visited this cemetery September 29, 2002. This cemetery is also known locally as the "Farmington Union Cemetery." There was an old iron sign with this name but is is long gone. It is located about 300 ft. south of SR4025 & 4021 (Old State Road, Tannery Hill Rd.) in the northwest corner of Farmington Township. This cemetery is in excellent condition thanks to the work of students from Cowanesque Valley High School who undertook the work as a senior service project. Brush has been cleared, the grass is mowed and wooden fence posts with a rope have been placed along the roadside. It is still an active cemetery and to the back (east) are burials from recent years.
While we were there a gentleman stopped (whose name I did not record, sorry). He told us about the clean-up project and said there are several additional gravestones in a pile in the woods.
I was easily able to locate the stones of Walter VanDusen, Betsey Thorne VanDusen (GGGG grandparents); Parnell Redfield Fish Marks (GGGG Grandmother); Edgar David Fish, Polly Newton VanDusen Fish (GGG grandparents).
