ANDREWS, Gerald J. - Gerald J. Andrews, age 78, of Mansfield, PA, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2017. He was born on June 11, 1939 in Blossburg, a son of Ernest "E.B" Andrews and Margaret (Sweet) Andrews. Gerald was the husband of Delphia (Hammock) Andrews. He was a US Veteran having served in the Army, 101ST Airborne. He enjoyed playing horseshoes. He is survived by his wife, Delphia; a son, Richard "Rick" (Kathy) Andrews of New Freedom, PA; three grandchildren, Christopher, James , Jennifer; five great grandchildren, Kaedin, Brycen, Austin, Aiden, Justin; two brothers, Gary (Sandy) Andrews, Steve Andrews both of Wellsboro; four sisters, Linda (Louie) Covert of Wellsboro, Debbie (Danny) Neal of NC, JoAnn (Gene) Andrews of Dayton, OH, Betsy (Larry) Tokarz of Mansfield. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Donald Andrews. A private graveside service will be held in Bath National Cemetery at the convenience of the family. BENSON –JEANNINE
B. BEARDSLEE age 57 of 4846 Cross St. died Wednesday September 19, 1997 at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, Pennsylvania. She was born January 12, 1940 in Frost Settlement, Pennsylvania to Earl and Bernice Webster Benson. She was a graduate of Mansfield State College in 1961 and of Corning Community College in 1982. Jeannine was a 2nd grade teacher at Bradford Central School, Bradford, NY. She was a member of the Bradford Teachers Association and the Campbell United Methodist Church, Campbell, NY. Along with loving and enjoying her students she was a great enthusiast of pets and flowers. She is survived by her husband, Wayne Beardslee; one son, Andrew Beardslee of Liverpool, NY; one daughter, Tricia (Scott) Spencer of Vienna, Virginia; one brother, Gordon Henson of Hampstead, Maryland; one sister, Elenor Mest of Manhattan, Montana and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Seager Funeral Home, Main St., Savona, NY today September 12th from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Saturday, September 13th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Sunday September 14th at 2:00 p.m. at the Campbell United Methodist Church, Campbell, NY with Rev. Finley Gray officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Campbell, NY. Bolt, Donald R.,
Sr. Age 65, of Jobs Corners, Pa, died November 17, 2004, at home. He was born September 9, 1939 in Sayre, Pa., the son of Harold and Eloise Smith Bolt. Donald is survived by his wife of 40 years, the former Amanda Grover; three sons and daughters-in-law, Donald J. and Crystal of Millerton, Pa., Ronald and Renee of Gillett, Pa., Robert and Tracy, stationed in Korea with the U.S. Air Force; Three brothers, Jack of Mainesburg, Pa., Jesse of Lawrenceville, Pa., Fred of Mansfield, Pa., and ten grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, David. Donald was a retiree of Sysco, Horseheads, NY, and the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. He was a member of the Tioga County Early Days. Friends are invited to call at the Gary Wilston Funeral Home, 18 N. Main St., Mansfield, Pa., Sunday 2-4 p.m. Funeral services will follow there Sunday at 4 p.m., with Rev. Kenneth Marple officiating. Burial in Tioga County Memorial Gardens, Mansfield, Pa. Family will provide the flowers. RHENDA J. CUMMINGS
Mrs. Rhenda J. Kennedy, 47, of 5027 Watkins Road, Millport, N.Y., died Thursday Dec, 24, at the Arnot- Ogden Hospital in Elmira, N.Y., after an extended illness. Born Feb. 19, 1940 In Lawrenceville, she was much loved and respected by her family and count-less friends. A graduate of Mansfield High School, she was an employee of the Horseheads Central School and was an active member of the Pine Valley Baptist Church for many years. Surviving are her husband of 29 years, William R. Kennedy; daughter, Christine J. Kennedy of Elmira, N.Y.; three sons, Daniel W, of Burlington, Vt., David A. of Horseheads, N.Y. and Douglas R. of Elmira, N.Y.; grandchildren, Jared and Tiffany Lynn Kennedy; mother, Mrs. Louise Cummings of Pine Valley; father, Duane Cummings of Wellsboro; sister, Mrs. Janet Sloppy of Dayton, Ohio; brother, Alan Cummings of Columbia, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews. Friends called at the Barber Fu-neral Home, 413 South Main St., Horseheads, N.Y. Saturday, Dec. 26. Funeral services were held at the Pine Valley Baptist Church Sunday, Dec. 27. The Rev. Alan B. Brown officiated. Interment was made in Lawrence Corners Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Pine Valley Baptist Church, to hopefully erect a steeple, which was Rhenda's fervent desire.


