Swamp School in Blossburg |

| Although this is Labeled Swamp School, Blossburg PA, I suspect it was in
Bloss Township instead and not in the borough of Blossburg. Dated ca 1904.

November 2007 - On the page indicated above you have a picture of
the Swamp School. This building was located at the corner of
Granger and Lynd Streets in the Borough of Blossburg. The home
behind it is still there as well (located on Granger St). A
grandson of the owner still lives there.
The Swamp School was one of the elementary schools in Blossburg that began
with first grade (no kindergarten) in a shared room with second grade and I know
went through fourth but can’t say if it went into higher grades.
The information is from my aunt (Mary Catherine Shedlawski) that attended
this school.
