also known as Beckwith Cemetery

Located in the Seeley Creek Valley in the Town of Southport, Chemung County, New York at Pine City on the west side of Pennsylvania Avenue and north of Beckwith Road on land originally settled by the Marvin family. Often referred to as the Beckwith Cemetery, the cemetery is adjacent and north of the stately home where Robert Beckwith and his wife Julia Ann Marvin resided for many years situated on the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and Beckwith Road. The cemetery is in a relatively good state of preservation. Markers copied 1979 by J. Kelsey Jones.

DEATH OF SETH MARVIN
An Old Resident of this County Who Died This Morning.
Seth Marvin, one of the oldest residents of the town of Southport, died shortly after midnight last night of pneumonia.  He was nearly eighty-one years of age and had lived in the town of Southport nearly all hs life, having been born, lived and died on one farm.  he will also be buried of the farm. Mr. Marvin was a son of Archibald Marvin, who came to this county about ninety years ago and bought all the land on the flats between Pine City and State Line.  The wife of the deceased died about two years ago. Of his immediate family he is survived by a sister, Miss Julia Beckwith, of Pine City, and one son, Lyman, of this city and one daughter, Mrs. Sherman Tanner of Webb Mills.  He was also the father of Edward Marvin, who was overseer of the poor in Elmira and died about two and a half years ago.  The funeral will be held at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the home of D.A. Gaylord, near Pine City.  The deceased was one of the best known men in the county and was held in great respect by all who knew him.
