ADAMS Milton S. Adams
age 90, of Horseheads died
Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at St.
Joseph's Hospital in Elmira. Milton was born in Hornby on September 18,
1920, the son of Clarence R. and Edith (Burnapp) Adams. His wife, Betty
Rhoda-Adams, predeceased him in 1998. He was retired from the Department
Of Defense, in 1980 where he had worked as an Industrial Specialist. He
served in the Navy from 1943 to 1946. He is survived by his three nephews,
Robert, Thomas, and John Rowley all of California, and one cousin Bertram
Rhodes of Florida. He is also survived by many close friends and neighbors.
Milton was predeceased by two sisters; Ruth Rowley and Lillian Adams, and
one brother John Adams. A committal service and burial will take
place in Goodsell Cemetery, Hornby on December 8th, 2010 at 11:00 am. Donations
in honor of Milton may be made to the First United Methodist Church of
Horseheads, 1034 W. Broad St, Horseheads, NY 14845or the Chemung County

BELCHER Judy Diane Rude
66, of Montague, died
at St. Clares Hospital on Thursday, Dec.
2, 2010, after an eight-year-long fight with stage IV breast cancer. Born
on Sept. 9, 1944, Judy was raised in Lafayette, N.J., then lived in Towanda,
Pa., from 1978 until moving to Prescott Valley, Ariz. in 1996, where she
lived for two years before returning to Towanda. She had been a resident
of Montague since 2003. Judy was a lifelong member of Lafayette Federated
Church. A 1962 graduate of Newton High School, she obtained her RN at East
Orange Nursing School in 1965 and her Bachelor of Nursing from Elmira College
in 2005. Judy had a long and successful career as a Maternal Health/Labor
& Delivery/Pediatrics Nurse at Newton Memorial Hospital in Newton,
N.J., the Towanda area hospital in Towanda, Pa., and Yavapai County Hospital
in Prescott, Ariz. Judy was predeceased by her husband of 39 years, Richard
Rude, in 2004; Mom and Dad Belcher (Daisy and Sylvester); her father, Jess
Untalasco; her stepfather, Joe Hill; her brother, Fred Belcher; and brothers-in-law,
Richard Mertens, Jr., Bill Decker and John Larsen. She is survived by her
children, Diane Rude of Harleysville, Pa., Kyle and Julie Rude of Williamsport,
Pa., Kevin and Dyan Rude of Sayre, Pa., and Becky and Sheri Staples of
Rochester, N.H. She is also survived by her six loving grandchildren, Lauren,
Connor, Emma, Kaden, Keegan, and Karter; her mother, Helen Hill of Lafayette,
N.J.; her siblings, Sylvester and Shirley Belcher of Rapid City, S.D.,
Ida and Mel Carpenter of Lafayette, N.J., Mabel Mertens of Tampa, Fla.,
Edith Decker of Middleburg, Fla., Joan and Ed Green of Lafayette, N.J.,
Margaret Larsen of Lafayette, N.J., Ken and Joy Belcher of San Antonio,
Texas, Jess and Gloria Untalasco of Fajardo, Puerto Rico, and Keith and
Kelley Roberts of Prescott, Ariz.; her sister-in-law, Grace and Jim Phillips
of Towanda, Pa.; her good friend, Bob Cutler of Sparta, N.J.; and a great
number of loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held
at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Lafayette Federated Church, 180 Route 15,
Lafayette. Interment will follow in Branchville Cemetery. Visitation will

of Calhan, Colo., passed on Nov. 25. She was proceed in death by husband,
Harvey C. Barrowcliff and parents Walter and Ethel (Prymer) Benjamin. A
loving mother, grandmother and sister, she is survived by: daughter, Cindy
Saldana of Calhan, Colo.; and sons, Alan of Broomfield, Colo. and Martin
of Dublin, Calif.; siblings, Donald Benjamin, Jim Benjamin, Walter Benjamin,

79, of Forest Lake, Pa., died
, Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010 in Montrose,
Pa. Born May 12, 1931, in Middlebury, Vt., she was the daughter of the
late Herman and Ruth (Sears) Benoit. Patricia loved her family very much.
She enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting, needlepoint and quilting. The family
would like to thank Dr. Rucker and the wonderful caregivers who were also
her friends for all of their kindness and compassion. Survivors include
her husband, Allen Gillingham of Forest Lake, Pa.; daughters and son-in-law,

BENTON Karen J. Benton Rumsey
Loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, Karen J. Benton Rumsey,
64, died
peacefully on December 2, 2010 surrounded by family. Karen
was born on February 2, 1946 in Kew Gardens, New York. She was a 1963 graduate
of Athens High School and retired in 2002 after working many years as a
legal secretary. She was predeceased by her parents Jean E. Larson Benton
and John T. Benton and her sister Beth L. Benton. Karen is survived by
her husband of 41 years Ronald, daughter Marie (Alfred) Mack, son Seth
(Danielle) Rumsey and her grandchildren Nathan, Noah, Nevin Mack, Jared
and Krianna Rumsey. She is also survived by siblings Barbara (Larry) Nichols
and Thomas (Karen) Benton, cousins Marjorie Hall and David Hall, nieces
Heather (Jamie) Westbrook, Jennifer (Louis) Judson III, Jill (Michael)
Hines and nephews Luke Nichols, Mark (Jennifer) Benton and Todd (Elaine)
Benton. Karen enjoyed gardening, flowers, birds, taking bus trips to Canada
and within The United States and spending time with her family. She bowled
regularly in two leagues and was a member of the Waverly 600 Club. Karen
bowled in several state and local tournaments and a couple national tournaments.
She was a member of the US Bowling Congress and the Cedar Chapter No. 400
Order of the Eastern Star. She loved her grandchildren more than anything
in the world. Karen will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her corneas
were donated to The Rochester Eye Bank for the benefit of another person.

