Last Will and Testament of Conrad Bernauer, dec’d

Last Will and Testament of Conrad Bernauer of the township of Gaines, County of Tioga, State of Pennsylvania.
I, Conrad Bernauer of the above named place being of sound mind and memory, do give and bequeath to my beloved children, my property as follows; to wit: I give my farm on which I now reside situated in the above named place to be divided equally between them all, except to Ida and Clarence, heirs of Morris Bernauer deceased, to each of them I give a share equal to each one of my own children and I desire the farm to be sold, and the proceeds to be divided as above stated, and the funeral expenses to be paid by the heirs equally together with the expenses of the Executors, except a piece of land known as the Grave Yard, which I forever reserve. To Huldah Bernauer my daughter , I give and bequeath one of my cows, She to have her choice in said cows, and also a quantity of feed sufficient to keep her through the Winter of 1870-71. Also, one bed stead, bed and bedding, Also what apples she wishes to dry said apples not to exceed one half of the crop for the present year, Also the beset set of chairs, and all the dishes and the rocking chair. To my son John Bernauer, I give and bequeath my part of the crops for the present year, excepting the part above disposed of Also my part of the pig being fattened on shares (?), Also all farming utensils Also I give my other cow to John Bernauer on conditions that he pay my subscription to the building committee of the Free Will Baptist Church on Elk Run now in course of construction said subscription being (25.00) twenty five dollars. Also to my son John Bernauer one bed stead bed and bedding. Also one set of chairs and the cooking stove, and parlor stove also. And I give also all of my young cattle not otherwise disposed of to my son John Bernauer on conditions that he pay the taxes assessed to me for the present year. Also all taxes against the estate assessed prior to this date. July 26th 1870.
I, Conrad Bernauer, do appoint William Tate and O.A. Smith of Gaines township, Tioga County, State of Pennsylvania to act as Executors of my estate.

This day, before me, Darius L. Deane, Register for the Probate of Wills and Granting Letters of Administration in and for said County personally came John H. Barnhart and Isaiah Champney the subscribing witnesses to the within Will, who being duly sworn according to law, do say that they were personally present and saw and heard Conrad Bernauer, the testator in the within Will named, sign, publish, pronounce and declare the within instrument of writing as for his Will and Testament, and that at the time of so doing, he was of sound mind, memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge and belief.
