These can be put in the book of wills of Tioga. I will provide a divider and an index to the deeds.
I managed to complete, hurriedly, the first book, before they were taken away to be micro filmed. I only had one day and didn=t always get the acreage in the long accounts but made every effort to get names, dates, places.
This was when Tioga County was Lycoming County, being formed 1804. Lycoming made from Northumberland 1795. Bradford County was then, Ontario and took in part of N.Y. up to Binghamton.
The original land grants to Wm. Bingham and Enock Blackwell, is probably in Northumberland County.
The agents, handling sales for Bingham were all Phila. Merchants. Annals of Phila. have the family, intermarried of Bingham, Willing, Baring.
Mark Wilcox was a Judge in Delaware County, Pa., whose biography is in Ashmeades History.
Enoch Blackwell who owned 12,000 acres of Tioga was born in England, died in Lycoming County 1816.
Senator Wm. Bingham b. England 1752, married Ann Willing, dau. of Thomas. Their daughters married the Barings.
Morris of Tioga County were from Lt. Anthony Morris of Philadelphia.
Many of the men involved in the land sales of Tioga are in the 1756 tax list of Merchants of Phila.
I would like to see the deeds carried up to 1861, as the wills and administrations
but I will never complete it, so I send you these to
1812.