Susie B. Keltz, age 90, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, December
1st. Mrs. Keltz was predecased by her husband, Paul, in 1985. She is survived
by her daughter, Donna Goodwin with whom she resided, son Steven (&
Ileana) Keltz, special grandson Mike Cadek, as well as three additional
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, "daughters" Shirley Mizener
and Linda Peckally. Mrs. Keltz was a member of the Elmira Seventh Day Adventist

BRUSZEWSKI Clifford D. Bruszewski
78, went to be with his Lord and Savior whom he served faithfully on
Monday, Nov. 29, 2010 at the Robert Packer Hospital after a long battle
with failing health. Cliff was born in Flushing, Queens, N.Y., on Oct.
7, 1932. Cliff served in the United States Marine Corps for three years,
serving his country in Korea. For 25 years of his life he was employed
by the city of New York Police Department as an auto mechanic and manager
for plant maintenance. Cliff retired in 1988 and moved to Pennsylvania.
Cliff is survived by: his wife of 56 years, Alice (Eby) Bruszewski; sons
Clifford Anthony of Troy, Pa., and Kevin of Center Reach, N.Y.; and daughter
Donna Marie Bruszewski-Tsiknas of Troy, Pa. Cliff was blessed with seven
grandchildren. Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday,

CARPENTER Ralph E. Carpenter
71, of Sayre, Pa., died
on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010 at home following
an extended illness. He was born May 10, 1939, in Little Falls, N.Y., the
son of the late Clarence and Alma Smith Carpenter. Ralph served in
the U.S. Army as an SFC for 20 years, having served three years in Vietnam.
He loved Syracuse and Notre Dame basketball, was an avid golfer, and enjoyed
doing family genealogies. Ralph was a member of Shepherd Hills CC, Skiff
Bower Post No. 1536 VFW, B.P.O.E. Lodge 1148, American Legion, and Roma
Madre Lodge No. 1342 Sons of Italy. He is predeceased by: his brothers
John Claude and Robert Donald Carpenter; and his sisters Bernice June Zaffarano,
Clara Mae Braccini and Eunice Roberta Braccini. Ralph is survived by: his
wife of 52 years, Andrea Elizabeth (Papaleo), at home; two sons and their
wives, Marque Lon and Anne Marie Carpenter of Waverly, N.Y., and Stephan
Anthony and Linda Ann Carpenter of Sayre, Pa.; daughter Monique Leith Carpenter

90, of Mansfield, PA, died
December 4, 2010 at Hospicare, Ithaca,
NY. She was born May 9, 1920 in Williamsport, PA, the daughter of Estella
P. Chandlee. Kathleen was a retired Notary and Tag Agent. She is survived
by a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Karyl Otruba of Mansfield; a daughter,
Sue Ellen Stuart of Ithaca, NY; four grandchildren, Bobbi Lynn White of
Mebane, NC, Jason Cole of Ithaca, NY, Victor Otruba of Mansfield, and Ariel
Otruba of Philadelphia, PA; three great-grandchildren, Marie Cole, Brandon
Sailor White and Ashley Grace White. She was predeceased by her husband,

CLARK David B. Clark
Age 73 of Horseheads, NY died
on Tuesday December 7, 2010 unexpectedly.
David was born July 22, 1937 in Northampton, MA the son of the late Louis
and Louise Spencer Clark. He was a graduate of Northampton High School
and received his Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from The University
of Massachusetts and his Master's Degree from Syracuse University. He was
a veteran serving his country with The US Air Force from 1959-1963 attaining
the rank of Captain. David married his wife Lorraine Anderson Clark on
April 3, 1959 and she pre-deceased him in April 1992 after 33 years of
marriage. David was an engineer at Rome Development Center at Griffiths
Air Force Base in Rome, NY and retired as a Supervisory Electrical Engineer
from Rome Laboratory on June 3, 1996. He was a communicant of St. Matthew's
Episcopal Church in Horseheads, NY. David is survived by his son and daughter-in-law:

COLVIN Bruce E. Colvin
of Baldwinsville, NY., died
on Saturday December 4, 2010 at
the age of 62. A longtime resident of Ulster Park, NY, Bruce worked for
IBM for 40 years. A graduate of Case Western Reserve University and Syracuse
University, Bruce was an enthusiastic gun hobbyist and proud life member
of the NRA. In addition, Bruce was a former Eagle Scout, lifeguard, and
an active member of the Amateur Radio Relay League. A dedicated and highly
respected computer programmer, Bruce also enjoyed spending time with his
family, and especially enjoyed playing with his young grandson, Christopher.
Surviving are his daughters, Tara (Michael) Page of Camillus, NY, Charisse
Colvin of Vestal, NY, brothers Kendal (Cynthia) Colvin, Keldon Colvin,
Ted (Karen) Colvin and a sister Candi Banks all of Ohio, a grandson Christopher
Page, several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was pre-deceased
by his parents, Don and Donna Colvin. He will be dearly missed by all.

