BAKER Neva Jane Trimble, 89, formerly of Green Ave., died Thursday,
Oct. 21, 2010, at Sycamore Manor. Neva was a United Methodist, a member
of the Lincoln Center Senior Citizens and enjoyed crocheting. Born Feb.
3, 1921, in Alvira, she was the daughter of Jacob McCall and Edith Pearl
Hauke Baker. Surviving are a daughter, Neva Witmer of Williamsport; grandchildren,
Denise Lee Witmer of Independence, Mo., Diane Christine Witmer of Linden
and Brad Witmer of Montoursville; great-grandson, Erik Witmer; great-great-grand
daughters, Tatyana and Aubryana Witmer; and a niece, Raeneda Barger of
DuBoistown.
Neva was predeceased by a son, John D. Trimble; a brother, Jacob Dunton
Baker; and a twin sister, Neda Jean Saar. Graveside services will be at
11 a.m. Monday at Twin Hills Memorial Park with Chaplain George V. Spencer
officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at Knight-Confer's,
1914 Memorial Ave. The family will provide the flowers and suggests donations

BARNES Kathleen L. "Kassie" Matusheski-Zalot
79, of 450 Center St., Williamsport, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010. Born
Nov. 14, 1930, in Somerdale, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Chester
and Eileen Gray Barnes. Kassie was the owner of the former Snack Shack.
She was a member of the Polish Club and enjoyed playing bingo and cards.
She is survived by her children, Susan "Sam" Forney of Cogan Station and
Charles Matusheski of Middleburg; a sister, Shirley Griffith; a brother,
John Swain; and four grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Chelsey, Olivia and Michael.
She was preceded in death by her husband Anthony L. Matusheski. In keeping
with Kassie's wishes, there will be no services. Memorial contributions
may be made to the Salvation Army, 457 Market St., Williamsport, PA 17701.

BARTLETT Esther B
Avoca — Esther B. Thompson, 95, of 4459 Thompson Lane, Town of Avoca,
died early Friday morning (Oct. 22, 2010), with her loving family at her
bedside.
Born in Avoca on June 29, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Charles
and Lena Bassett Bartlett. On Nov. 19, 1941 she was married in Avoca to
Rodney A. “Rod” Thompson, who predeceased her on March 17, 1999 after 58
years of marriage. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased
by her daughter, Donna M. Davis. A life-long resident of Avoca, Esther
was the oldest living graduate of Avoca Central School, class of 1935.
She was employed by various businesses in Avoca and retired from Mueller’s
Market. Esther was a life time member of the Order of Eastern Star, a member
of the Avoca Red Hat Society and a past member of the Avoca Ladderettes.
Affectionately known as “Gramma” to everyone who knew and loved her, she
enjoyed cooking, camping, crocheting and farming. Besides her daughter,
Julia Brandow, her family includes, Belinda (Brian) Connor, Rodney (Stacey)
Lee, Robert (Betty Jean) Lee, Diane (Mark) Dunning, Deborah Knapp, Darla
(Joe) Hoffman, Bruce (Eugenia) Thomas, Jr.; her four closest grandsons,
Charles (Pam) Connor, Sean (Lanette) Connor, Rodney T. Lee and Andrew Dunning.
She also has 11 other great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
Calling hours are from 5-6:30 p.m. Monday at the Avoca Funeral Home, 22
N. Main St., Avoca, where a funeral and committal service will be held
following calling hours at 6:30 p.m. Monday with the Rev. William Spencer
officiating. Interment will be in Valley View Cemetery, Avoca. In lieu
of flowers, those wishing may contribute in her memory to their favorite

BEIDLER Elwin J. Beidler
90, formerly of Linden, died Monday, Oct. 25, 2010, at Manor Care North
following a brief illness. Elwin and his wife, the former Sara Jane Aderhold,
observed their 49th wedding anniversary on Sept. 3, 2010. Elwin was an
Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific and receiving the
Bronze Star. Elwin owned and operated Beidler's Garage and then went to
work for Bergren & Baier in South Williamsport until his retirement.
Born Feb. 26, 1920, in Bodines, he was the son of Warren W. and Blanch
D. High Beidler. Surviving in addition to his wife, is a daughter, Ina
Rae Little of Williamsport; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Elwin was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Harry Beidler. Graveside
services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Montoursville Cemetery, with the
Rev. Dr. Wayne L. Hepler officiating. There will be no visitation. The
family will provide the flowers and suggests contributions may be made

BERNDT Stephen Albert Berndt
65, of Williamsport, "Checked Out" Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010, at the Williamsport
Regional Medical Center. Born Aug. 30, 1945, in Williamsport, he was the
son of Irving Albert "Bud" Berndt Jr. and Dorothy Helen (Laylon) Berndt.
Steve graduated from Loyalsock Township High School in 1963. He attended
Massachusetts Bay Community College, IBM Education Center, Washington D.C.,
and Des Moines Community College. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp as
a Lance Corporal in Vietnam from 1964 until honorably discharged in 1967.
Steve started his career in hotel hospitality management in 1968. He held
various positions in the hotel industry nationally and internationally
over his 40-year career before retiring in 2008. He was a member of DeMolay,
Young Men's Republican Club and the Wheel Inn. Steve loved to travel, read
and enjoy a nice glass of bourbon. Surviving are his mother, Dorothy Helen
Laylon Berndt of Williamsport; sister, Barbara E. Horn of Williamsport;
nieces and nephews, Stacey A. (Michael) Drawbaugh of Williamsport, Robert
W. Bergman Jr. of Montoursville, Pamela E. (Mark) Shultz of DuBoistown,
Brian M. Horn of Williamsport, Sarah E. Horn of Montoursville; seven great
nieces and nephews and several cousins. He was preceded in death
by his father, Irving "Bud" Berndt Jr. and his sister, Nancy A. Bergman.

