As a husband, father, and friend, he will sorely be missed. Vice ever received from him a just rebuke, and virtue a suitable commendation - neighbors joined with relatives in tears and regrets over his departure. Of him it may be said, "A good man has died."

Pierson), Mr. Amzi McConnell and Miss Hannah Fitzsimmons. We take this to be a "wholesale" marriage ceremony. We are informed that none of the parties were aware of the day and time each were to be united in the holy bonds of wedlock. But they had a cordial time all round when the "knots" were tied. The brides, no doubt, managed the delicate preliminary arrangements, in which their lords were to be "introduced" to the occasion. Such a trio of matrimonial unities are seldom witnessed. 1860 25-Feb Miller, George W. D Judge George W. Miller, of Southport, died Sunday evening last of disease of the heart. The Judge was in his fiftieth year, wanting little less than four months of being fifty.
1860 16-Jun Miller, Richard D Sudden death - on Friday last, as Mr. Richard Miller, a resident of the Town of Candor, and about eighty years of age, was going from a blacksmith shop near his home, he suddenly fell down and expired, as it is supposed, with heart disease, or apoplexy. Capt. Miller, as he was called, was one of the oldest citizens of the Town of Candor, and was an officer, we believe, in the War of 1812. He was loved and respected by all who knew him. Owego Gazette

Deceased was formerly a resident of Elmira, and was highly respected as a citizen, and esteemed as a friend. His death will be mourned not only by his family, but by many to whom he has endeared himself by kind offices and gentlemanly bearing in social life.

1860 3-Nov Noyes, Thomas D on Friday, Mr. Thomas Noyes, of this town, died in consequence of a paralytic shock. His age was seventy-three years. He had been a resident of the town for over twenty years, and was a gentleman highly esteemed for his intelligence, kindness of heart and moral worth. He was buried on Sunday in Big Flats. 1860 21-Jan Rumsay, William D FATAL ACCIDENT: William Rumsay, a citizen of the 3rd Ward in this place, was killed in Troy, Pa., on Saturday night. He was employed in hauling logs, and at the time of the accident was drawing a heavy load with his team over a slippery place, when his sleigh slid around violently...he died instantly...a young man, 33 years old...wife in feeble health and three small children. It is a painful affair.

1860 29-Dec Seeley, Calista D at the residence of Abner Wells, Esq., of Wellsburgh, on the 23d of December, Miss Calista Seeley, aged forty-six years. Her state of mind in contemplation of death was in beautiful and harmonious accordance with her whole life. Gentle and unobtrusive, it is in the domestic circle her qualities shone pre-eminent. There she was ever ready to promote the welfare and happiness of those around her, entering with her enlarged sympathies, into all their joys and sorrows. In the family for which the past thirty years she has been domisticated, she was warmly beloved and appreciated, and has left a gap not easily filled. As her honorable and successful life drew to a close, she prepared herself with calmness and self-possession for the final conflict, leaving her with many friends the sweet assurance she had passed to a glorious immortality. Wellsburgh, December 24th, 1860.

1860 19-May York, Margaret D in the Town of Potter, Yates Co., N.Y., in York Settlement, April 27th, Margaret, wife of A.D. York, aged 26 years. The deceased was the youngest daughter of Margaret Stuart and William Scott, who removed to this county from Inverness Shire, Scotland, in 1816, and were for many residents of Ontario County. This sudden bereavement has fallen with crushing weigh on the hearts of her family, and cast a feeling of gloom over a large circle of friends and acquaintances.
