MANSFIELD STATE TEACHERS COLLEGE NEWS
Parents’ Day To Be held
Mansfield – The annual Parents’ Day of Mansfield State Teachers College,
when mothers and the fathers of students are entertained by the college will be
observed Saturday, Oct. 10. In charge of plans for the celebration are
Miss Dorothy M. Wasley, Dean of Women and a committee of students, composed as
follows; Miss M. Jean Daily of Genesee and Clarence E. Kemp of Shinglehouse,
co-chairmen; Miss Betty M. Ebinger of Weatherly, Miss Jeanne E. Farrar of
Morrisville, Miss F. Lenora Owens of Clearfield, Donald L. Ayres of Canton.
At 11 a.m. there will be a convocation in Straughn Hall, featuring greetings by Miss Dorcas J. Elchelbergr of Eldred, President of the Women’s Dormitory Council; remarks by Dr. Willis E. Pratt, President of the College, and music by the college symphonic band. Dinner will be served in the college dining room at 12:10 p.m., after which the grounds and the buildings will be inspected.
At 2:15 there will be the first football game of the season, Mansfield versus
Kutztown State Teachers College in Smythe Park; at 4:30 there will be a social
hour, affording the guests an opportunity to meet the faculty in the YWCA room,
North Hall. Supper will be served at 6 following which an informal dance
will be held in the Student Center with the Esquires, college dance band,
furnishing the music. At 8 there will be a showing of the sound picture,
