One of the rural entertainments of the past was the play the grange members put on as a fund raiser. These were once common and were fun for the cast mamebers and the community as well. Usually they were hillbilly comedies or farces, not serious drama. But they fulfilled their purpose as a community event and were part of the cement that held it together. [Intro.by Joyce M. Tice]
