He was born in Wells, August 5, 1847, was a Civil War veteran, having answered what proved to be the last call for Pennsylvania volunteers. Although his hearing and eyesight were impaired during his enlistment, he never received a pension, as he lacked a few days of the time required by the government to secure one.

Her body was interred JUL 1986 in Gray Valley Cemetery, Sullivan Township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania.   The 1986 death date may be an error. She may still be alive. Apparently from the Dewey Hollow line as he owned a house there that had been in the family. John Tice says he and Glenn L. lived about two miles apart on State Road. Supposedly Glenn C. is buried at Gray Valley.  Willard Dewey has son Glenn born 1890 in 1900 census. Looks like Glenn L.   Wife is Dora. Oscar Dewey's son Glenn looks more like C than L in 1900 census, but Francis Morgan says Oscar is father of Glenn L.. SSI shows that the one who died in 1966 was b in 1890. Probably Willard is father of Glenn C, but has wife Dora and John says Glenn's mother was Belle Palmer. Straighten this out. [Another Glenn Dewey was born 07 APR 1894 died Apr 1967 in Elmira (SS 127-05-9556)] Burial Marker is clearly Glenn Cecil.

The Florence Tice that married Rev. Glen Dewey sometime in the early 1930's was from the Cortland New York area . She was a minister in the Methodist church while Glen was a Baptist minister.    I'm not sure how they met.  Her father's name was Arthur Tice but I never met him and assume he was deceased by the time her mother  used to come  for an extended visit in the summer.  My middle name is also Arthur which I always used when I was young, and when her mother visited the mailman would leave her mail at our house . Florence had a brother named Richard who also came.  We were the same age and spent quite a lot of time together.

Their son Eugene Dewey is a retired military officer who now works for the State dept. in Washington.  Colie Tice tells me he usually comes up to the farm where he maintains the house around hunting season .  Suggest you ask Colie to let you know when he is there.   You might also get other information from Colie. The Dewey's adopted a couple of girls and raised a couple of boys as foster children. All of them tended to be in trouble at one time or another.  One of the girls married Colie's son but that didn't last very long.   I don't know the details.  Colie is getting old and hard of hearing .  You might be able to get more information from Phyllis Ames ( Colie's Daughter ).   She lives in Gillette.
