HOW TO SUBMIT OBITUARIES TO THIS SITE - Typed obituaries may be submitted by email to Joyce M. Tice either in the text of the email of by an attached file. PLEASE put OBITUARY SUBMISSION in the subject line of your email to help me sort the several hundred emails I receive weekly. Give your file an eight character name - do NOT call it OBITS or it will overwrite someone else's file. Make sure your full name is included so I know whom to credit. Submissions will be arranged alphabetically by SURNAME AT BIRTH, so make sure I know the correct birth name if you know it. A DELMAR MAN - TAKES HIS LIFE
During a Fit of Despondency Sherman L. Patrick Takes a Dose of Paris Green.   During a fit of despondency caused by ill health Sherman L Patrick, of
Delmar, committed suicide at his home in Coolidge Hollow, last Friday by taking a dose of paris green.  He was 36 years of age.  Mr. Patrick had been in poor health for several months, over which he had brooded considerable and was very despondent at times.  He had been quite ill several days previous to taking the fatal dose.  At an early hour Friday morning when a brother of Mr. Patrick left the house to go to work he appeared to be resting quietly.  Later when the mother arose to prepare breakfast she visited the room of her sick son but he was not to be found.  She then went out to the barn and found him seriously ill, which afterwards proved to be from the effects of the poison which he had taken about 7 o’clock.  Several hours later he told members of the family what he had done but by then it was too late to save his life.  He died about one o’clock.  The deceased is survived by his mother and two brothers, Benjamin, at home, and George Patrick, of Painted Post, N.Y.
