67, of 1127 Airport Rd., died peacefully at home, Saturday, November 10,
2007. Born in Fremont, March 13, 1940, a daughter of Earl and Gladys Kilbury
Hendee, Carol was a lifelong resident of the Hornell area. She was a graduate
of the Arkport Central School, Class of 1957, later graduating from Rochester
Business Institute. Carol was employed as office manager for Simmons &
Rockwell Inc. of Bath. Carol will be remembered for her love of spending time
with her grandchildren, and spending time at Keuka Lake. She will be especially
remembered for being a card carrying member of all the local casinos. She was a
member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish and communicant of St. Ann's Church.
She was predeceased by her husband, Carl Marino on December 27, 2004 and also
her parents. She is survived by three daughters, Barbara (Doug) Hess of Dundee,
Brenda (Jeffrey) Boone of Hornell, and Lisa (Dan Schwartz) Marino, also of
Hornell; one son, Carl (Rene) Marino of Pittsford; one sister, Sue Laraway of
Honeoye Falls; one brother, Jack (Lois) Hendee of Freemont; five grandchildren,
Trevor Hess, Justin and Hannah Boone, Daniel and Mary Marino; a mother-in-law,
Mary Amato of California; a sister-in-law, Janet Madau; two brothers-in-law,
John Dessena and Joseph Mainello; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

HENDRICKSON William A.
Age 67 of Horseheads, NY died on Thursday April 2, 2009 after a courageous
battle with cancer. Bill was born on June 7, 1941 in Elmira, NY the son of the
late Ralph P. and Helen Burgett Hendrickson Sr. He received a Bachelor's Degree
in Music from Ithaca College and continued his educational pursuits in music at
Mansfield University. Bill was "The Singing Waiter" at El Monte
Restaurant in Fisherville, NY. He taught piano lessons and was the original
accompanist for the "Common Time" Choral. Bill taught music at Thomas
Edison High School and was involved with musicals at local high schools. He was
a member of the New York State School Music Association Concerts and was also
very active in The Elmira Little Theatre. He was a communicant of St. Mary Our
Mother Church in Horseheads, NY. Bill was pre-deceased by his parents and his
brother Ralph P. Hendrickson Jr. who died on January 27, 1980. Mr. Hendrickson
is survived by his nieces: Alana Hendrickson-Sattamini & Franco Sattamini

Lawrence L. "Big Larry" Age 84 of Horseheads, NY died on Monday May
15, 2006 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Mr. Hesselbarth was born October
29, 1921 in Lexington, Kentucky the son of the late Peter and Nannie Green
Hesselbarth. He married his wife, Irene G. Novick Hesselbarth, on October 16,
1941 and she pre-deceased him on October 1, 1994. Larry worked for several
years at Remington Rand in Elmira and later became a self employed painter and
interior decorator. He was a member of The Painters' Union Local #178 and was
an all around handyman who re-modeled his home by himself as well as enjoying
reading. Larry loved his family and cherished the time he spent with them. Mr.

years, Dr. Lawrence Waite; two daughters and one son-in-law, Colleen and Mike

known for her willingness to always help others and for her courage and

obstacles with such a strong will to live. One of her greatest motivations was
in her grandson, Colin whom she treasured her time with. She was truly an
inspiration to all who knew her. Linda's family would like to extend their