BLAND Julia G. "MeMe" Bland Metzger
62, of Jersey Shore, died
Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010, at her home.
She was born Oct. 10, 1948, in Ronceverte, W. Va., the daughter of Clarence
R. and Beaulah M. Walker Bland. Julia was the wife of the late Paul L.
Metzger, who passed in May 2010. She retired in 1994 from the Williamsport
Hospital. Julia loved to play bingo and cards. She was a loving and caring
mother and grandmother. Julia is survived by her mother, Beaulah M. Cloney
of Jersey Shore; a daughter, Donna L. (Sam Edwards) Hess, Linden; two sons,
John E. (Cathy) Hess of Williamsport and James Paul (Athina) Metzger of
Jersey Shore; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, Julianna Springman
and Emily E. Frank; two brothers, Kenneth L. (Sherry) Spencer of Saratoga
Springs, N.Y. and Gary Bland of Fairlee, W. Va.; also her dog Tennessee.
She was predeceased by a son, Jacob Leroy Metzger; a brother, Richard Bland
and a son-in-law, Ronny Herman. Relatives and friends are invited to Julia's

BRIMMER Eva Mae
Addison, N.Y. — Eva Mae Walker, 72 of Reservoir Hill Road in Addison
died on Monday, October 25, 2010 at Corning Hospital following a long battle
with cancer. She was born in Carbondale, PA on February 27, 1938 to Alonco
and Julia Brimmer. She married Grover “Sonny” Walker in Corning,
NY in 1957. Eva loved to cook for her family and is famous for her
pineapple cookies and sticky buns. She loved to watch her children
and grandchildren open their Christmas presents. She also enjoyed
collecting clowns, riding her scooter, playing dice and making runs to
Walmart at 2 AM. Survived by her husband Sonny; daughter, Penny (David
Jr.) Scouten of Addison; son, Perry (Birgetta) Walker of Tioga, PA; five
grandchildren; Casey (Francisco Labradore) Button of Addison, Arica (Dustin
Harris) Arnold of Addison, Samantha-Renee Scouten of Addison, Michael (Tanya
Osborn) Greenwell of Tioga, PA, and Jazmine Walker of Tioga, PA; two great
granddaughters, Alliee Grady and Hailliee Harris; many nieces and nephews.
Eva was predeceased by four brothers and one sister. Calling hours will
be held on Friday from 1-3 and 6-8 PM at Carpenter-Flint Funeral Home,
10 Wall Street in Addison where funeral services will be held on Saturday
at 3:00 PM with the Reverend Mary Upright officiating. Burial will
be in Addison Rural Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in her name

BRITTON Louise E. Howe
age 86, of Big Flats, died
on Sunday, October 17, 2010, at Bethany
Manor in Horseheads. Louise was born in Syracuse on February 22, 1924,
the daughter of Harry C. and Celia (VanBenthuysen) Britton. She graduated
from Syracuse University with a Bachelors degree in Home Economics. Louise
was retired from Glove House, Elmira in 1992 where she had worked as a
social worker. She was a volunteer with Girl Scouts, 4-H, and was a past
president of United Methodist Women. Louise also loved cross-country skiing,
gardening, and traveling. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Louise
is survived by her three daughters, Martha (Brett) Hoffman of Big Flats,
Linda (Tim) Kirkland of Waycross, GA, and Gail Pleasants of St. Petersburg,
FL. She is also survived by one son, Paul Howe of St. Petersburg, FL; two
brothers, Paul (Marilyn) Britton of Syracuse, NY, William (Joanne) Britton
of Syracuse, NY; several nieces and nephews; eight grandchildren; and eight
great-grandchildren. Louise was predeceased in death by a daughter, Nancy
Julia Howe in 1963; one sister, Jeanette (Lindsay) Bridge; and son-in-law
Tom Pleasants. A memorial service will be held at the Big Flats United
Methodist Church, 109 Hillview Drive, Big Flats Saturday, October 23 at
4 pm with Reverend Matthew Stengel officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations

BULLINGER Barbara Smith
67, of Trout Run, Pa., (Lewis Twp.), died
Friday, Oct. 22, 2010
from the Williamsport Regional Medical Center. Barbara Ruth was born on
May 20, 1943 in Albany, N.Y., a daughter of the late Andrew Joseph and
Ruth Emma (Batchelder) Bullinger. On Oct. 12, 1966, Barb married Walter
Smith in Norristown, Pa. Caring for her family and home was most important
in Barb's life. She also loved her pets and enjoyed nature's beauty, bird
watching and times spent traveling, especially to the beach in Avalon,
N.J. and the western United States. She was a member of the Trout Run Fire
Company's Ladies Auxiliary and the Community Theatre League in Williamsport.
Surviving are her husband of 44 years, Walt; a son, Darren (Kim) Smith
all of Trout Run; two grandchildren, Joshua (Amy) Smith and Dylan Smith;
three great-grandchildren, Kirra, Kaylee and Kadence and four brothers.
Family invites friends to call 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at the Mountain
View Fellowship Church, Old Barn Rd. in Bodines. A memorial service
and celebration of Barbara's life will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be

Lock Haven Extended Care. She was born July 9, 1925, in Lock Haven, the
daughter of the late Frank and Helen Capello. Vonda was a graduate of Lock
Haven High School. She was a lifetime member of the Elks and volunteered
with the Lock Haven Hospital Ladies Auxillary. She enjoyed gardening. She
is survived by a son, Francis Schriener (Carol) of State College; a daughter,
Robbin Smith (David) of Williamsport; and two grandchildren, Matthew Smith

CARLINEO James J. Carlineo
Sr., age 88, of 7009 Rumsey St. Ext., Bath, NY, formerly of Corning,
died Friday, October 22, 2010, at the Steuben County Health Care Facility
in Bath. Jimmy was born in Corning on July 22, 1922, the son of the late
Daniel and Mary (Santucci) Carlineo. He was the husband of the late Angeline
Bettone. They were married August 30, 1947, in Corning. She predeceased
him in 1997. Jimmy graduated from Northside High School in Corning and
served with the U.S. Coast Guard from 1942 to 1946. He was retired from
Corning Glass Works in 1984 where he had worked as a machinist for 43 years.
He was member of St. Vincent DePaul Church of Corning and a former member
of the Corning Elks Lodge and Marconi Lodge of Corning. He enjoyed golfing
and bowling and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived
by his two daughters, Mary Lou (Ronald) Wheat of Lyons, NY, and Laura Cieslica
(Jeffrey Clark) of Painted Post; one son, James Carlineo, Jr., of Corning,
NY; granddaughter, Kelly Wheat of Lyons, NY; grandson, Casey Wheat of Philadelphia,
PA; grandson, Matthew (Kelli) Carlineo of MD; grandson, Kyle Burrell of
MA; grandson, Keith Burrell of Rochester, NY; granddaughter, Courtney (Matthew)
Clark of Batavia, NY; granddaughter, Kelcie Cieslica of Rochester, NY;
two great-granddaughters; and brother, Frank Carlineo of Bath, NY. James

