THE ISAAC TRUMBULL BIBLE
The Bible of Isaac Trumble (1808-1849) of Tioga County, Pennsylvania, was obtained in 1994 from Marty Wade of Monroe, Michigan. Her father, a lover of old books employed by a paper company in the Detroit area, rescued the ancient volume from a consignment about to be pulped and recycled into corrugated carton. There is no known connection between Isaac and any Michigan Trumble families nor is it known how the Bible might have gotten to Michigan. The Bible contains valuable genealogical information about a little-known branch of the family. The inscriptions on the flyleaf might be interpreted to mean that Isaac Trumble's Bible was passed to his daughter Sarah and then in turn to Sarah's niece, Anna Young, who may have lived in Midland, Michigan.
The book measures 8 cm x 17.5 cm, with a well-worn leather binding. A few magazine clippings, one hand dated 1875, and a small piece of needlepoint are inserted in the book. [FLYLEAF] [in ink] Isaac Trumble's Book May the 5th 1830- [in ink, very faint, different hand]

Dear Joyce,

I was surfing the Web this morning and was delighted to see my transcription of the Isaac Trumble Bible presented so clearly and correctly on your site, <http://www.rootsweb.com/~patioga/bibles/trumbull.htm>. The Bible was a great find for me, and I am pleased to see its contents made available in the area of the country where it might assist some other researchers.

If you wish, you could update my whreabouts and contact information, which are now 2634 Prairie Ave, Evanston, IL 60201, and <trumbullc@comcast.net>.

All best!

Charlie Trumbull