Age 57, of Elmira Heights, died on Dec. 6, 2012 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born Aug. 28, 1955 in Corning, NY to Edward and Mary (Gullo) Houpt. She is survived by her husband, Michael Spirawk; daughters, Danielle and Stephanie Spirawk, also of Elmira Heights, NY; son, Jason Joris of Alpine, NY; parents, Ed and Mary "Minnie" Houpt of Winterhaven, FL; sister, Kathy (Steve) Draper of Bradenton, FL; nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of close and caring friends, neighbors and co-workers including special friend, Beth Tunney of Corning, NY. Nancy was also predeceased by her sister, Linda Houpt, in 2008 and loyal canine companion, Murphy, earlier this year. Nancy was Corning East High, CCC, and Elmira College Graduate. She worked at Corning Inc. and more recently as a Financial Analyst at Dresser Rand in Painted Post. She was a communicant of St. Mary Our Mother Church in Horseheads and volunteer at the Parish Festival and St. Mary's School. Nancy also volunteered at the Corning Hospital. She was very active in the fight against cancer as Team Captains for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure - Relay For Life and American Cancer Society - Race for the Cure . Her daughters will take over her teams and continue the fight in their mother's memory. 78, of Ulster Park, NY, died Sunday, December 23, 2007, at the Kingston
Hospital, Kingston, NY. She was born February 22, 1929 in Elmira, and was the
daughter of the late Patrick and Mary Troy Hourihan, and wife of Charles F.
Broschart; they married on June 24, 1961. A graduate of Elmira Catholic High
School, class of 1947. She had been the secretary for Mt. Saint Alphonsus,
Esopus, NY, and retired in 1993. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart RC Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters, Mary and her husband,
Peter Giarratano, Paticia and her husband, Frank Valenza; a son, Michael and
his wife, Suzanne Broschart; eight grandchildren; sister of Helen Hourihan,
Theresa Hourihan and Raymond Hourihan; cousin of Marie Powers. Predeceased by

to Sacred Heart RC Church, where at 10:00 a.m. a Mass of Christian Burial will

JANKIEWICZ Mariam "Butt"
83, lifelong resident of Blossburg, PA, died unexpectedly on November 11, 2008
at Broad Acres Nursing Home in Wellsboro. Mariam John, "Butt" to
family and friends, was born on August 2, 1925 in Blossburg. He was one of five
siblings in the family of John and Mary (Symarek) and stepson of Mary
"Mimi" (Batulis) Jankiewicz. He was a graduate of Morris Run High
School and a proud W.W. II veteran, serving as Sergeant with the U.S. Army in
the Pacific Theatre. Later he earned a B.S. Degree in Business Administration
from Lycoming College. Butt was blessed with over 50 years of marriage to the
late Ann (Dadas). He was the executive director of the Tioga County Assistance
Office until retiring in 1986. Butt was a member of Blossburg's St. John Newman
Catholic Church (formerly St. Mary's). He was an avid golfer and enjoyed
visiting with his many friends, fishing, traveling and gardening. Surviving are
a sister, Gerry Zuchowski of Blossburg; sisters-in-law, Helen Vertoske of
Horseheads and Helen Dadas of Blossburg; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his beloved wife, Ann, who died March 8, 2006; he was predeceased by
three siblings, Eugene Jankiewicz, Gen Stacey and Eleanor Batulis. Calling
hours are 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Friday at Zwicharowski Funeral Home in Blossburg.
The Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. at Blossburg's St. John's Catholic
Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials
may be made to St. John's Catholic Church, 138 St. Mary's St., Blossburg, PA

JOHN JARVIS, 56, formerly of 200 Madison Ave. died at Binghamton Thursday, May 12, 1938. He was at one time an enlisted member of the U.S. Marine Corps. He leaves two sons, Franklin and John of Horseheads; the mother, Mrs. Helen Jarvis of California; a sister, Miss Mary Jarvis of Ogdensburg, N.Y.; two brothers, Ernest of California and Jerry of Ogdensburg. The funeral will be held at the VanBuskirk Funeral Home, Horseheads Monday at 8:30 a.m. and in the St. Mary Church, Horseheads at ? o’clock. Of Horseheads, died on September 14, 2008 at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was born
May 25, 1921 to Ernest and Lillian Judd in Cleveland, Ohio. Surviving is his
wife, Dorothy; stepchildren, Fred Dayton, Grand Island, Mary Ann Dayton,
Georgia, and Donna Dayton, Fla. He retired from National Homes, Inc. Burial