CARTER Mrs. Beth I. Dodge
59, of RR 1, Box 1837, Laceyville, PA (Black Walnut), died
at
Memorial Hospital in Towanda on Friday afternoon, Oct. 22, 2010, after
a lingering illness. Born in Meshoppen on Sept. 30, 1951, she was the daughter
of Jane VanGorden Carter Pierson of Retta and the late Orell Carter, who
died
on June 11, 1976. Growing up in Retta, Beth was a graduate
of Elk Lake High School, Class of 1969, where she was very active in sports,
especially basketball and softball. After high school, she would later
graduate from Keystone Junior College in LaPlume and Thiel College in Greenville,
PA. On Feb. 4, 1974, she married her husband, Charlie S. Dodge. For 21
years, they owned and operated Carter’s Market in Black Walnut, where they
lived right across the street from the store. Beth would retire and close
the store in 1997. During that time, the Dodges also had a band called
Dodge City. She played bass guitar and sang for the band, playing at many
events and parties for over 11 years. In her spare time and after her retirement,
Beth enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and loved her dogs,
especially her Chihuahua, Buster. She was a lifelong member of the Retta
United Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband of 36 years, Charlie
S. Dodge of Black Walnut; children, Marilyn Dewar of Three Bridges, NJ,
Ty and Margee Dodge, Chris and Vera Dodge and Dave and Jenn Dodge, all
of Tunkhannock; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is also
survived by her mother, Jane Pierson of Retta; two sisters, Cheryl Wiles
of Laceyville and Suzy Ball of Retta; a brother, Reid Carter of Stevensville;
two nieces; three nephews and many grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Also
surviving is a very special friend, Tina Pastusic, of Plains, who helped
her through the trying time of her life. Besides her father, she was preceded
in death by her daughter, Sandy McClain, who died
on Aug. 28, 2000;
her son, Chip Dodge, who died
on Jan. 27, 2009, and her stepfather,
Rip Pierson, who died
on June 19, 1996. Memorial services will be
held on Saturday, Nov. 13 at 1 p.m. at the Retta United Methodist Church
with Rev. Pat Newhart officiating. Interment will be in the Retta Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Beth to
the Humane Society of the donor’s choice or to the Alzheimer’s Association.

CHADDERDON Ruth Ann Wall
56, of 11 Charlotte St., Williamsport, died
Wednesday, Oct.
27, 2010, at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center. She was born March
2, 1954, in Williamsport, a daughter of DeWitt E. and Miriam E. Reber Chadderdon.
Ruth worked as a secretary at the Lycoming County Court House, was a member
of New Covenant United Methodist Church of Christ, enjoyed crafts, sewing,
and made beautiful dolls. She is survived by her son, Gerard R. Miles Jr.
of Williamsport; her brother, DeWitt E. Chadderdon Jr. of Warrensville,
and her sister, Sadonna M. Fink of Mooresville, N.C. The funeral
service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 1, 2010, at the Spitler Funeral
Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, with the Rev. Clara A. Benson officiating.
Interment will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park. Friends will be received
on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions

CRANE Teresa Ann Yarja
Bath, N.Y. — Teresa Ann Yarka, loving wife of Richard D. Yarka passed
unexpectedly Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Ira Davenport Hospital.
She was born June 8, 1947 in Bath, NY to the late William Manuel and Ella
Mae (Dickerman) Crane. Teresa was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great
grandmother. She worked for many years at the Twin Kiss in
Kanona, NY, which was family owned and at Phillips Lighting in Bath, NY.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Richard D. Yarka, along
with her daughters, Anita Clinton-Perez, Lucina M. Pygott, Corinna K. Hercyk
and Lisa R. Betty. Her beloved grandchildren, Veronica S. Clinton,
Megan R. Seifert, Chelsea Lynn Pygott, Nicole A. Moose, Jolynn E. Betty,
Olivia M. Clinton, Curtis A. Betty, Jacquelyn R. Seeley and Oliver Perez.
Great grandson Maddox Conrad. Also her sisters, Nina Loretta Wells (Rexie),
Erma Jean Hillhouse, Edna Brooks and Jeanette LeDieu. She was predeceased
by siblings, Lydia Finearo, Lillian Burlingame, Edward Crane, William L.
Crane, Franklin Crane, Ivan Crane, William M. Crane Jr., Richard Crane,
Dorothy Wilkinson and Thomas Crane. Also her beloved grandchildren,
Issac Moose and Vivianna Perez. Per her request, there will be no
public viewing or services. As she did not like to attend funerals
and certainly didn't want to make anyone else... She always said she wanted
to remember someone as they were in everyday life....That is how she would

Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010,
at Manor Care North, Williamsport, after a brief illness. Born May 31,
1929, she was a daughter of the late Eugene H. and Ruth E. (Sunderland)
DeWitt. She retired from Bailey Control on Reach Road, Williamsport, and
was an auxiliary member of the American Legion, Martin May Post 284, Avis.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold "Bud" E. Houser. Surviving
are her daughter, Connie L. (Rick) Tobias of Cogan Station; brother, William
(Ann) DeWitt of Linden; granddaughter, Jessica L. Tobias of Cogan Station;
and grandsons, Robert F. (JoAnn) Tobias and Nathan E. Tobias, both of Cogan
Station; as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held
7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport,

