Be aware that you will also find some birth notices in the Clippings partition.

I was the person who at the request of my Grandma to have her birth certificate corrected when I was doing the family genealogy and discovered the birth certificate was incorrect and made a trip to Wellsboro in 1985 for an appointment with the President Judge to fix the wrong month as recorded originally by the Doctor who only got into town occasionally to make recordings!  Anyway, my Grandma would not allow me to put together our family genealogy in print with the wrong date.....in her words "because it would be a lie" to show her birth month as Nov! The Family Bible and a letter was good to have te Judge grant a birth month correction when my Grandma was 89 yrs old!  I was researching to give a gift of membership in DAR to my Grandma as a surprise but her birthdate was a hitch in the process and had to be corrected before submitting her application.  I was young, a family, working and drove 5 1/2 hrs each way same day (I couldn't afford to stay at the hotel....but had a great lunch at the diner!) to Wellsboro to meet with the Judge for 15 mins!  But the deed got done and now Grandma's birth date is correct and she became a member of DAR at 89 yrs old!  Oh and a 'huge' helper for me was wonderful Rhoda Ladd who I did have the privilege of meeting the day I went to Wellsboro to donate a copy in honor of my Grandma of 'The Button Families of America' by Nye to the library at the Historical Society in Wellsboro.

My intention to write was not to explain this but when I saw the double dates I had to let you know the story! It seems so funny now but my Grandma was dead serious that the wrong date would not be put into print!

You can get to any place on the site easily by making yourself familiar with these subject and place topics. Try them all to be as familiar with the site's 16,000 plus pages as you can. Stop groping in the dark and take the lighted path. That's also the only way you'll find the search engines for the site or have access to the necessary messages I may leave for you. Make it easy on yourself.