CONOWALL David P. Conowall
62, of Greensboro, died Monday, December 6, 2010 at his home. A private
service will be held for the family and close friends. David was born November
21, 1948 in Philadelphia, PA, the son of Joseph Conowall and Elizabeth
Ann Breslin Conowall. David was a veteran of the US Army, serving in Vietnam
where he became a recipient of the bronze star. He was employed as a consultant
in the travel industry and enjoyed entertainment, especially singing karaoke.
Surviving are his sister Shirley Loftus and husband Bob of Philadelphia,
PA, and his brother, Stephen Conowall and wife Kathy of Jacksonville, FL.

Age 41, of Nelson, PA, died
December 4, 2010. He was born October
2, 1969 in Wellsboro, PA, the son of Claude and Connie Kirk Cook. He was
employee of Elkland Borough and active in the Elkland Little League. He

CORRELL Mary M. Hudler, 72, of Covington, died Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro. Mary was born July 20, 1938, a daughter of Harrison and Sally (Markum) Correll. She was a WalMart associate for 10 years before her retirement. Mary enjoyed doing puzzles and playing Yahtzee. Mary is survived by four sons and two daughters-in-law, Jimmy Harrison (Christeen) Hudler of Covington, Tommy Allen Hudler of North Carolina, Matthew (Angie) Hudler of Lancaster, Mark Hudler of Covington; 10 grandchildren; four-great-grandchildren; a sister, Gladys Estacio of Oxford. Age 46, of Elmira, NY, died
on Sunday, December 5, 2010. He
is survived by his parents, Alonzo Crone and Linda (Crone) Bailey; daughters,
Darcy Crone and Pamela (James) Peckham; brother, Frank Crone; along with
several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends

CROWELL Nellie Mae Blodgett
Corning, N.Y. — Nellie Mae Blodgett age 76, of 154 Pritchard Avenue,
Corning died Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at home in Corning surrounded
by her children and grandsons. Nellie was born in Riverside, California
on July 31, 1934, to Delbert and Ethel May (Smith) Crowell. She married
William Blodgett in 1983 and was preceded in death by him in 2003. She
was employed by MWR Exchange in San Diego, CA, as a supervisor. Nellie
was well known for her love of playing Bingo in Big Flats and Gibson.
She is survived by her two daughters, Debra (Robert) Hooper of Corning
and Ethel May Rosenwinkle of Yuma, AZ; three sons, Cary (Nancy) Johnson
of Tulsa, OK, Robert (Marvila) Sharpe of Mechanicsburg, PA, and Edward
Sharpe of Corning; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren; great great
grandchildren, Keyonna Sutherland and Brayden Gray Nellie was predeceased
by her sister Shirley Holmes. Services will be held at the convenience

CUNNINGHAM Therese Cunningham Miranda
46, died Monday, Dec. 6, 2010 at her home. The daughter of Marjorie
Green Cunningham and the late Joseph E. Cunningham, Therese grew up in
Waverly, NY, moved to Albany, N.Y. in 1985 and to Voorheesville in 2002.
She was a graduate of Waverly High School, received an Associates Degree
from Erie Community College, a Bachelors of Science Degree from the University
of Buffalo, where she met her husband, and a Master's Degree in Education
from SUNY Albany. For the past 16 years, she has been employed at
Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, N.Y. where she was a Professor
and Senior Clinical Coordinator in the School of Dental Hygiene and served
on the HVCC Academic Senate. Therese was active in her children's
education and enjoyed volunteering at the Voorheesville schools.
She was President of the Friends of Music at the Voorheesville High School
and past Treasurer of the New Scotland Soccer Club. Therese was the
wife of David P. Miranda. Other survivors include her children, William
Miranda, Justina Miranda and Samuel Miranda; and her siblings, Mary Beth
Thomas, Barbara Uihlein, Kathleen O'Connor, Joseph Cunningham, Jr., James
Cunningham and Michael Cunningham. Her funeral mass will be celebrated
at 10 a.m. Friday morning at St. Matthew's Church, Mountainview St., Voorheesville.
Relatives and friends are invited to a service receiving her body at the
church at 4 p.m. on Thursday. Visiting hours will then continue until
7:30 p.m., at which time a service of closing prayers and sharing of memories

