 |
Do You Know that you can search just the
600
pages of Tioga County Cemetery Records on the site by using the Cemeteries
-Tioga button in the Partitioned search engine at the bottom of the
Current
What's New Page? If you use that partition follow these steps to
search just one cemetery.
1. Choose Cemeteries - Tioga.
2. Enter part of the cemetery name [ie Newbury or Furman] AND a surname.
3. Choose the Find ALL Words option. Then it will find just the pages
with that surname in the one cemetery you indicated. |

RIPLEY FAMILY CEMETERY
RICHMOND TOWNSHIP, TIOGA
COUNTY, PA.
Located in Richmond Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania, east of Route
549 and about one mile from Powers Corners (junction of Route 6 and Route
549). The cemetery is several hundred yards from Route 549 and can be seen
from the road on a wooded glacial knoll enclosed by a stone and iron fence
surrounded by pasture. The fenced area encloses a much larger area than
the nine members of the Ripley family who are interred there. All have
individual markers, except for P. S. Ripley and his wife Lorena Webster.
Markers copied Sept 1983 by J. Kelsey Jones.
Deeded as Broderick Cemetery which makes NO SENSE at all since there
are none of that name in here.

Obituaries
Mr. Philip S. Ripley [SRGP 07718]
Last Sunday morning Mr. Philip S. Ripley, who was for years one of
the most prominent and respected citizens of Richmond township, died at
his home in Mansfield, at the age of 83 years. On Saturday week Mr.
Ripley was out at work upon his lot, when he took a heavy cold. He
was taken sick that night, and pneumonia developed and he suffered greatly
during the week of his sickness; but he fully realized that the time had
come for his departure from earth, and he expressed a longing for the supreme
moment when his soul should take its flight. Mr. Ripley was born
near Albany, NY, March 24, 1812. He was brought to Mainesburg with
his father’s family when he was four years of age, and there he was reared.
When he became of age he bought the farm upon which he lived up to the
time he moved to Mansfield, not long since. (Tuesday, April 17, 1895,
