Nora, Bert, and Cora are the oldest of the five children of Jennie
Smith and John W. Styres. They had a younger sister, Effie, who married
Oley Mason and a younger brother, Roy (1887-1899) whoi was killed by lightening
at the family homestead the remains of which are shown at right. It is
on the North Road (now called Hulslander Road) in Sullivan Township. More

Nora did not marry. She died in 1957 and is buried at Gray Valley Cemetery
with her parents. Bert married Lulu G. Mason and died in 1961 in or near
Geneva NY. Cora married the photographer, John C. Bogardus. She died July