DACEY James L. Dacey
age 79, died
into eternal rest and heavenly peace November 22,
2010 at the home of his friend Bob Darling of Penn Yan, NY. He was the
son of the late Leo and Ethel Dacey of Elmira Heights, NY. James was a
sergeant in the US Army and later worked as a radio announcer and engineer
for many years. He is survived by his son, James; and stepdaughters, Alexis
and Andrew, whom he loved very much. He is also survived by his brothers,

unexpectedly Friday, November 26, 2010,
from complications after an extended illness. She was born in Elmira, NY
on May 24, 1946, was a graduate of Career Academy in 1964 in Washington,
DC and was a licensed/registered medical assistant and phlebotomist. Mrs.
Peck also was a former employee of Wal-Mart and Dillards. She worked at
Arnot Ogden Hospital and was active in 4-H. Patricia was preceded in death
by her father, Kenneth Dewey; and granddaughter, Brittany Eddy. Survivors
include her husband, Larry of 44 years; son, Aaron (Carrie) Peck, Endicott,
NY; daughter, Diana (Nile) Eddy; mother, Louisa Dewey; brothers, Ken (Marjorie)
Dewey, Bob (Ella) Shelters; four grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces and
nephews. A memorial service is planned for Monday, December 6, 2010, at
11:00 a.m. at the Pleasant Grove Methodist Church, SW State Road 47. In

the infant son of Steve and Rosemarie (Stankiewicz) DeWitt, came into the

to his Heavenly home after a fleeting moment on this earth. A Mass of Christian

DILL Irene M. North
73, of Harrison Valley, PA, died unexpectedly on Friday, December 3,
2010 in her home. Born July 28, 1937, in White Hall, MD, she was the daughter
of Ralph Robert and Irene Mae Brown Dill. On November 4, 1954, in Parkton,
MD, she married Jerrold L. North, who survives. She was employed by the
Northern Potter School District for many years, retiring in 1999. She was
a member of the Harrison Valley Federated Church, where she served as organist,
and the PA Association of School Retirees, holding many offices. Irene
served as Harrison Township Board of Election Majority Inspector and as
a field technician and Potter County coordinator for the West Nile Virus
Project. Surviving besides her husband, Jerry, are: two sons, Jerrold L.
(Monica) North, Jr. and Benjamin Scott (Cindy) North, both of Harrison
Valley; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters,
Joyce Sites of Edgewood, MD, Deborah (James) Hackler of Felton, PA, April
(John) Shimkanin of Ulysses, PA; a brother, William B. (Mildred) Dill of
Stewartstown, PA; a sister-in-law, Esther Dill of New Freedom, PA; and
nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by
a granddaughter, Megan North; and a brother Robert Jerry Dill. Friends

ELLENBERGER Ryan Ellenberger
of Canton, Pa., died
very unexpectedly on Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010,
he was 26 years old. Born on Nov. 7, 1984, in Sayre, Pa., Ryan Michael
was a son of Debriah (Bowling) Ellenberger and the late Lanny M. Ellenberger.
He was a 2004 graduate of Canton High School. Ryan truly cared about people.
Though sometimes private, he overcame many obstacles in his life. Ryan
will be lovingly remembered for his fun-loving personality and unique warm
smile. His passion in life was his love of music and he played in a band
named "One Summer/Tyrants Execution" for a time. Ryan was a great fan of
the Buffalo Bills football team. He also enjoyed watching Mixed Martial
Arts, and in younger years, Professional Wrestling. He was a member of
PPI (Paranormal Phenomena Investigation). Surviving are his mother, Debbie
of Canton; twin brother, Josh Ellenberger; a sister, Monica Ellenberger;
and niece, Aurora Ellenberger, all of Canton; close friends, Archie Vroman,
Benny Vroman, Jay Baumunk and Mike Porter; special cousins, Jamar Aiken
and Dixie Aiken; a special uncle and aunt, Roscoe "Bugs" and Linda Bowling
of Canton; step-grandmother, Nevada Bowling; numerous extended family and
dear friends. Also surviving is his devoted canine companion, Kaylee. Ryan
was predeceased by his father, Lanny on Feb. 24, 2004; grandparents, Merle

FIELDS John Lavern Fields
was born May 21, 1938 in Williamsport, PA. He passed from this life
on Friday, November 26, 2010. John (Jack) Fields graduated from Canton
High School in 1956. He graduated from technical courses for his
work. He worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad as a signalman until 1958,
for North Penn Telephone until 1979 and retired from TDS TELECOM in 2000.
He died at his home in Indiana surrounded by his family. John's wish is
to be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later time by
his family and friends. Surviving are: his wife, Betty (Baker) Fields;
their children: Debra (husband Larry Smith) of Pennsylvania, Diane (husband
Clay Begley) of Kentucky, and David (wife Wanda) of Indiana; grandchildren:

FOREST Robert (Bob) Laurent Forest
beloved father and husband, died on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 in Waverly,
NY. He was 67. Bob was born on April 11th, 1943 in East Hawkesbury, Ontario
to J.G. and Anita Forest; the fourth of five children. He came to Waverly
with his parents in 1958, and graduated from Notre Dame High School in
Elmira, NY. After high school he enlisted in the US Navy, serving as radioman
aboard the USS Snohomish County (LST-1126) during the Vietnam War. Following
his career in the Navy, he travelled, from Canada to the Caribbean, alighting
briefly in Tallahassee, Florida in 1968. There he met his future bride,
Chongchit Vacharothayangkura; the couple married in a ceremony in Thailand
in 1969, before settling in Waverly in 1970. They had two children, Paul
and John. Bob pursued many interests during his time in Waverly, spending
time as a biblical scholar, poet, and philosopher. He spent 15 years working
with his father & sister at International Stock Foods, Inc. as a purchasing
agent. He is survived by his wife, two sons, and four siblings, wife,
Chongchit of Waverly, NY, son Paul of Irvine, California, son, John of
Waverly, NY, brother Jacques of Salem, OR, brother André of Binghamton,
NY , sister Monique, of Jasper, GA, and brother Charles, of Prescott, AZ.
He is also survived by his daughter in law, Chandra Forest of Irvine, CA.
and granddaughter, Kaelynn Rose Forest, also of Irvine, CA. A time

