Dear Joyce,
I saw you mentioned the Pond Hill School in Wysox Twp., Bradford Co.
but had no picture. This photo was sent to us in 1978 by one of the students
who fondly remembered the teacher, George A. Gard. She included a list
of the students: Howard Barnes, Burt Stephenson, Louis Barnes, Grace Vargason,
John White, Stephen Dutcher, Albert Lent, Tracy Dutcher, Fred Stephenson,
Helen Webb, Mary Spencer, Charles Coveney, Frank Barnes, Francis Coveney,
Walter Spencer, Andrew Coveney, Elizabeth Dutcher, Ida Park, Blanche McCarthy.
George Gard taught at Pond Hill several years following his graduation
from Towanda High School in 1911. He later was a teacher in Alba before
settling on his farm on Laning Creek Road, Wysox Twp. Hope this picture
will add to your collection of Bradford Co. momentos.
