Jan.2nd 1935 - 7 below zero this morning.A beautiful day.Creig and Osmer went back to school this morning,vacation over.Zelma and Orey W. out another week account of measles in school.All of my children had measles nine years ago.
Jan.3rd 1935 - Cold.Beautiful AM.High wind in PM and night. Went to Mansfield with mail in morning,back at noon.Went to see about getting on relief.
Jan.4th 1935 - 6 below this morning.Pleasant but very cold all day. Worked for A.E.Benson in PM.

Apr.24th 1935 - Cool wind.Creig still sick.Worked in cemetery all day. Found our calf dead this morning.She was a pretty calf. Orey had brushed her every day till she almost shone. She was two months and a half old,fat and growing fine.It is discouraging trying to have anything. Our cow is poor and lame,worth nothing. The children's mother still lives with old man Wilcox an old ----- master.

May 30th 1935 - Memorial Day. A beautiful day.Orey W. and I worked in garden and about the house all day.Zelma had toothache most of day. Creig and Osmer's school out today at noon.They went to Job's Corners to play ball in PM.
May 31st 1935 - Pleasant AM.A shower in PM.Creig worked in cemetery,Osmer
in garden.I worked with Osmer in AM.In PM helped John Benson plant
potatoes.While I was away,Orey W.picked up what of his clothes he could
find and left a note saying he had gone to live with his mother.
Jun.2nd 1935 - Cold morning.Fine day.Washed a little.Loafed more.Had our first picnic under the old beech tree(first for 1935).
Jun.3rd 1935 - Warmer.Partly cloudy.Threatened rain.Creig worked in cemetery and Osmer in garden.I helped Osmer and built gate so could take cow to creek.Went down town on school business in evening.Anna's birthday.
Jun.4th 1935 - Rained in morning.Cloudy all day.Worked in cemetery in PM.Creig and Osmer went fishing in AM.Went to school meeting in evening at the home of Georgia Cook.

Jun.18th 1935 - Cloudy,misty all day.Long steady shower in evening.Worked in cemetery till about 4 PM,when mower broke.Osmer worked with me.Came home,built rabbit pens.Creig and Zelma went to Mansfield in AM.Creig hoed garden in PM.
Jun.19th 1935 - Cloudy,low sky.In evening rained hard.We washed in AM.In PM I went up to Leon Reynolds to see about pay for cemetery work.Boys went hunting woodchucks.Zelma went to church to practice for children's day.

Reynolds is treasurer of Cemetery Assoc. Creig worked for Benson. Had school meeting in evening. Auditor found a shortage which he traced back to the 1933-34 treasurer,who is dead.

They are having a party for him at his son's home in Big Flats,N.Y. I wanted to go but had no way to get there. They have taken the bus from our road to Elmira.

They used large machines that crushed rocks to a grade used in the hard road building. Many a stone wall went into these rock crucshing machines. Dec.23rd 1935 - Cold and snowy.Spent AM at Mandevilles. In PM went shopping and up to see Vivian where she worked 401 N.Main St.Back to Mandevilles for supper.Vivian came over to supper,then we all went to Christmas doings of the Nazerene S.S.Vivian had a part in the Young Peoples Pageant.
Dec.24th 1935 - Partly pleasant but cold.Came home.Started about 10 AM, depended on getting rides,walked 15 of the 20 miles.In evening went to Roseville Christmas tree,where Orey W.had a part.
Dec.25th 1935 - Christmas.Cold,cloudy.Snowy evening.Children and I home alone all day.Had rabbit pie for dinner.A good lot of presents.Everyone had a good time.
Dec.26th 1935 - Zero morning.Cold and snowy all day.Creig and Osmer did chores for Rouse.I ironed and did a little house work.
Dec,27th 1935 - Zero but partly pleasant.We cut and drew wood.
Dec.28th 1935 - 2 below this morning.Washed.
Dec.29th 1935 - Osmer's 16th birthday. 16 below this morning. Zelma and Orey went to S.S.this morning.
Dec. 30th 1935 - About zero.Warmer in PM. Cut wood.
Dec.31st 1935 - 2 below zero in morning.Pleasant day.Drawed wood in PM. Began work on grave for Clark Colby.
