1865 12 APR D Beach, John S. d in Salisbury Prison Hospital, NC of inflammation of the lungs, John S., eldest son of J.& S. beach, of Elk township, Tioga Co aged 27 years. He enlisted in Co. I. 45th Regt P.V. Oct. 15, 1861, was taken prisoner near Richmond & Petersburg Sept 30, 1864. He was robbed of nearly all that he had necessary for his comfort, hence together with the want of proper after care he died Jan 12, 1865. He leaves aged parents.

1865 10 MAY D Blanchard, John P. d in the charge upon Fort Mahone, before Petersburg, on the 2d of April last, John P. Blanchard, Co. G., 207th P.V. aged 20 years and 9 months. He was the only son of Abner Blanchard, of Knoxville, Tioga Co. He enlisted last Sept. in Co. G. 207th P.V.
1865 8 FEB D Blue, Cyrus d in Clymer, 5th inst., Cyrus Blue, of CO. H., 57th P.V. a re-enlisted veteran, from the effects of sun-stroke before Petersburg, in June last, aged 25 years.

1865 5 APR D Chapman, Carlton T. d in Salisbury, NC, Feb 8th 1865, Carlton T., son of S.R. Chapman, aged 20 years. (Served in the War and died in a souther prison) He leaves his parents and sisters.
1865 12 APR D Christenat, Albert died, Albert Christenat, son of Rudolph Christenat of this village. He enlisted in Co. E. 1st Rifles and served through all the campaigns of the first three years of war. In Mar 1864, he re-enlisted for three years and was taken prisoner on 19 Aug last and sent to Libby. Being removed to Salisbury, NC he received such barbarous treatment there as resulted in his death on 8th Feb 1865. He is the second of the same family who has perished that his country might live.
1865 26 APR D Christenat, Rudolph d Mr. Rudolph Christenat, sone of the oldest citizens of this village, died suddenly at his residence Sunday afternoon. His family have the sympathy of the entire community in their three-fold affliction.

He was wounded before Petersburg June 18, 1864 and after 9 days of suffering, he died. He was buried near where he fell, for a season, then brought back to the home he had left and December 20th laid to rest.

1865 10 MAY D Watts, Daniel d at McDougall General Hospital, Fort Schyler, near New York City, April 22, 1865, Daniel Watts, in the 43d year of his age. He was a private in Co. C. 141st N.Y. Vols, and was with Gen. Sherman in his march from atlanta to Savannah and thence to Branchville, Fayetteville, Goldsboro and Newbern. From the latter place he was, with other sick and wounded, transferred to Fort Schuyler, where he died. His remains were exhumed, brought home to Tioga, and re-interred in Tioga Evergreen Cemetery.

1865 26 APR D Webster, Edward W. Obituary, In the charge upon Fort Mahone, before Petersburg, April 2, 1865, Corporal Edward W. Webster, oldest son of Mr. G.A. Webster of Charleston in this county, was killed. He enlisted in Co. G. 207th P.V. last summer and fell, shot through the head, in the charge of that regiment upon Fort Mahone.