at her home on Russell Hill Road, Watkins Glen, NY on December 4,
2010 with her family at her side. She was born in Elmira, NY on July 10,
1933. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Harry E Stoddard Sr.;
sons, Harry (Nettie) of Kissimmee, FL and Waterloo, NY, Charles (Lorie)
of Watkins Glen, NY; and daughter, Beverly (Brian) of Mesa, AZ; brother,

FURMAN Amy Jean Jasielonis
Softly in the morning, you heard a gentle call, you took the hand God
offered you, and quietly left us all... Amy Jean (Furman) Jasielonis, 83,
of Cady Avenue, Nichols, went to her heavenly home and was reunited with
her husband John on Friday, Dec. 3, 2010. Amy is survived by: her children,
Debora J. (John) Stubecki and Gregory J. (Kim) Jasielonis; her special
canine companion Sheba; brother Graydon (Judy) Furman; sister-in-law Hedwig
Markham; and many nieces, nephews and their families also survive.
Amy was born on Feb. 27, 1927, in Endicott, a daughter of the late Crayton
J. and Grace P. (Millheim) Furman. A giving and caring person, Amy
will be remembered for sharing from her heart to so many. She treasured
the time spent with her family and having Sheba to comfort her. For many
years, Amy was a school bus driver for the Tioga Central School District.
A gathering for family and friends will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. on Monday,

State University. Doug was a former employee of Bendix and retired from
IBM, Owego following 30 years of service. Loving to be outdoors, Doug spent
time on many area farms as a youth. He enjoyed trapshooting, tieing his
own flies, fly-fishing and hunting with his sons, and being surrounded
by his family. His fond memories also include, a trip to Labrador fly-fishing,
traveling to Alaska with Lila in 2009 and wintering in Florida. He will
be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Family and friends are

after a long courageous battle with leukemia. She was a beloved wife, mother,
grandmother, sister and friend. She touched the lives of many and will

55, of Capistrano Beach, CA died
unexpectedly from a head injury
, Sunday, October 31, 2010. Born August 8, 1955 in Sayre, PA, to William
and Lyndall Jackson Homet, Bill is survived by his parents; his loving
wife of 28 years Kathleen Watt Homet; his sister Kaye Homet Stamp (Michael);
his brother Stephen; nieces Jennifer , Andrea and Jamie Homet, Allison
Stamp; and nephew Brian Stamp. A graduate of Towanda High School, Bill
made his way to sunny southern California and gave up winter weather for
good. A mechanical designer, he specialized in medical device design and
development, and was instrumental in four start-up companies in the medical
device industry, helping to design and develop everything from bioresorbable
materials to devices for laparoscopic surgery and orthopedics, and then
to see them into production. Since 2007 Bill worked as a consultant with
Design Development & Fabrication in San Clemente, CA. His hobbies and
interests included deep-sea fishing, cabinetry and woodworking, and the
LA Angels baseball team. Bill was a good man who was a friend to everyone,
a kind and gentle person who left behind a wide circle of very good friends
and neighbors. He and his wife hosted block parties and backyard barbeques
for all the neighbors, young and old alike, and his presence will be missed
by all. A memorial gathering was held in Capistrano Beach earlier

Dorothy was born June 3, 1937 in Pittston, PA, a daughter of Michael and
Dorothy (Dixon) Hudock. She was the wife of Vincent Smichowski. Dorothy
was a registered nurse for Laurel Health until her retirement. She was
a member of Holy Child Catholic Church. Dorothy loved going to the beach,
reading, spending time with her children and grandchildren, was a published
poet and a member of Robert Packer Hospital School Alumni Assoc. Dorothy
volunteered for Red Cross Blood Drives, and was an avid Men's Tarheel basketball
fan. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 52 years, Vincent; a son and
daughter-in-law, Joseph and Cynthia Smichowski of Bethlehem, PA; three
daughters and sons-in-law, Paula and Steve Tacka of Bel Air, MD, Michele

JAYNES George "Gary" Jaynes
59 of Ithaca, died December 7, 2010 at home surrounded by his loving
family. Born June 1, 1951 in Corning, NY, he was the son of the late Raymond
W. Jaynes and Helen L. Bassett. Gary worked in property management for
many years. He was environmentally-minded and enjoyed repurposing common
items into new uses. Gary pursued interests in history and genealogy, although
his family was always his primary investment. Gary is survived by his wife
of 32 years, Josephine; sons, Duane (Sarah) Hall, Shane (Tracey Schmidt)
Jaynes; daughters, Tracie (David) Emmert, and Nicole (Mark) Waterman; grandchildren,
Samantha, Lorin, Liana, Aidan, Jacob, Zachary, Mark and Hailey. In addition,
he is survived by brothers, Bill (Alta) Jaynes, Raymond W. (Rosemary) Jaynes,
Ronnie (Sharon) Knapp; sister, Nancy (David) Radka; mother-in-law, Julia
Kennedy; sisters-in-law, Marylou (Michael) Hosek, Mrs. Richard Jaynes,

