1880 19-Oct D VanNess, Henry P. Died on the 2nd inst Henry P. VanNess died. He was born at Amsterdam, Montgomery Co., NY Nov 23rd 1797. In 1830 he left Amsterdam and came to Rutland twp., Tioga co. He married when 20 yrs of age to Miss Kate Vosburg, who was nearly his own age. Survivors are his wife and five children. (Children's names were not given)

1881 15-Nov D Voorhess(Reid), Mrs. Margaret M. Mrs. Margaret M. (Reid) Voorhess, died at her home in Daggett's Mills , in this county, Oct 29th 1881 aged 79 yrs and 3 mos. She was born in Morris Co., NJ., and there resided until her marriage with Aaron Voorhess in 1820. She removed to Daggett's Mills 6 yrs, after her marriage. Seven years later her husband was shot, accidentally while deer hunting in the forest that surrounded their home. She was left with 4 small children...She gave them a good education...The family consists of Mrs. Ellen Seales, Mr. John V. Voorhess, Dr. Charles Voorhess, and Mrs. Mary S. Smith, wife of Dr. N. Smith. She had 10 grandchildren

He was an engineer at Linton's planning mill, South Saginaw. He had been recently a student in the Graded School in Wellsboro and left for the West at the close of the winter term in 1880. The funeral was held in Stony Fork yesterday. He was about 23 yrs of age