78, of Muncy, died
Friday Oct. 22, 2010, at his home. He was
born Oct. 18, 1932 in Moreland Twp., Lycoming Co., a son of the late James
U. and Jennie C. (Robbins) Eichenlaub. Oct. 27, 1951, he married the late
Beverly Mae Kile, who died
Feb. 2, 2008. A loving, caring father,
Elmer had worked for the former Sprout, Waldron & Co., Muncy for 37
years, retiring in 1990. Earlier in life, he had worked for PennDOT, had
been a logger, and had farmed his parent's farm from childhood until retirement.
He was a member of the Lairdsville Volunteer Fire Co., where he had served
as president and with the fire police. He enjoyed helping other people
and was known for his sense of humor. He is survived by the following children,
Carol L. (Chris) Reed, Muncy; Bonnie L. (Paul) Steiger, Montoursville;
James O. (Kathy) Eichenlaub, Unityville; Lydia J. Eichenlaub, at home;
E. Wayne Eichenlaub, Hughesville; Tony B. (Stacy) Eichenlaub, Lairdsville;
Gordon E. (Mary) Eichenlaub, Unityville and Keith C. (Erica) Eichenlaub,
at home; 14 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Gail (John)

Eichenlaub, of West Viginia. In addition to his wife of 56 years, he was

with Verizon in Norton, VA. She was preceded in death by her mother, June
(Chapman) Farrell. Surviving are her husband, Bruce Vanover, Jr.; her son,

at Exempla Nursing Home, Arvada, Colorado, on Saturday,
Oct. 23, 2010, following an extended period of poor health. She was born
on July 25, 1925 in Sayre, Pa., the daughter of the late Thomas and Marie
Farrell. She was a graduate of Epiphany School and Sayre High School, class
of 1943. She married Lawrence Rodney Ware on Aug. 12, 1945. She is survived
by her sister Frances DeCarlo of Syosset, N.Y.; Mary E. Novak of Waverly;
Genevieve (Dale) Waith, Mesa, Ariz.; Catherine (Fred) Horn of Sayre; Sally
(George) Stohlman, Temple Terrace, Florida and Rita (Leonard) Nassal, Apalachin,
N.Y.; two daughters and son-in-law, Ann and Dennis Baily, San Diego, Calif.,
Teri and Bob Brasnlett, Aurora, Colo.; one son and daughter-in-law Robert
and Reni Ware of Meridan, Idaho and six grandchildren Denise and Tom Hoover,

89, of Maple Avenue, died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010 at Manor Care Health
Services. Born Feb. 16, 1921 in Marysville, Pa., she was the youngest of
five children to Thomas and Lucy Fenicle. Priscilla was a graduate of Marysville
High School, and retired as a secretary from the former CPA firm of William
Spooler. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, William Gage, an adopted
son William of Rio Rancho, N.M., a grandson Michael Wright Jr. and a son-in-law
Michael Wright. She was preceded in death by her daughter Deborah Wright.

FRY Dean W. Fry
72, of Hughesville, died Monday, Oct. 25, 2010, at the Gatehouse after
a courageous battle with cancer. Born April 7, 1938, in Montoursville,
he was a son of the late Willard and Beatrice Reeder Fry. His wife of 35
years, the former Dorothy H. Barto, preceded him in death on April 24,
1995. Dean served his country honorably in the Army National Guard during
the Korean War. He retired from Centre Concrete in 2000 as a concrete truck
driver. His multi-talented employment history included tractor-trailer
driver for Strick Corp., welder for J & L Steel Company, wire rope
guider at Bethlehem Steel, just to name a few. He was a member of the Mt.
Zion Lutheran Church, Central Pennsylvania's Teamsters Union, American
Legion Post 35, Hughesville, 40 et 8 Highland Lake and the Muncy VFW. Dean
enjoyed spending time with friends and family camping, snowmobiling and
playing cards. Surviving are a son, Timothy D. (Kelly Peterman) Fry of
Hughesville; a daughter, Tami L. (Dean) Wertman of Hughesville; two sisters,
Evelyn Parke of Montoursville and Madeline Bachle formerly of Muncy; two
granddaughters, Tanya Fry and Meghan Little; and a very close friend, Shirley
Shaner. In addition to his parents and wife, Dean was preceded in death
by a brother, Dale Fry and two sisters, Thelma Parke and Rosella Miller.

Fry. Irene graduated from Williamsport High School in 1950 and was a member
of Muncy Kingdom Hall & Jehovah Witnesses. She was predeceased by her
husband of 54 years, Harvey N. Charles; a son, Harvey N. "Skeet" Charles
Jr.; a brother, Robert B. Fry and a sister, Shirley Bower. Irene

1947, she married the late Robert Eugene VanBuskirk, who died

89, formerly of Cogan Station, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010, at the
Williamsport Home, following an extended illness. Dorothy's husband, Charles
C. Greninger, died on Oct. 25, 1981. Dorothy attended the Christian Church
at Cogan Station. She loved collecting fine china, yard sales and especially
spending time with her family. Dorothy retired from Shop Vac in 1984, and
prior to that had worked for the former Pennsylvania Wire Rope. Born May
2, 1921, in Regina, Va., she was the daughter of Charles W. and Nealy R.
Hayslett Moore. Surviving are sons, Charles C. (Annette) of Reading, James
D., Roger L. and John S. (Gail), all of Cogan Station; daughters, Suzanne
(Gary) Farr of Williamsport and Becky J. (Albert) Stoppa of Montoursville;
brothers, Francis Moore of Williamsport and John (Joan) Moore of Columbus,
Ohio; seventeen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Dorothy

HAKES Karen "Pearl" M. Ritter
49, of Lewes, Del., died
suddenly on Monday, Oct. 18, 2010.
She was born April 18, 1961, in Heidelberg, Germany, daughter of Dorothy
M. (Charlton) Hakes of Williamsport, Pa., and the late Kenneth G. Bowers.
Mrs. Ritter graduated from Williamsport Area High School, and from Williamsport
Area Community College in Williamsport, Pa., with an associate's degree
in graphic design. Karen owned a number of businesses over the years which
stemmed from her artistic nature. In 1988, she became a wholesale distributor
for Meyda-Tiffany stained glass lamps. Karen and her husband Bob started
their own company, which continues to operate today called Donnybrook Sales
of Delaware. Karen loved to garden, create flower arrangements and wow
her family and friends with her culinary talents. She was considered a
gourmet Italian chef by many. Karen believed in the immeasurable goodness
of the Southern Delaware Therapeutic & Recreational Horseback Riding
(SDTRHR) organization; an organization to which she was committed and for
which she tirelessly raised funds. Karen was a true matriarch who will
be lovingly remembered and sorely missed. In addition to her mother,
Mrs. Ritter is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Robert L. Ritter;
two sons, Joseph G. Ritter of Milford, Del., and Robert Noah Ritter of
Lewes; a daughter, Sarah Ashlea Ritter of Lewes; step-father, Carl F. Hakes
of Williamsport, Pa.; brother, Kenneth Glen Bowers of Williamsport; sister-in-law,