JOHNSON Helen K. (Johnson) Schweiger
86, of Waverly died
peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010. Born
in Towanda, Pa on March 5, 1924, she had resided in Barton, NY for over
50 years. Helen was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
She was a good friend to many over the years and her kindness was enjoyed
by all. She was also an excellent cook and enjoyed gardening, camping and
being a homemaker. Helen was predeceased by her husband Bill Sr.,
son Curtis, and her sisters Angeline Johnson, Carrie Benjamin, Mary Schwartz,
and Ethel Vanderpool. She is survived by her son Bill Jr. and wife Sharon
of Avon, Ct., her son Edward Schweiger and wife Judy of Spring Hill, Florida,
as well as her sister Kathryn Hunter of Sayre, Pa. and brother Isaac Johnson
of Monroeton, Pa. She is also survived by her six grandchildren as well
as several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. The family wishes
to thank all who made Helen comfortable in her last days including the
staff at Elderwood Nursing Home and the Robert Packer Hospital. The family

80, of Sayre, Pa., died
Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010 unexpectedly
following a brief illness. She was born May 13, 1930, in New Albany, Pa.,
the daughter of the late Stanley and Clara Dean Kilmer. Mabrey was a Gold
Star Mother as her son Richard L. Maynard Jr. was killed in action in Vietnam.
She was employed for years with Sayre House Inc. She is predeceased by
her husband Richard L. Maynard Sr. in 1998, and her son Richard L. Maynard
Jr. in 1970. Mabrey is survived by: her son Terry Alan Maynard of
South Waverly, Pa.; daughters Sandra Marie Maynard of Sayre, Pa., and Lori

age 78 died
suddenly on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 while visiting
her daughter in Raleigh, NC. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday,
December 11, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Odessa Baptist Church, Maple Avenue,
Odessa, NY 14869. Marietta was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on December
2, 1931, to the late Elgene Knisley and Kathleen Knisley. She moved to
Hamburg, NY at a young age and graduated form Hamburg High School. Marietta
was a very loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived
by her loving husband of 50 years, Howard Searles; her son, Alan Searles
of Ketchum, Idaho, and daughters, Carol Thomson (Rich French) of Enfield,
NY and her children Shannon and Aaron; and Mary Beth (James) Huber of Raleigh,
NC and her children Bryan and Timothy. She is also survived by her sister
Kathleen Blackburn of Baltimore, MD and brothers-and sisters-in-law: Frederick
(Patricia) Searles, Christine Milne, Dorene (Edward) MacDonald, Marion
(Richard) Buck and Isabel (Jack) Mroczkowski. She is also survived by many
loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Elgene and
John Knisley. Marietta was a long-time member of the Odessa Baptist Church.
She retired from Cornell University and also worked for several attorneys
in Watkins Glen, Elmira and Geneva. She was for former President of the
Watkins/Montour Zonta Club and volunteered for several years at Schuyler
Hospital and the Dutton S. Peterson Library. She was also a Brownie and
Girl Scout Leader for many years. She loved working in her flower gardens,
painting, and traveling with her family and friends. In lieu of flowers,

55, of York, Pa., is gone but not forgotten. She died
Monday,
Nov. 29, 2010 at York Hospital. Carol was born on Dec. 12, 1954, in York,
Pa., the daughter of loving parents, Michael Anthony Lagunowich and Dorothy
(Kandl) Lagunowich, of York, Pa. She enjoyed life, appreciating the people
around her and the experiences she had, and often shared the memories of
her adventures with her family. With her mother and her father, Carol had
the opportunity to travel the world, seeing many places, including Russia,
Japan, Panama, Machu Pichu, England, Scotland, China, Greece, Italy, Easter
and Pitcairn islands and Alaska. From these places she enjoyed collecting
souvenirs. On holidays, she and her family would share photos and slideshows
and tell of their adventures. Carol also greatly enjoyed reading. She was
also gifted in music, playing three instruments, the harp, the autoharp
and the piano. She was an excellent travel companion, because she gave
accurate directions to destinations without consulting a map. While not
off traveling the world, she spent her time working at Shadowfax in York,
Pa. as an engraver for more than 20 years. She is survived by: her aunts,
Lorraine K. Fowler of Rome, Pa., Betty and Chuck LaPlante of Massachusetts
and Lillian Bloem of Oregon; cousins, Deborah M. Fowler of Rome, Pa., Ray

age 71, of Rafferty Road in Painted Post, NY, died Wednesday, December
1, 2010, at her home. Sally was born in Romulus, NY, on November 10, 1939,
to Gordon and Ethel (Brown) Lapp. She married Richard Noyes in 1984
in Painted Post, NY. She was employed by Corning Incorporated for
over 19 years and retired in 1999 as an inspector. She loved gardening
and spending time with her family. A few things she enjoyed were

