OLD MILLTOWN or REST CEMETERY Located at the corner of Hoover and Bradford Streets in Sayre,
Pa. The following is made up of two lists, first; by C. W. Northrup in March 1935 for D.A.R. Secondly by Cindy Rajala, former Athens, Pa. museum director in 1991. Since there are so many stones missing now, I used a combination of both lists and some research to make this list. Also in the old Athens Gleaner newspapers, when the Tioga Point Cemetery was opened in 1870, some people were moved by family members there. Some records for Tioga Point burned in the 1920's so it is unsure who has moved and when. If you find someone you are interested in, you will need to recheck with the Tioga Point Cemetery or Sayre Boro Hall. Sent in by Eloise Frantz Wilson

Note from Barbara who typed this - There are three things on this that have to be wrong. I already mentioned to you in a previous e-mail about the Harris one. Here are the others. VanOver, Fanny dates have to be wrong. She died 2 months before she was born and is a wife. Also on John Woodworth's children. They all died in 1866, 2 were 2 days old and one 4 days old.
On the VanOver one I did not put any dates in.
Dear Joyce,
On the Rest Cemetery listing, you have "Leora D.
Bensley" died March 30, 1891 - the daughter of Fred & Ella (Eleanor)
Bensley.
The Nichols Cemetery, Nichols, Tioga Co, NY also has this same daughter "Leora D. Bensley" 1889-1891 - daughter of Fred Bensley, wife Ella.
I know that the birth and death dates and the parents
are correct - but which cemetery is she buried in?
Most of the rest of Fred Bensley's family are buried
at the Nichols cemetery.
However, his parents: John Bensley/Lucy Wrigley are buried at Rest cemetery. Lucy is the daughter of James Wrigley/Elenora ? who are also buried there.
Also you have a "Bertie Wrigley" listed - do you have any other information?
Thank you,
