Mansfield High School Graduates 1980
1960 view of Mansfield High School. Front section , formerly the gym - converted to auditorium, was built about 1927 attached to the old Brick School. In 1939, the Brick School was torn down and the new school built surrounding the central gym. The 1939 section  on left became the Junior High School in the fall of 1959, and the High School is the new part on the right.

TROUT, Dawn Marie - On Monday, September 11, 2017, Dawn "Pips" Marie Trout, age 54, of Mansfield, PA, mounted up with wings as eagles; she shall run and not be weary; and she shall walk and not be faint. (ref. Isaiah 40:31). Dawn was born on November 16, 1962 in Baltimore, MD, a daughter of Stephen and Barbara (Staufenberg) Trout, Sr. Dawn was formerly employed by First Citizens Community Bank in the Operations Center. Dawn played little league softball. She ran cross country at the State level and played tennis for Mansfield High School. Later in life she competed in wheelchair tennis and placed 2nd in the Nation. Dawn was an avid sports fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and the Eagles. She loved her nieces and nephews, her animals, music, and going to sporting events and concerts. Dawn is survived by her mother, Barbara (Glenn) Slaymaker; a brother, Stephen (Susan) Trout, Jr. of San Diego CA; three sisters, Deborah (Charles) Murphy of Mansfield, PA, Suzanne (Frank) Ameigh of Mansfield, PA, Rebekah (David) Redell of Pittsburgh, PA; nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews; feline companions, Sigourney, Jesse, Lucy, and a canine companion, Max. She was preceded in death by her father, Stephen A. Trout, Sr. in 2012; her maternal Grandmother (Gram), Emma Robinson in 2016. Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. A service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM with Pastor Paul Terre-Blanche officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Wayne Clayton Wilson, Jr., 54, of Asheville, passed away August 2, 2016 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. Mr. Wilson was born April 18, 1962 in Mansfield, PA. 

He attended George Washington University where he obtained a Certificate in Radiology Management.  He worked at Atlantic Health Partners for several years.  Mr. Wilson was a member of Basilica of St. Lawrence where he was a dedicated Lector and Eucharistic Minister, as well as past president of the Basilica Parish Council.  He was a member of Knights of Columbus, and past member of Asheville Catholic School, and the Diocesan School Board, Recreation and Challenge Level soccer coach for ABYSA.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 12 years, Angela Dixon Dalton-Wilson; his children, Conor Wilson of Asheville, Patrick Wilson of UNC-Chapel Hill, Ian Wilson of Charlotte, NC and Erin Wilson of Asheville, NC; parents, Wayne Clayton Wilson, Sr. and June Brion Wilson of Mills River; sister, Diane Lamm of New York City, NY; niece, Ashley Barclay of Atlanta, GA; nephew, Eric Bending of Mount Pleasant, SC and many aunts and uncles. 

A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 10:30am at Basilica of St. Lawrence.  Father Boyd will be officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at Basilica. Mr. Wilson’s ashes will be scattered privately by the family at a later date.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Tuition Fund at Asheville Catholic School, 12 Culvern St., Asheville, NC 28804.

Special thanks to Lisa Ross for her love and compassion for Wayne during these last months.