Oct. 27, 2010, in the Gatehouse due to undiagnosed metastatic lung cancer.
Born in Watsontown, Northumberland County, Pa., on Saturday, Dec. 29, 1951,
she was the daughter of the late Guy and Laura (Snyder) Haught. Peggy attended
the City Church at Williamsport. She was a volunteer for Meals On Wheels
and Share the Food Program, helped with many Montgomery Lions functions
and in various other ways of community service. Her favorite things to
do were attending flea markets and yard sales, playing softball, where
she kept score and ran a concession stand for many years. Peggy enjoyed
knitting baby blankets, puzzles, Christmas time, vacations, her cats and
spending time with the grandkids. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law,
Laura and David Moore, Williamsport; one son, Charles E. Green Jr., Montgomery;
four grandchildren, Zachery, Elizabeth, Caleb and Rebekah; three brothers,
David Haught, Guy Haught and James Haught; and one sister, Betty Hagembach.
In addition to her lifelong companion, Charles E. Green Sr., who preceded
her in death on Oct. 29, 2006, Peggy was preceded in death by three brothers,
Thomas Haught, Albert Snyder and Edward Reeder and one sister, Harriet

Hammondsport, N.Y. — Raymond A. Hawley, 71, of Hammondsport, died
October 24th, 2010 at Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital. He was born
June 21, 1939 in Hornell the son of Harold & Marion Hawley. Raymond
enjoyed playing cards, yahtzee and collecting many different things. Some
of his favorite collectibles were anything to do with Indians and wolves.
Ray's favorite football team was the Minnesota Vikings and his baseball
team was the St. Louis Cardinals. Ray was pre-deceased by his parents Harold

she married Russell C. Ditzel. Audrey and Russell enjoyed 58 years of marriage
and raising their two daughters. Audrey was a member of the Dushore American
Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 996. She was an outstanding Sullivan County
Ladies Dart League player, and enjoyed making all types of crafts, knitting
and crocheting. She loved their country home and being outdoors. Audrey

75, a longtime resident of South Williamsport, died Thursday, Oct.
21, 2010, at the Gatehouse Hospice of Divine Providence Hospital, Williamsport.
Mrs. Bower had been a member of the First Presbyterian Church at Williamsport.
She retired as an assistant manager of the South Williamsport Uni Mart
in 1990 and had previously been employed as a residence coordinator for
the YMCA at Williamsport. Margaretta enjoyed playing Scrabble and
watching Jeopardy on television. She was an avid reader. She was very fond
and dedicated in attending her son's sporting and athletic events. She
loved the experience of the South New Jersey Shore. Margaretta was a graduate

Surviving are her two daughters, Natalie "Penny" and her husband, Allan
Fillman of Williamsport and Pamela Werner and her companion, Linda Kisby
of South New Jersey; her son, Chris A. Barnett of South Williamsport; her
sister, Avis S. Joy of Duboistown; her four grandchildren and her three
great-grandchildren. In addition to her late parents, she was also preceded
in death by her sister, Letitia J. Dellinger. Their will be a Gathering

Age 94, died
on Wednesday, October 20, 2010, at the Chemung
County Nursing Facility. Doris was born on June 5, 1916 in Carter Camp,
PA to John and Wilhemina Karhan. She was predeceased by her husband of
55 years, Clifton L. Inscho; brothers, Victor, Vincent and Vernon Karhan;
sisters, Leonore and Josephine; and son-in-law, Theodore R. Manns. Survivors
include daughter, Patricia A. Manns of Elmira; grandchildren, Mark C. (Karen
Sudbrink) Manns, Kathleen A. Malloy and Kristine M. (Thomas Whispel) Manns;
great-grandchildren, Heather and Conner Malloy of Elmira and Zachary Eickholt-Manns
of Escondido, CA; and step-great-grandchildren, William, Joshua and Johnny

Thank you to the wonderful staff on the third floor of the Chemung County
Nursing Facility many of whom became her extended family, with special
mention of Debbie, Robert, Margo, Philip and Vicki. Also survived by daughter,
Jacqueline (Joel) Caccia with her children Joel (Lynn) and Randall (Amy)
Caccia, daughters Emma and Anna. Doris will be remembered by her friends
and family for her wonderful ability to make us smile. She enjoyed gardening
and brightened her neighborhood with her flower gardens. Also, her tomato
plants were legendary. She shared many seeds with her neighbors and we
are sure those plants will be a reminder of her over the years to come.
She was also an accomplished seamstress and contracted with various drapery
businesses to make drapes for them. At Doris' request, there will be no
calling hours. A memorial service will be held at Olthof Funeral Home,
Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira/ Southport on Saturday, October
23, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. Friends and family are invited to gather to share
memories after the service at 411 Upper Oakwood Avenue, Elmira Heights.

Corning, N.Y. — Barbara A. Dolley, age 77, of Corning, died
on Monday, October 25, 2010 at Corning Hospital. Barbara was born
on March 31, 1933 in Riverside, the daughter of the late Fred and Clarabelle
(Noyes) Ketchum. She married William Dolley on May 17, 1958.
He predeceased her on January 6, 2006. Barbara was employed by the former
O’Mailia Clothing Store. A twenty-five year member of the Women of the
Moose, Barbara was active in the Barons of Steuben Drum and Bugle Corp.
She was an avid crocheter and reader. She is survived by two daughters:
Lisa Kluchonic of Midland, TX, Pam (Greg) Duke of Conestoga, PA; one son:
Gary Dolley of Springfield, MA; sister: Joan Colvin of Beaver Dams, NY;
and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Don

