Ralph John
Age 61 of Mansfield, PA died Tuesday, December 4, 2001 at Robert
Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA. Ralph was the husband of Margaret A. "Peg" (Gordon)
Cleveland. He was born on April 29, 1940 in Mansfield, PA the son of Ralph O.
and Bernice R. (Frank) Cleveland. Ralph retired from the US Postal Service after
33 years of service. After his retirement he worked part time for the First
Citizen National Bank as a courier. He became a HAM operator in 1976, held an
extra class radio license KF3Q, volunteered for S.T.P.R. for many years; the
Laurel Festival Parade, Wellsboro, PA, was a volunteer examiner for ARRL. Ralph
was a first responder for the Mansfield Ambulance Association, treasurer of the
Mansfield Hose Company Auxiliary, a member of the Tioga Co. Amateur Radio Club,
and a US Army veteran. Ralph is survived by his wife, Margaret "Peg", a son and
daughter-in-law R. John and Kelly Cleveland of Elk Grove, CA, a daughter and
son-in-law, Paula A. and Christopher Clemens, of Wellsboro, PA, 3 grandchildren:
Nicole, Stephanie, and Lauren Ashley Cleveland all of Elk Grove, CA. a sister
Marie Cummings of Wellsboro, PA, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ron and
Kathy Gordon, Mansfield, PA, Ruth I. And Joseph Wales of Millerton, PA; several
nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends are invited to call on
Thursday December 6th, 2001 from 6 to 8 pm and on Friday, December 7th, 2001
from 10 to 11 am at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory &
Monuments, PC. 637 S. Main Street, Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will be held
on Friday immediately following the viewing at 11am at the funeral home with the
Rev. John Whitfield officiating. Burial will be in the Roseville Cemetery. In

SARGENT, Eugene C. - Eugene C. Sargent, age 76, of Tioga, PA, died Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center, Elmira, NY. He was born April 11, 1940 in Mansfield, PA, a son of Frank and Florence (Barnes) Sargent. Eugene was a self-employed dairy farmer, enjoyed hunting, fishing, planting trees, coon hunting, enjoyed his grandchildren especially watching them race go-carts. He was the owner/operator of Sargent's Dairy Bar in Jackson Summit, PA. Eugene was a US Army veteran and served during the Korean War. Eugene is survived by 3 sons, Nathaniel (Stacy) Sargent of Canton, NY; Bradley Sargent and Travis (Kim) Sargent, all of Tioga, PA; 2 daughters, Holly Sargent of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Rebecca (Chris) Figueroa of Stewartstown, PA; 4 sisters, Ruth Thomas, Betty (Joe) Thompson, Joan (Bob) Heichel and Joanna (Jack) Shaw, all of Mansfield, PA; 9 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; 7 brothers, Leo, Neal, Douglas, Frank, Jr., Bobby, William and Richard; a sister, Frances Burnham. SHAW - JOAN A. SHAW COWLES, 60, of Mansfield died Sunday, April 23, 2000, at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro. Born April 19, 1940, in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Edson and Nellie Smith Shaw. She was a self-employed hairdresser and a member of the Mainesburg United Methodist Church. Preceding her in death was her husband, Donald, in 1997. Surviving are her parents of Mainesburg; two sons, Scott of Mainesburg and Shawn of Mansfield; one brother, Edson Shaw, Jr. of Troy; one sister, Nancy Kent of Mansfield; and one granddaughter. Calling hours were held Tuesday, April 25, at the Wilston Funeral Home, Mansfield. Funeral services were held there Wednesday, April 26, with the Rev. Edmund Minnich and the Rev. Howard Woodruff officiating. Burial was made at State Road Cemetery, Mainesburg.

Auto Death Halts Marriage – Mainesburg Man Killed in Crash 6 Days Before Wedding – Terrence E. Skoreski, 23, of Mainesburg, who was to be married next Saturday (17 Aug. 1963), died Sunday (11Aug. 1963) at 5:07 PM of injuries received earlier in the day when his car overturned twice on Rt. 6 near Mansfield. Mr. Skoreski was engaged to Miss Sandra Townsend, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Arthur Townsend of Mansfield. He was the son of Mrs. Delores Skoreski of Mainesburg and the late Mr. Skoreski. Mr. Skoreski died at Blossburg State Hospital where he was taken at 2:15 AM. Death was attributed to head and neck injuries. Trooper Joseph E. Cole of the Mansfield State Police substation said Mr. Skoreski was driving east to his Mainesburg home when the car went out of control on a curve two miles east of Mansfield. The 1963 Pontiac went off the left side of the highway, hit an embankment, crossed a private driveway and rolled over twice before coming to rest on its top. The car was demolished. Mr. Skoreski was a graduate of Mansfield High School and a 1963 graduate of Mansfield State College. He was to start teaching at Olean next month. He worked part-time at the A&P store in Mansfield.
SKORESKI – Terrence Skoreski, 23, of Mainesburg, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 1963. He was a member of the Mainesburg Methodist Church. Survived by mother, Mrs. Delores Skoreski of Mainesburg; sisters, Mrs. Wilbur Crumb of Horseheads, Miss Candy Jo Skoreski at home; brothers, Dial and Kurt Skoreski, both at home. Body at Shaw & Robena Funeral Home, Mansfield. Calling hours: today 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral there Wednesday at 2 PM, the Rev. Richard V. Landis and the Rev. Richard Jones. Mainesburg Cemetery.

James D. Wilson, 44, of 212 East Main St., Mansfield, died Friday, Aug. 30,
1985, in Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro. Born Dec. 7, 1940,
in Richmond Township, he was a son of James W. and Idamae Kibbe Wilson. He was a
member of the First Baptist Church. Mr. Wilson also was a member of Mansfield
Fire Department and Ambulance Assn. and Lambs Creek Sportsmen's Club. He was a
23-year employee of Ingersoll Rand, Painted Post, NY, where he worked as a
mechanic. Surviving, besides his parents, of Mansfield, are his wife, the former
Claire Hill; two daughters, Mrs. William (Diana) Page of Mansfield, and Miss
Michelle Wilson, of Blossburg; two sons, James W., of Renovo, and Michael V., of
Blossburg; three stepsons, Douglas Mickelson, of Oklahoma City, Okla., Carey
Mickelson, of Franklin, NJ, and Tracy Mickelson, of Mansfield; a brother, Thomas
E., in California; a sister, Mrs. Sylvia Lynch, of Olean, NY, and a grandchild.
The funeral was held Monday, Sept. 2, at the Scureman Funeral Home, Mansfield.
Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery, Mansfield. The Rev. Benjamin E. Nevin, his
pastor, officiated.
