I don't know if this qualifies as a Bible Record; - I received
info. from John Reed's pension file no. WO387191-120-55 War of 1812 (from
the National Archives):
Alida Reed being first duly sowrn deposes and says that she is the custodian
of a certain Bible having the publishers imprint of 1837, that said Bible
contains a
record of the marriage of John Reed and Alida Reed (affiant) in these
words and figures to wit: "John Reed & Alida Reed married December
14, 1857."
Another affidavit in the pension file mentions Alida's maiden name was
Shuert and they were married by Sam'l. Petingale who was a Justice of Peace.
And she
further states that John Reed was first married 15th Feb. 1819 to Margaret
Owens, who died 9 Aug. 1833.