KING Celestia P. Denoskey, 90, formerly of Montgomery, died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010, at the Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit, where she resided the past five years. Born Oct. 29, 1919 in Montgomery, she was a daughter of the late William E. and Hannah (Heively) King. Her husband, Jess Denoskey, preceded her in death in 1966. Following graduation from Montgomery High School in 1938, she received a degree in nursing from Muncy Valley Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse at Muncy Valley Hospital for many years, and was also employed as an industrial nurse at the former Montgomery Mills and as a private duty nurse for Senator Henry Lark's wife. Celestia was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Montgomery. She volunteered with the American Red Cross and was active in Montgomery community affairs, as well as serving as a Montgomery tax assessor. Surviving are a daughter, Diane Baldwin of Sedona, Arizona, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two sisters. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Grenoble's, 121 S. Main St., Muncy. Officiating will be her pastor, Rev. Richard Barner. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Montgomery. 32, of Sayre, Pa.. entered the arms of his lord on Oct.r 21, 2010 at
home. He was born on Nov. 28, 1977 in Sayre, a son of Richard and Catherine
Kithcart. On July 7, 2007 Duane Married Tanya (Post) Kithcart in
Howard Elmer Park, Sayre. Duane loved to hunt and fish, he also loved
playing pool and cards with his many friends. Duane was also a sports fan.
He loved to watch the Yankees and Colts. Duane was proceeded in death by
his grandparents: Herb and Connie Withey; grandmother Mary Savercool and
uncle James Savercool. Duane is survived by his wife Tanya at home; parents

was a Jersey Shore High School graduate and married Ralph A. Thomas Jr.,

June 2, 1986. She was employed many years as a secretary
with the former Alcan Central Cable and was cashier at the Jersey Shore
High School cafeteria. She was a member and the former treasurer of St.
John's Lutheran Church, Jersey Shore. She enjoyed reading and loved spending
time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her survivors include

She is survived by her husband, Dale E. Lundy, with whom she celebrated

61, of 6585 Jacks Hollow Road, Bastress, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010,
at The Williamsport Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Deitrick was a member
of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church at Bastress. Donna had
been employed by Superior Plus Energy Services at Montoursville as a payroll
officer, formerly Montour Home Comfort Services. She had also been formerly
the elected tax collector for Bastress Township for at least three terms.
Donna was a graduate of the former Williamsport School of Commerce. She
and her husband, John C. Deitrick, were united in marriage on Nov. 20,
1971, at the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church at Bastress. Together
they shared 38 years of marriage. Born June 17, 1949, at Saint Marys, she
was the daughter of the late Michael L. and Margaret K. Miller Michael.
Mrs. Deitrick enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting afgans and baby booties
and sweaters and flower gardens. Surviving in addition to her husband,
John C. Deitrick, at home, are her daughter, Leann M. Deitrick of Lock
Haven and her son and daughter-in-law, Kevin J. and his wife, Julie Deitrick
of Bastress. Also surviving are her sister and brother-in-law, Deb and
her husband, Robert Karicher of Littleton, Colo., and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services and the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on

cherish her memory her children, family and friends. In addition to her

PENNAY Clarence C. Pennay,
of Waverly, N.Y., died
Tuesday, October 26th, 2010 at the Robert
Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pa. Clarence was born in Bradford County, Pennsylvania,
on June 26, 1933, one of seven children, four brothers and three sisters,
the son of the Late Doris Warner and Cecil Pennay. Clarence was a lifelong
resident of the Valley. He was a US Army Veteran serving as a corporal
during the Korean War. He was a member of the Skiff- Bower VFW Post, and
a member of the Owego Moose Lodge. He loved playing guitar with different
country bands in and around the valley for several years. Clarence worked
as a laboratory technician for Ingersoll Rand Corporation for many years.
Surviving Clarence is his loving wife, H. Sue (McKinnie) Pennay at home;
his son Chris (Kay) Pennay, of Waverly; his daughter, Donna (Ed) Davis,
of Laceyville, Pa.; step-daughter, Beverly Shiell, of Liston, Idaho. Clarence
is also survived by 25 grand and great-grandchildren, as well as several
nieces nephews, and cousins. At Clarence’s request, there will be
a gathering to celebrate his life Saturday, October 30, 2010 at the family

PFIRMAN Mr. Carl L. "Puff" Pfirman
81, of 49 Valley Heights Drive, Williamsport, died
at his home
on Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010. Born Dec. 6, 1928, at Williamsport, he was the
son of the late Louis and Margaret (Hess) Pfirman. Carl was a graduate
of the class of 1946 at South Williamsport High School. He received a football
scholarship to attend Penn State University and graduated in 1953 with
a BS degree in physical education. He was commissioned into the U.S. Air
Force as a 2nd Lieutenant and served during the Korean War. He was awarded
the National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, and the
Korean Service Medal. He received an offer from the Philadelphia Eagles,
but due to military commitments, he was unable to act upon the offer.
Upon his honorable discharge from the military, he continued his education,
receiving a degree in physical therapy from the University of Pennsylvania.
Carl's career at the former Williamsport Hospital, spanning almost three
decades, included developing the Rehabilitation Services Department and
the Sports Medicine Program. He was on the consulting staff of many county
nursing care facilities. Carl was the recipient of the Lycoming County
Medical Society award for "Contributions in the Field of Rehabilitation
Medicine." Carl went on to work at Lancaster General Hospital and was instrumental
in developing the Willow Lakes Health Center Rehabilitation Outpatient
Services. He was last employed by the former Rose View Manor as its Director
of Physical Therapy, retiring in 1995. Carl was preceded in death by his
first wife, Marion Knapik Pfirman, his granddaughter, Abigail Hill and
also by his son-in-law, Brian Walker. Carl is survived by his wife, Sherry,
with whom he celebrated 41 years of marriage. Also surviving are their
children, Michael (Kathleen) Pfirman, Stephen (Kim) Pfirman, Jeffrey Pfirman,
Petrea Walker, Andrea (James) Hill, Alicea (James) Gable, and Mara (William)
Hause. He is also survived by grandchildren, Nicholas, Katie, Kristopher,
Kinsie, Tierney, and Josie Pfirman, Jacob and Joseph Walker, Sarah Olivia
and Luke Hill and Logan and Thomas Gable. He also leaves behind his sister,
Joan Loughry and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will

