Cady / Hoover Family Information

CADY / HOOVER record from quigleyb@inforum.net (Quigley) (No Name Given ) I was given a scrap of crumbling yellowed paper, years ago, and after reading through your web site this afternoon, thought you might be interested in filing the information away, for use at a later date. The two people referred to were my GG grandparents. "Abram L. Hoover, born October 15, 1818, in Middleburgh, Schoharrie Co., N.Y., married Amelia Jane Cady, Aug. 13, 1848, at Lawrenceville, Tioga Co., Pa. by Dr. Granger, and died October 15, 1907, aged 89 years. Buried Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Westfield, Pa., (Charles Boom lot). Charles Boom lot is next to the Tremain lot on the very top of hill. Mrs. Sarah Boom is Uncle Abe's niece." I'm looking forward to visiting Tioga County some day. Thank-you for all your efforts in other people's behalf.

Hi Joyce, [August 2007]

I was visiting Norma Crane in Addison 10 days ago, and she gave me a copy of a Rushmore Family Record. I thought you might like it for the web site. I'm attaching a JPEG file of the record, plus a typed transcription.  On back of the record is handwritten, "This is the paper that came West with Lavanchia, Azelia & Estella Rushmore". Where it states that Peter Rushmore was born in Cooksockey, Albany, NY, I believe the actual town was Coxhackie. Also, as the death of Silas Rushmore in 1878 is not on there, I figure it was printed between 1871 and 1878.

Thanks,
Betsy Gorman
