Coudersport Enterprise says Sam Losey of Pike twp, Potter Co. is now 102 yrs, 7 mos and without a doubt the oldest person living in N.W. Pa. he is in good health, has been blind for several yrs, came to Potter Co. 1812, settled where he now res. On Pine Creek, built 1st sawmill on the banks of the creek.  b. 1773

5 Oct     Larned, Kan. Was settled by persons from Tioga Co.  About 60 people, Mr. J. G. Seely formerly of Knoxville runs the Larned Hotel where we sttayed.  They left Elmira, Sep 15th.  W. B. Smith, Esq. formerly of Knoxville owns land there. Sam and Job Doane of Morris bought about 1000 acres.  Mr. Edwards, Charleston bought 400 acres from Topka, Kan. E. A. Backer