60, of Wellsboro, died on Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010. He was born on
May 26, 1950, in Fort Worth Texas, a son of the late Merle G. and Hazel
C. Spencer Preble. He was the husband of Joanne M. Freeman Preble. Fremont
was employed by DCNR, Department of Forestry as a maintenance supervisor.
He was a member of the NRA, a life member of the Middlebury Fire Department,
played in a band for many years, was an avid hunter and enjoyed woodworking.
Fremont is survived by his wife, Joanne; two sons, Robert Hunter, Paul
Hunter; five daughters, Brandi Nowakowski, Amber Preble, Rachel Preble,
Emily Preble, JoElla Copp; three sisters, Diane Hansgen, Marilyn Elgewazy,
Evelyn Avagliano; brother, Lamont Preble and eight grandchildren. He was
predeceased by a son, Jason Preble and a brother,Milan Preble. A

Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010,
at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center. Born August 11, 1936, in Williamsport,
a daughter of Richard and Helen E. (Hafer) Pryor. Harriet was married to
the late Isaac Prince. Harriet enjoyed Bingo, puzzles, her cat Chuckie,
and especially being around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are her mother, Helen Doebler of Williamsport; six children,
Helen Mastracco of Williamsport, Ronald Bower of Williamsport, Donald W.
Bower Sr. of Linden, Bonnie Stewart of Williamsport, Robert Bower of Williamsport,
and John Bower of Williamsport; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond

RAUB Glen Merlin Raub
78 of Dushore, Pa., died
on Tuesday evening Oct. 26, 2010, in
the Highlands Care Center, Laporte, Pa. Merlin was born on July 6, 1932,
a son of the late Charles A. and Bertha E. Bovee Raub in Towanda, Pa. He
was a graduate of Dushore High School class of 1951. Merlin married the
late Kathryn H. Adams on June 5, 1954; they had celebrated 45 years together
until her death on Feb. 21, 2000. He was a member of St. Paul's United
Methodist Church of Dushore, a member of the Dushore Fire Company since
1959, and a member of White Ash Land Association. He was a great hunter
and fisherman and enjoyed being outdoors. He and Katie had a great love
for music and dancing. Merlin worked as a printer for most of his life,
he worked for the Martins at the Sullivan Review in the early 1950s and
then for the Daily Review in Towanda from 1956 until his retirement as
a press room supervisor in 1995 after 30 years. He also worked with McHenry
Commercial Printers for nearly 10 years. Merlin is survived by his four
children, Randy (Linda) Raub of Forksville Pa., Bonnie (John) Monaghan
of Dushore Pa., Angela (Rick) Raub of Dushore Pa., and Glen M. Raub Jr.
of Dushore Pa.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several
nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife,
Katie; and his five brothers, Edwin, Leon, Kenneth, Karl (Puggie), and
Charles Jr. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct.
30, 2010 in the Russell P. McHenry Funeral Home, 119 Carpenter St., Dushore,
PA 18614 with Rev. Robert W. Brown, his pastor, officiating. Family and

62, of Linden, died
Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010, at his residence
surrounded by the love of his family. He was born March 18, 1948, in Williamsport,
the son of William C. and Lillian Bev Burkholder Rearick. Ralph was married
to the former Ann Martillan, with whom he shared 35 wonderful years of
marriage. Ralph loved his beloved wife with all his heart. Ralph was a
Vietnam War veteran, served his grateful nation in the U.S. Army as a military
policeman. He worked for the Lubrikup Co.for 30 years of service.He was
a member of the graduating class of 1966 from Jersey Shore High School.
For his enjoyment Ralph played miniature war games, and his precious Cocoa
and JoJo. Surviving besides his wife, Ann, are his sister-in-laws, Tess
(Nick) Vergara of Jersey Shore, Ellen Elliot and Lou De Los Santos, both
of Boxbuilder, S.D., Melly (Brian) Villaflor and Sussie Manog, both of
the Philippines; brother-in-law, Ben (Conching) Canete of the Philippines;
sisters, Marsha (Tony) Minnella, Ida Clayton, Christine Crompton, and Bonne
(Jamie) Kane; mother-in-law; Naring Martillan; and nieces and nephews,
Ralph had a special place in his heart for Marvie (Matt) Kitchen of San
Antonio, Texas, Jurry Lee Vergara, Joey Vergara, Tony (Mandy) Minnella,
Dawn (Mark) Storm and Michele (Josh) Gavitt. Ralph also is survived by
six additional nephews and seven additional nieces. Relatives and friends

56, of 365 St. Davids Road, died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010, at Manor
Care North. Glenn had lived a full and happy life with over 40 years with
Hope Enterprises, where he worked in the workshop and had many friends.
He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, enjoyed Elvis (who was his
hero), bowling, four wheeling, swimming and fire trucks. He also loved
John and Darla Jones, with whom he resided the past seven years. He was
an honorary member of the Haneyville Vol. Fire Co., where he enjoyed attending
their meetings. Born May 26, 1954, in Williamsport, he was the son of Charles
E. and Iva O. Hendershot Reeder. Surviving are his mother of Williamsport;
brothers, Stephan L. (Crystal) of Williamsport and Dr. John J. (Diane)
of Summerville, S.C.; and a half-brother, Charles H. (Ingrid) Lee of Flagstaff,
Ariz. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the church, 1400 Market
St., with the Rev. Anke Deibler officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill
Cemetery, Mackeyville at the convenience of the family. Visitation will

REITZ Rebecca J. Bower
67, of 109 E. Brimmer Ave., Watsontown, died Thursday, October 21,
2010 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Born October 4, 1943 in Lewisburg,
she was a daughter of the late O. Dawson and Margaret (Bennet) Reitz. On
August 16, 1990, she married John W. Bower. Together they celebrated 20
years of marriage. Rebecca was a 1961 graduate of Milton High School. She
was previously employed by the Milton Standard Journal and by Hopkinsons
Animal Care Hospital, Lewisburg as a receptionist for 20 years. Rebecca
was an honorary member of the Police Blood Hound Association, where she
served as secretary for 20 years.She loved animals, especially horses and
bull dogs, and raised blood hounds earlier in her life. Rebecca enjoyed
going to public sales, antiquing and riding motorcycles with her husband.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two stepdaughters, Leslie Delsite
of Mifflinburg and Jenelle Longacre of Watsontown; three step-grandchildren,
Austin and KayLyne Delsite and Heather Longacre; a niece and her husband,
Wendy and Brian Via of Watsontown and a great-niece, Alicia Via of Watsontown.In
addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Joan Harman.

