1878 31-Jan. D Bodine, Mrs., I. M. Died—The death of Mrs. I.M. Bodine occurred on Sunday morning last. She had a severe attack of Sciatic Rheumatism - - the disease had evidently attacked the heart, Mrs. Bodine was the daughter of the late Hezekiah Stowell, and was born in Shippen Township in 1842. In 1863 she was united in marriage to Isaac M. Bodine. Survivors - - husband and two interesting children; an aged Mother, her brothers, H. Stowell, Jr., Devillo Stowell and Thomas Stowell; and a sister, Mrs. John Bache. The funeral was from St. Paul’s church - - -Rev. Dr. Breck officiating.

His loss falls heavily upon his bereaved parents and brothers and sisters. Funeral took place yesterday at the Catholic Church. Rev. Father Mullen of Blossburg officiating.

1878 4-Apr. D Bryden, Thomas B. Died—Death of Thomas B. Bryden - - on Sunday from the injuries sustained in an accident of the 20th ult. He was born at Halldykes, near Lockerbie, Dumfriesshire, Scotland, Sept. 4, 1830. He left and came to America in the year 1850. Subsequently he obtained a knowledge of Civil Engineering (from) his elder brother, James Bryden, now dec’d, in surveying lands of the Bingham Estate. In 1856, his brother died and he accepted the position of surveyor for the estate. In 1857, he was married to Miss Buelah Straight, who with one child survives him. In 1862 he entered the service as Captain of a Company of Volunteers. His company was on duty in and around Washington until 1863. When Mr. Bryden retired from the service. In 1870, he entered the employ of the Delaware and Hudson Canal Company for 2 years. He then returned to his old position in the Bingham Estate Office, and left there April last to become surveyor of the Pa. Joint Lumber and Land Co. The funeral was attended from Mr. Bryden’s late residence on Centra

1878 28-Mar. D Cady, Sid Died—The Westfield Idea of last week records the death of “Old Sid” Cady, a hunter who has lived in the woods on Kettle Creek for more than 40 years, and whose body was found about 3 miles from his cabin on the 26th ult., the remains were deposited near the old log cabin on what is known as “Wolf Creek,” and a rude flat stone, placed on the mound, with the simple inscription, “Sid, aged 63.” The old man had no family, and no relatives living, so far as is known.