Age 78, was born in Elmira, NY on May 6, 1932 and died December 7,
2010 in Clermont, FL. He served honorably in the Air Force, retired with
30 years service to Martin Marietta and retired this past April with 15
years of service to Walt Disney World. A member of the American Legion,
UAW, Antique Automobile Club and Central FL Square Dance Association. He
was a regular at the Saturday Night Cruise at Old Town in Kissimmee, FL.
Survived by wife of 53 years, Leona B. Lutz of Orlando, FL; daughter, Ginger
Lutz (Tony) Ross of Winter Garden, FL; and son, Kenneth (Stephanie) Lutz

Julia loved to bake, and she baked and decorated all of the birthday and
wedding cakes for her family. She also enjoyed ceramics. Julia was employed

MARTIN Martha J. Ward, age 80, of Addison, died
on Saturday,
November 13, 2010 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Elmira. Martha was born on
December 8, 1929 in Addison, the daughter of the late Ward and Mae (Hendley)
Martin. She married Rexford G. Ward on June 28, 1959 at the family
cottage on Keuka Lake. Martha graduated in 1947, the first class
at Addison Central School. She was a homemaker who loved her family,
reading, and doing crosswords. She was a lifetime member of the Addison-Woodhull
Chapter of the Eastern Star. She is survived by two sons, John (Deanna)
Ward of Addison, and Patrick Ward of Addison; one sister, Pauline Lewis
of Corning; nephew, James Lewis of Ohio, and several other nieces and nephews.

Was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. 91,

the Hospice Care Center in Lexington, KY. Born in Simpson, PA, she

as a librarian from the New York Public Library system in Elmira, NY, prior
to relocating to Kentucky in 1984. She was an avid golfer, sports fan and
loving mother. She is survived by three daughters, Alice (Kenneth)
Johnson of Lexington, KY, Nancy (Jonathan) Warner of Burke, VA and Marie
McCarty (Michael and son, Taylor) of Reston, VA; a granddaughter, Katie

at Tioga, Waverly. Kenneth was born March 10, 1931 in Athens, Pa., the
son of the late Stanley and Edna Hunsinger Rogers. Kenneth was honorably
discharged from the U.S. Army in 1954 after his tour of duty in Korea.
He enjoyed working with wood making numerous yard ornaments for his family
and he helped his brothers build their homes. Kenneth was predeceased by
his first wife Jean Warner, stepson Mike Keysaw, and brother Stanley Rogers.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Katherine at home; son Ronald Rogers
of Athens, Pa.; daughter and son-in-law Debra and Greg Mitchell of Sayre,
Pa.; stepsons Paul Keysaw of Athens, Pa., and Kenneth Keysaw of South Waverly,

78, lifetime resident of Ralston, Pa., died
Sunday, Nov. 28,
2010, at Broad Acres Nursing Home in Wellsboro. Born on Dec. 21, 1931,
at the family home in Ralston, he was one of six children of the late Alfred
Sr. and L. Irene (Teribury) Route. Paul Roy was employed at Blossburg's
Ward Foundry until retirement. He was a member of the Ralston United Methodist
Church for more than 25 years. In 2006, Paul Roy was honored with the Ralston
Volunteer Fire Company's Firefighter of the Year award and was very proud
of his 58-plus years of devoted service. Paul Roy loved his nieces and
nephews as his own children. He will be remembered as a great storyteller
who always liked to visit with everyone. In earlier years, he enjoyed hunting
and the outdoors. Surviving are his brother, Gordon (Dawn) Route of Roaring
Branch, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Paul Roy was predeceased
by four siblings: infant Betty Jane, Anna Mae Vroman, Alfred "Stub" Route
Jr., and James Route Sr.; also his devoted canine companion, Ginger. Calling

by his wife, Neena Shah and their children, Beena Parekh, Biren Shah and

Formerly of Elmira and residing in Bath, NY died
unexpectedly
at his home following declining health on Friday November 26, 2010. Born
on June 30, 1958 in Elmira, Robert was the son of the late, Richard A.
& Helen Mayo Shook. Bobs passion in life was bowling. He was well known
and developed many close friendships around the sport. He enjoyed traveling
to the annual American Bowling Congress National Tournaments. He was previously
employed by Lowell Warters Pro Shop, Crystal Lanes, Corning; and Flamingo
Bowl, Liverpool, NY. Surviving is his loving brother and sister-in-law,

died
on Dec. 8, 2010. He was born on Dec. 30, 1925. He is survived
by his wife, Althea Sinsabaugh; daughters, Diona Wells of Endicott, Christina
Reed of Batavia, Kathy Tunnicliff of Endicott, Karen and Fran Harper, Joanne
and Richard Grier, and Lona Sinsabaugh of Waverly; sons, Irving and Pam
Sinsabaugh, and Ricky Sinsabuagh; 23 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren,
nieces and nephews; and his sister, Phyllis and Bruce Emmerck. He was predeceased
by a daughter, Cindy Miller. He served in the Army in the Korean War, and
served in Germany. She was employed by Robert Packer Hospital for over
30 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.
Calling hours will be held at Saturday, Dec. 18 from noon to two p.m. at

