Joyce's Search Tip - December 2007 -
Do You Know that you can search just the 600 pages of Tioga County Cemetery Records on the site by using the Cemeteries -Tioga button in the Partitioned search engine at the bottom of the Current What's New Page? If you use that partition follow these steps to search just one cemetery
1. Choose Cemeteries - Tioga.
2. Enter part of the cemetery name [ie Newbury or Furman] AND a surname.
3. Choose the Find ALL Words option. Then it will find just the pages with that surname in the one cemetery you indicated.

Located on Stermer Road in Lawrenceville but on New York side of Tioga River, on the Mosher Farm, 3 miles from Rte.15. Copied by Bernice Clark (Robert Lyons) and . Susannah E. Whitcomb, of Corning NY 1969. They had to climb a mountain from the Mosher farm, as the pallbearers, once carried the caskets. This cemetery was copied of all remaining stones. There are many field stones and many unmarked stones. David Stoddard of Corning, descendant of these said the remains of log cabin of Permilia and John Cady still there.
This listing appeared in Tioga County Cemetery Inscriptions, Vol. 3 and is reprinted with permission of Rhoda ENGLISH Ladd.

Freda C. Age 85, of Tyrone, passed unexpectedly at home Nov. 15, 2005. She was born in Corning, NY, June 6, 1920 the daughter of the late Ernest Ray Quackenbush and Alice Teeple. She is survived by her sister, Edith Olson of Corning; and several nieces and nephews including special niece, Donna Stone of Erin, NY. Her wish was to be cremated and interred with her late sister, Martha Hunt and next to her mother, Alice in Cady Cemetery in Lawrenceville, PA. Freda loved to play cards, go to the casinos and play scratch off tickets. Freda retired from, Manth-Brownell in Kirkville, NY, where she lived for 20 years before moving to Tyrone. She was a free spirit, like a candle in the wind. Her many friends were her family. Her family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, 413 So. Main St., Horseheads, on Saturday, November 19, 2005, from 11:30 to 12:00 Noon where her service of celebration of life will take place at 12:00 noon. The Rev. Eleanor Haber will officiate.
