This star shape is most frequently used for Civil 
War and G.A.R. Markers, but I did find just this
one 1812 flagholder of this type
This is the most common of the 1812 flagholders
that I have seen. It is one that would be erected
in the present time.
This 1812 marker on a soldier's grave is probably
one provided by the National Society of U.S.
Daughters of 1812. It includes all the insignia
that is present on theit other markers