December 8, 2010 at the Sayre House,
Inc. Dorothy was born May 21, 1921 in Sayre, Pa., the daughter of the late
Anthony and Lena Mitchell Sperduti. Dottie enjoyed drawing, painting and
gardening also enjoyed participating in the Sayre House activities where
she resided for the last two years. Dottie was predeceased by her husband
Leonard in 2002 and four sisters, Loretta, Mary, Josephine and Gertrude.
She is survived by children John Soprano of Sayre, Pa.; Jimmy Soprano of
Owego,N.Y.; Elena (Jeff) Toner of Perio, Ariz; grandchildren John A. (Tammy)

age 56 of Blountstown, FL, died

by his loving family in Panama City, FL. David was born on August 28th
1954 in Elmira, NY and had lived in Blountstown since 2005, coming from
Port St. Joe, FL. He was a painter and cabinet maker by trade and enjoyed
fishing, hunting and time with his family and friends. David was preceded
in death by his brother, Gary Stump and father, Paul Stump, both of Elmira.
He is survived by wife, Penny Stump of FL; daughter Jessica (Chris) Cain,

more than 10 years before moving to Lowville. Jennifer has battled Cystic
Fibrosis since she was an infant. She enjoyed plants and flowers, especially

Marjorie was born on June 25, 1933, in Elmira, N.Y., the daughter of Dudley
and Isabel (Barton) Tice. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Smith.
Marjorie is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Joseph and Tina
Loudenslager of Elmira, N.Y., Larry Loudenslager of Elmira, N.Y.; three
daughters and a son-in-law, Donna Loudenslager of Covington, Tammy and
Colby Bellows of Tioga, Loretta Loudenslager of Malaysia; three half-brothers,
Bill Kriner of California, David Kriner of Phoenix, Ariz., Wayne Tice;

He was very dedicated to his job, he was on call 24 hours a day and did

loved gardening, and enjoyed watching sports and he liked exercising. His
hobbies were wood working, he was handy. Peter was a "Jack Of All Trades".
He built clocks and furniture and he refinished furniture. He loved using
and collecting tools. He also did repair work at church. He so enjoyed
being with his family, and he was very passionate of his dogs. Peter was
a perfectionist, he was patient, active, social, but enjoyed quiet alone
time. He was helpful to others, Peter was a volunteer on a Christian Medical
Mission in Honduras. Peter's visitation will be on Tuesday from 2-4 and
7-9 pm at Bartolomeo & Perotto Funeral Home, 1411 Vintage Lane (between
390 & Long Pond Rd.) His Funeral Service will be celebrated Wednesday

YONKIN C. Jacob (Jake) Yonkin Jr.
C. Jacob (Jake) Yonkin, Jr., 64, of Dushore, died Saturday, Dec. 4,
2010 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. He was born in Sayre,
Pa., on April 24, 1946, a son of Carl and Florence Kast Yonkin. He married
the former Mary Denise McDonald on June 13, 1970. Jake graduated from Sullivan
County High School in 1965. He worked at Glenn Plott's garage and delivered
coal for Royce Molyneux. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during
the Vietnam era. After serving his country, Jake was hired at P & G
in Mehoopany working in the Pampers division. He retired in 1997. Jake
was an active life member of American Legion Post 996 in Dushore. Over
the years, he held the positions of Post Commander and Sergeant at Arms,
and served on the Board of Directors. He was also a life member of the
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 384 in New Albany. Jake loved spending time
with his family, watching NASCAR events, and hunting and fishing in his
earlier years. Jake was a member of the White Ash Land Association. He
was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Dushore, Pa. He
is survived by his wife, Denise, at home; a daughter, Karen (Mark) Evangelisti
of Mildred; a son, Daniel (Nicole) Yonkin of Sherrills Ford, N.C.; grandchildren,
Alison Evangelisti and Lukas Yonkin; a sister, Alberta (Royce) Molyneux
of Dushore; a sister-in-law, Marian Yonkin of Medicine Lodge, Kan.; and
several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Leon Yonkin

59, of Camp Hill, Pa., died Monday, December 6, 2010 at her home. Born
December 29, 1950 in Sayre, Pa., she was the daughter of Harold Young and
the late Charlotte (Billings) Young. After high school, LaVonne worked
at the Guthrie Clinic in Sayre and later relocated to the Camp Hill area
to work at Highmark Blue Shield. She recently retired from Highmark after
38 years of service. LaVonne was an active member of Christian Life Assembly
Church in Camp Hill. Surviving is her father, Harold Young of Camp Hill;
two aunts and uncles, Theresa and Herman Carringer of Camp Hill and Enid
and Wendell Lahr of Northumberland, Pa.; two stepchildren, Gregg Pearson
of Camp Hill and Marcie Julian of Etters, Pa.; along with several cousins.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara
Young. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 10 at

B. S. in Education from Syracuse University. Ruth was a charter member
of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Horseheads and served as church historian
for many years. She was also an active member of the Horseheads Women's
Club and served as president from 1976 - 77. Ruth's husband, John, preceded
her in death in 1985. She is survived by her sons, David and Robert Maurer,
and their spouses Nancy L. Maurer and Beverly Maurer, along with four grandchildren
(Keli Openshaw, Holli Maurer, Jeffrey and Amanda Maurer) and three great-grandchildren