30, of Sonestown, died unexpectedly on Friday, Oct. 22, 2010. Born
Dec. 12, 1979, in Williamsport, he was a son of Carl D. Rine and Glenda
M. Temple. Aug. 14, 2010, he married the love of his life, Carey L. Entz.
Danny was currently employed with Glenn O. Hawbaker and previously with
HRI. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 601, Sonestown,
the Muncy Creek Water Shed and a 12 year member of the Muncy Valley Area
Vol. Fire Company, where he was currently an EMT and had previously held
the offices of Lieutenant and Assistant Ambulance Captain. Danny also loved
spending time in the outdoors, fishing, camping and kayaking. Surviving,
in addition to his wife and parents, are two brothers, Carl D. "C.J." Rine
and Jarred K. (Melissa) Rine, both of Muncy Valley; and his mother-in-law,
Sherry Entz of Sonestown. Danny was preceded in death by maternal grandparents,
Howard "Tucker" Temple and Evelyn Arnold; paternal grandparents, Albert
M. "JR" and Sara M. Rine; a father-in-law, Steven Entz; and an uncle, Danny
Howard Temple, after whom he was named. Memorial services will be

her home. Born March 25, 1957, in Williamsport, a daughter of Gerald A.

Debra enjoyed reading, spending time with her pets especially her dog,
Sky, and woodworking. Surviving are her mother of Hughesville; three children,
Jerry (Kathy) Thompson of Cogan Station, William Drick and Daniel "Jack"
Summers, both of Williamsport; four grandchildren, Donny, Ashley, Kyle
and Rylan; three great-grandchildren; and sister, Julia Aurand of Turbotville;
and six siblings. She was predeceased by her brother, William Thompson.

WAGNER Violet M. Maldonado
78, of Hebe, PA, entered into her heavenly home on Monday, October
25, 2010, at the Harrisburg Hospital with her family by her side. She was
born January 24, 1932 in Berrysburg, PA, a daughter of the late James E.
and Nina (Kurtz) Wagner. Violet was a 1949 graduate of Emmanuel Bible School,
Salem, Ohio. She retired from Calvin Klein Co. in Millersburg and had worked
at various other positions during her life, including many years spent
serving area churches as a pastor's wife. Violet spent her life taking
care of others and did without in order to provide for her family.
She did this without hesitation because her life revolved around her husband,
their children, and grandchildren. She was a "mom" to many ad a friend
to even more. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. She
is survived by her husband, Urbano; one son, Stephen Daugherty; three daughters
and two sons-in-law, Sheila and Bill Riggs, Sonia and Dwayne Bridendolph,
and Sarita Gullett; three stepsons, Christopher, Antonio and Thomas Maldonado;
three stepdaughters, Yolanda Mendez, Teresa Lebo and Angela Enders; one
sister, Dorothy Miller; nine grandchildren;; thirteen step-grandchildren;
six great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded
in death by two brothers, Gilbert and James Wagner, and one granddaughter,
Stephanie Daugherty. The funeral service was held Saturday, October
30 at David's United Church of Christ, Hebe. Burial will be in the Northumberland
Memorial Park in Stonington. Memorials are welcome or memorial contributions
may be made in Violet's memory to the American Cancer Society. Funeral

She was born March 18, 1924, the daughter of Benton Rue Koch and Emma Jane
Warburton. Lillian retired from Northrop Grumman International as a secretary.
She is survived by three daughters, Nancy (Theodore) Lahey of Stillwater,
Pa., Lisa (Glenn) Royer of Jersey Shore and Robin Colletti of Manville,
N.J.; eight grandchildren, Eddie Colletti, Shelly Colletti, Kimberly (Stanley)

Age 76, of Watkins Glen, NY, died Thursday, October 21, 2010, at home.
Frances was born in Montour Falls, October 25, 1933, the daughter of William
Carlton and Ruth Barton Woodward. She graduated from Watkins Glen High
School and Rochester Business Institute. She married Carl Walter Isley
on November 27, 1954, at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. She was a loving wife and
a proud mother of five who devoted her life to her husband and family.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-five years, Carl; her children,
Sharon (David) Herzig and their children, John and Stephanie (Nicholas)
Johnson; Craig Isley (Rick Axtell); Scott (Lisa) Isley and their children,
Christopher, Michael, Carla, Elyse, and Olivia; Allison (Mark) Majka and
their children, Jordan and Sydney; and Carl (Joelle) Isley and their children,
Callan, Gavin, and Alana; her brother, Alfred C. (Faye) Woodward and their
children, William (Cyndy) and family, and Marcy (Frank) Donkle and family;
her brother-in-law, William (Loretta) Chapman and his children William
(Claudia) Chapman and family, and Richard (Renee) Chapman and family. Frances
was predeceased by her parents and sister, Mary Ruth Woodward Chapman.
Fran was a life long resident of the Watkins Glen community and a faithful
supporter of St. Bonaventure University. She was a communicant of and volunteer
at St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church. In addition to owning Isley
Hardware with her husband and son, Craig, she also was involved with numerous
other local organizations including the founding President of the Watkins
Glen Jaynecees Junior Chamber of Commerce, co-chair with husband Carl of
the Schuyler County Hospital Jazz Festival, and the Squires Jr. Drum and
Bugle Corps. Friends and family are invited to call Sunday, 2-4 pm at the

62, of 147 Marsh Hill Road, Trout Run, was taken from us unexpectedly
on Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010. Charlein enjoyed dancing, singing, playing cards,
going to yard sales and loved animals. She loved to help people and was
full of life. Charlein retired from the Williamsport Area School District
as a school bus driver with 25 years of service. Born Feb. 9, 1948, in
Williamsport, she was the daughter of Charles and Thelma Persun Younkin.
Surviving are sons, Gregory (Natalie) Gehret and Jeremy (Stacy) Sennett;
daughters, Shawn (Mike) Moore and Shannon (Ben) Matthews; grandchildren,
