Said Clark is said to have come from Chenango, N.Y. about 2 1/2 years ago. He stated to friends that he was formerly from Rhode Island and had been one of the adherents of Dorr... and had been imprisoned for his connection with Dorr's Rebellion. He also stated that he was owner of a house and lot in the city of Providence--- he had purchased a tract of land on which he lived and one which he was at work where he met his death. He lived alone and was discovered by a neighbor. He was decently interred by the neighbors and the personal property found on his premises taken care of and is now in possession of William Taylor of Delmar. Any further information may be had by writing John D. Wilcox, Wellsboro. The deceased had no known relatives in this part of the counrty. |