DOUD Delbert A. "Del"

Age 67, of Mansfield, PA, died Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital in Wellsboro, PA. Del was the husband of Marilyn (Putnam) Doud; they would have observed a 42nd wedding anniversary on June 12, 2007. He was born on July 29, 1939 in Mansfield, PA, a son of Walter and Norma (Corwin) Doud. Del retired from the Northern Tioga School District after teaching the 5th grade for 26 years at the former Millerton Elementary School. He was a member of the East Lawrence Baptist Church, the PSEA-R, and the NEA-R. Del served in the Mansfield National Guard. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. Del often referred to himself as the "frustrated farmer". His favorite hobbies were raising beef animals, chickens, and gardening. Del is survived by his wife, Marilyn; a son and daughter-in-law, Matthew Delbert and Jennifer Doud of Lawrenceville, PA; a daughter and son-in-law, Ann Marie and Scott Burke of Lawrenceville, PA; four grandchildren, Madden Doud, Erin, Elizabeth, and Sarah Burke; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Bruce and Shirley Doud of Pekin, IL, Brian and Ruth Doud of Mediana, Ohio, Verne and Jean Doud of Mansfield, PA; and a sister-in-law, Nancy Doud. Delbert was preceded in death by a brother, Stephen Doud. Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, April 21, 2007, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Jacquelyn A. Victor Perry officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Mansfield, PA. Frank Emmett Hamilton of Brunswick died at age 79 on Monday, July 30, 2018 at his home in the loving presence of family.  He was the son of the late Loren J. Hamilton and Zelma Rose of Mansfield, PA.  He was a member of Whiteville United Methodist Church, where he served as a Lay Leader and Sound Board Coordinator and participated in several committees.  He was also very involved in the Cape Fear Emmaus Community and helped with many ‘Walk to Emmaus’ weekends.  He also joined his church brethren to attend many ‘Promise Keeper’ conferences.

After 23 years of active military service in electronic computer system maintenance, he retired from the U.S. Air Force with the rank of Master Sergeant in 1980.  He then immediately started a second career with IBM as a customer service engineer, retiring after 17 years in 1997.  During his military service, he was highly decorated with the following honors:  AF Commendation Medal (20LC), AF Good Conduct Medal (50LC), Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, NCO Academy Graduate Ribbon, Army Good Conduct Medal, AF Longevity Service Ribbon (40LC), National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal (3 Bronze Stars), AF Presidential Unit Citation, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Meritorious Service Medal.

Survivors include his loving Wife of 54 years, Betty Spivey Hamilton of Brunswick, NC; Son, George Loren Hamilton (Karen) of Gastonia, NC; Daughter, Leslie Rose H. Parham (Randall) of Lake Wylie, SC; Sister, Betty H. Crippen of Mansfield, PA; Grandchildren Zachary Kyle Hamilton, Miranda Rose Parham, and Davis Nash Parham.

The celebration of life memorial service will be Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Whiteville United Methodist Church with Rev. Bob Hankins and Rev. Paul Stallsworth officiating.  Visitation will be prior to the service in the United Methodist Church Parlor from 10:00-10:45.    The interment of ashes will immediately follow the service at Whiteville Memorial Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Whiteville United Methodist Church.

HUSTED, DeAnna - DeAnna Morgan, age 78, of Mansfield, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Troy Community Hospital, Troy, PA. She was born November 30, 1938 in Mansfield, PA, a daughter of Joseph and Cleo Jane (Calhoun) Husted. She was the wife of the late Morris Fred Morgan who passed away in 2015. DeAnna was the owner and operator of DeAnna's Beauty Shop before she retired and continued to do hair occasionally after she retired. She attended the Church of the New Covenant in Mansfield; enjoyed crocheting, gardening, playing golf, bowling, reading, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Left behind to cherish her memory are 2 sons; Michael Morgan of Mansfield, PA, David and his wife, Cindi Morgan of Scottsville, VA; a daughter, Julie and her husband, Greg Yoder of Syracuse, NY; a brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Tsulan Husted of Kapolei, HI; a sister and brother-in-law, Mindy and Mike Yoder of Mansfield, PA; 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; a host of extended family and friends who she greatly cherished. LOREN M. KENDRICK, 79, of Mansfield, PA, passed away, September 15, 2018, at home. He was born July 15, 1939, in Covington, PA, the son of Ralph & Ora Harvey Kendrick. Loren was a retiree of Mansfield Borough. He was a life member of the Arnot Sportsman's Club, Hillside Rod & Gun Club & the Canoe Camp VFW. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, the former Patricia Creeley, 3 sons & daughters-in-law, James & Tamora Kendrick of Tioga, PA, Ronald & Cathy Kendrick of Athens, PA, Donald & Cynthia Kendrick of Millerton, PA, a sister & brother-in-law, Shirley & Jack Bennett of Bethesda, MD, 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, several nieces & nephews, & his beloved dog, Zoey. LONGBOTHUM Dr. Richard Lewis  {SRGP 85056]

On Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, Dr. Richard Lewis Longbothum, 73, of Severna Park, Md., died peacefully from a long-term heart condition.  He was a loving husband and father, a dedicated and skilled electrical engineer and a devoted and true friend.  He is survived by his wife, Deborah; their four children, Heather Little, Heidi Bridle, Trixy Gillespie, Richard McHenry Longbothum; and their seven grandchildren. He grew up with his brother, Ronald Longbothum, in Mansfield and enlisted in the United States Air Force after graduating Mansfield High School in 1957 serving his country, mainly overseas, for five years. He returned from service to pursue his lifelong passion for knowledge and education by obtaining dual bachelor’s degrees in mathematics and physics from Mansfield University followed by obtaining his bachelors, masters, and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering at Penn State University.  While at Penn State, he began his pioneering work in the field of millimeter waves and designed a radiometer that later flew on three space shuttles to measure water vapor to aid in the prediction of atmospheric chemistry. His technical expertise brought him to work at the National Security Agency (NSA) where he began his esteemed 36-year career. Among his many accomplishments and contributions to the electronic warfare community, he served as a SIGINT National Intelligence Officer (SINIO), received the National Intelligence Medal of Achievement related to his work in Desert Storm and received the AOC Pioneer Award for the Technology Hall of Fame in 2009. In his final position at NSA as a Chief Scientist of the Office of Strategic Intelligence Issues, he presented many technical briefings on emerging signal technologies to the Intelligence Community.  Visitations will be held at Barranco & Sons Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, Md. from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., on Friday, Jan. 11. A visitation will also be held at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 South Main St., Mansfield, from 2:to 4 p.m., with a service following on Sunday, Jan. 13. MUDGE - David Gene Mudge, 70, of Swissvale, Pa., died on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. David was born in Williamsport, Pa., to the late Irene (Traub/Wells) and Eldridge "Pete" Mudge on Nov. 26, 1939. He grew up in Mansfield, Pa., and graduated from Mansfield High School in 1957. He later graduated from Rochester Business Institute, and became a successful banker in St. Petersburg, Fla. David is survived by two brothers, Terry (Jane) Mudge of Mansfield, Pa., and James (Mary) Mudge of Beaver, Pa.; and a sister, Lucinda (Steve) Zientek of Mechanicsburg, Pa. Also, surviving nephews are Bradley J. Mudge, and Peter J. Mudge; nieces KimberLee Mudge, MacKenzie (Zientek) Read, and Jennifer L. Mudge; great-nephews Peter B. Mudge and Jacob T. Mudge; and a dear cousin, Lois Milinski of Elkland, Pa. David also leaves behind a long-time companion and friend, David Iovino of Pittsburgh.A memorial service will be held at a later date. RANKIN – Sharon Dawn Ward, 67, of Mansfield, died Friday, July 20, 2007 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro. Sharon was the wife of the late Jack C. Bailey who died June 23, 1983 and a long time companion of Dean Ward. She was born Dec. 14, 1939, in Mansfield, a daughter of Ross and Lena Sumner Rankin. Sharon was formerly employed at Mansfield University in the Manser Dining Hall. Her favorite past times were watching movies, drawing, art, refinishing furniture, and trivia. Sharon is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jimmy Bailey of Bath, NY, Todd and Tina Bailey of Mansfield; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jackie and Steve Antes of Wellsville, NY, Tara Jo and Jerry Copas of Sayre; her long time companion, Dean Ward of Mansfield; six grandchildren, Brittany Bailey, Hanna Bailey, Beth and Mark Antes, Kerstin Barnett, Michael Copas; and a brother, Phil Rankin of Wellsboro. REYNOLDS, Jerry Norman - Jerry Norman Reynolds, age 77, of Wellsboro, PA, passed away at his home Friday, December 23, 2016. He was born in Blossburg, PA on July 10, 1939 a son of James and Charlotte (Jones) Reynolds. Jerry was a veteran of the Air Force. He was a self-employed mechanic. Jerry is survived by 3 sons, Michael "Mike" (Pam) of Wellsboro, PA, Mark (Kate) of Pittsburgh, PA, Mathew of Phoenix, AZ; a daughter, Marci Reynolds of Covington, PA; a brother, Dale Reynolds of Covington, PA; a sister, Betty Goff of Wellsboro, PA; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Leona Bowen, 2 brothers, James and Robert, and his parents.
