The above Towsand were all children of John & Mate Decatur Towsand
Note: Date of 5 June 1938
Mrs. Mate Towsand, 87 formerly of 4 Ellis Ave, Endicott, died at 99 Franklin
St, Owego, Tuesday.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Lamprey of Port Dickinson,
Mrs. Marian Smith of Mountain Home, PA, and Mrs. Hazel Nichols of Owego; three
sons, William Towsand of Endicott, Clarence Towsand of Rochester and Edward
Towsand of Breesport; two sisters, Mrs Marian Hover of Owego, Mrs. Rena
Carpenter of Preble; two brothers,, Elton Decatur of Cortland, Ohio and Fred
Decatur of Florida.
The body wasremoved to the Estey and Munroe Funeral Home, 15 Park St, Owego,
where friends may call today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be
held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Clifford Elsbree of the
Owego Baptist Church will officiate.
