Scope & Content:
The menu of the New Mansfield Diner with handwritten date of 08 January 1938. G. W. and W. E. Edgerton, Props. The New Mansfield Diner was indeed very new when this menu was printed and kept as a travel souvenir.

Two or three small wooden buildings had stood in the location where the diner was moved in. One of them was relocated by Harry Taylor in 1935 around the corner to a spot next to the Taylor Hardware on West Wellsboro Street It was then used as Swain's Music Store and later operated as the New X-Trail Restaurant. It still stands in that location as the Black Swan Cafe and as of 2019, is in a state of disrepair..

This diner was the second on S. Main. Earlier a smaller dining car was located next to the Johnson Garage and for many years was used as an office. This was its larger replacement hence the name "New" in the title.

In 1971, this diner was relocated to Blossburg according to the Mansfield Advertiser. At the same time other buildings on that block were razed for a newer bank building which has itself since been replaced by a still newer bank building.
