Mass. Farm House 1683 Capen Topsfield

The Massachusetts Farm House 1683 Capen Topsfield is a home referred to as the Parson Capen House. This home was built in 1683, in Topsfield, Massachusetts by the town's Reverend Capen who was a devoted man of the community, serving as Parson Capen for 44 years. The house is of the Elizabethan Architectural Era, an is one of the best surviving examples in America. The house was built on a grassy knoll that overlooked the Common. In 1913, the Topsfield Historical Society purchased the house and restored it. The house was then selected as a National Historic Landmark in 1960 as well as designating the Parson Capen House as a site of significant value in memorializing the history of the United States of America.

By WPA PA probably in 1930s. Set was in the education museum of M.S.T.C., probably on the Campus Elementary School which is now called the Retan Center, until transferred to Warren L. MIller Elementary School after it was built in 1972. Most recent location was in WLM school library.
