1960 view of Mansfield High School. Front section , formerly the gym
- converted to auditorium, was built about 1927 attached to the old Brick
School. In 1939, the Brick School was torn down and the new school built
surrounding the central gym. The 1939 section on left became the Junior High
School in the fall of 1959, and the High School is the new part on the right. |

Joseph "Joe" Harvey, age 54, of Covington, PA, passed away on Sunday, July 9,
2017 at his home. He was born on October 22, 1963 in Wellsboro, a son of Gordon
L. and Roberta (Robbins) Harvey. Joe was the husband of Rebecca (Lacy) Harvey.
He was employed as a mechanic at Ward Manufacturing. Joe was a member of
Mainesburg United Methodist Church. He was a veteran having served in the Army.
Joe enjoyed fishing, golfing, Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers, and Penguins,
spending time with his family and grandchildren. Survived by his wife Rebecca;
his parents, Gordon and Roberta Harvey of Mainesburg, PA; two daughters, Jessica
(Samuel) Jackson of Tioga, PA, Jennifer Harvey of Erie, PA; two grandchildren,
Lacy "techno" and Eloise "Pockets"; three brothers, Lawrence Harvey of
Mansfield, PA, Alan Harvey of Mainesburg, PA, Christopher Harvey of Buffalo, NY.
Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, July 13, 2017 from 4PM to
5PM at the Mainesburg United Methodist Church, 100 Smith Park Road, Mainesburg,
PA. A memorial service will follow at 5PM with Pastor Tim Parker officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory,

Carolyn "Sue" (Putnam) Age 54, of Stanten Island, NY, formerly of Mansfield,
PA, died Monday, October 18, 2004, at Staten Island University
Hospital - South in Staten Island, NY. She was the wife of Richard
Grandt. Sue was born on February 3, 1950 in Wellsboro, PA, the
daughter of Donald H. Putnam Sr. and Thelma (Bailey) Putnam. Sue
retired from Air Canada in 1999. She enjoyed her gardening, dried
flower pictures, jewelry, and her two cats. She is survived by her
husband, Richard Grandt of Stanten Island, NY; three brothers and
sisters-in-law, Robert B. and Eliene Putnam of Burdett, NY, Williams
R. and Lisa Putnam of Mansfield, PA, James E. and Debi Putnam of
Lawrence, Kansas; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Marilyn and
Delbert Doud of Mansfield, PA, Kathryn and Kenneth Clark of
Mansfield, PA; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by
her parents; and two brothers, Donald Putnam Jr., and Richard
Putnam. Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, October
24, 2004, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Jacquelyn A.
Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St.,
Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will be held immediately following
the viewing at 8 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Berg
officiating.
ROBERT GORDON WATKINS
Robert Gordon Watkins, age 23 of Mansfield, Pa died Sunday, September 3,
1972 as the result of an automobile accident. Survived by wife, June Harvey
Watkins; daughter, Penney Watkins at home, his mother and step-father, Mr. and
Mrs. Francis Sykora of Mansfield; four brothers, Eddie R. Watkins, with the US
Army in Fort Hood, Texas; Bruce, John and Dale Sykora, all of Mansfield; four
sisters, Mrs. John Keltz of Beaver Valley, NY, Mrs. George Dapp of Millerton,
Miss Bernadette and Miss Claudette Sykora of Mansfield; several aunts and
uncles. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Shaw and Robena Funeral Home
in Mansfield. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery.
