Benjamin Doty was born 1804 and died Dec. 2, 1857 in Jackson Township, PA.  His father was Nathaniel Doty.  Benjamin married Jerusha Wright.  She was born  Sept. 10, 1803  in Steuben County, NY., and died Nov. 25, 1894 in Mansfield, PA.

Their children:
James A. Doty born July 19, 1831, Tompkins Co., NY.  He died Feb. 15, 1912 in Jackson Township, PA.  James married Amelia Sheive, daughter of Albert Sheive and Betsey Crandall
George Doty, b. 1835
Cordelia Doty b. 1838, d. May 18, 1926 in Elmira, NY.  Cordelia married Reuben Smith b. Aug. 17, 1842.
Emma(Amanda) Doty b. July 28, 1841, d. Sept. 25, 1914 in Mansfield, PA.  Emma married Solomon Lemuel Wood b. 5/16/1838 in Sullivan County, PA. [Note from Joyce - Should be Sullivan Township, Tioga County PA]
Betsey Doty b. 1844
Daniel Doty b. 1846, d. Dec. 15, 1867.  Daniel married Esther Holly.

Vickers-Postle-Spencer

This record was compiled by Miss Bessie E. Spencer in a letter to Scott P. Gitchell dated 31 August 1986. In it she states that her grandfather Vickers sailed from Liverpool to New York in February 1853 with his wife and five children. When they came to Jackson Twp., Tioga Co., PA they lived in a log house until a larger frame house was built about 1896.
