 He married Loretta Elizabeth Heyler 8 MAY 1926 in Williamsport, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania.  (Loretta Elizabeth Heyler is #3623.)  Loretta was born 19 AUG 1900 in Blossburg, Blossburg Town, Tioga County, Pennsylvania.  Loretta was the daughter of William Frederick Heyler and Eva Barbara Metzger.  Loretta died 12 OCT 1977 in Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania, at age 77.  Her body was interred OCT 1977 in Watson Cemetery,Roseville, Rutland Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania.  Loretta liked to write poetry and she would do so for various special occasions or just for any reason. We have very few of her poems left. She was actively involved in the church activities and the women's organizations of Elk Run. She wrote the Elk Run news for the Mansfield newspaper for many years. She had such very curly hair that she would sometimes take a wet brush to it to settle it down some, but only temporarily. She was well loved by all who knew her.

 Gus was listed on the Elk Run School roll as a student in Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania ABT SEP 1901.   Gus was listed on the Elk Run School, Dist. No. 12 roll as a student in Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania 1902/1903.   Gus was listed on the Elk Run School, District No. 12 roll as a student in Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania 31 MAR 1905.   Gus was listed on the Elk Run School, District No. 12 roll as a student in Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania 1905/1906.   Gus was listed on the Elk Run School, District No. 12 roll as a student in Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania 1912/1913.

      Mirrell Augustus Welch and Loretta Elizabeth Heyler had the following children:

      2  i.  Norma Barbara2 Welch (#3626) was born in Blossburg, Blossburg Town, Tioga County, Pennsylvania.  She married Dewey E. Jamison 3 SEP 1948 Charleston, Charlelston County, South Carolina.  (Dewey E. Jamison is #3627.)  Dewey was born 5 JUN 1927.  Dewey is the son of Daniel Jamison* and Alice Jane Johnson*.
      3  ii.  Jimmy Weller Welch (#3624) was born in Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania 1.  He married Susan Ann Sundberg * 18 AUG 1962 in Mansfield, Richmond Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania.  (Susan Ann Sundberg * is #3625.)
 

Gus Welch and Loretta HEYLER Welch with dog Fury Note from Gus' daughter Norma: He (Gus) was in the Army in WW I for a short time.  He was working in Buffalo in some kind of plant and when the Draft Board sent notices to him at Bungy, Grandma sent them back saying he was needed on the farm so he was deferred. When he found out he did go into the Army but they apparently had the foresight to discharge anyone with less than 90 days of service so he never had actual veteran's status.  Norma.
