moved and second at that we pay from 28 $235 per month for teachers according to certificate no certificate to be considered averaging more 1 ¾ carried

Board matter for regular me were eting members present Beck Kehler Maneval Smith & Crist. Crist was elected secretary Pro-Tem
it was mutually agreed that Thomas Smith should see to banking up the schoolhouse at reeds the following teachers were elected to teach T. H. Maitland to teach the Centennial C. T. Ritter to teach the Raker Ella Secrist to teach the Kehler schools.

Jackson February 11th 1893 Board met for regular meeting all members present the first Business transacted was the letting of wood for the Severall School Houses Mountain School 10 cords hardwood & 1 Hemlock to be furnished by Warren Weaver for 1.75 per cord
Centennial 10 cords hard & 1 Hemlock to be furnished by Warren Weaver at 1.40 per cord
Reed school 6 cords hard 1 Hemlock to be furnished by Wm Crist at 1.60 per cord
Raker School 10 cords hard & 1 kindling to be furnished by James Kohler at 1.60 per cord
Kehler school 9 cords hard 1 kindling to be furnished by Orvil Landon at 1.18 per cord
Independent School 10 cords hard 1 kindling to be furnished by Geo Maneval at 1.50 per cord
Sugar Hill 10 cords of hard & 1 of kindling to be furnished by Wm Crist at one seventy 1.75 per cord
Wood to be all hard trunk wood twenty four inches long to be properly piled with timber underneath and to be delivered no later than May 1st 1893

J. W. Bastian handed in his resignation to take effect on Sat eve March 25th 1893 upon motion it was decided to take Sealed Bids for the Building of the Reed School House
it was unanimously agreed for the Board to reserve the right to request any or all bids upon motion it was decided to built the school House acording to the specifications written out here to day he
upon motion it decided to adjourned to meet on Sat 25th at the house of Ellis Beck's at 9:00 p.m.

Resolved that we pay the Secretary at the rate of 30.00 Dollars per year it was moved and seconded that Jacob Kehler shall be appointed secretary for the unexpired term Carried Unanimous R. H. Loudenslager was appointed to fill the unexpired term of J. W. Bastian
it was decided to Draw an order in favor of JW Bastian for services as secretary upon motion in order was drawn in favor of Ellis Beck for meals for school Board

Moved by Crist & seconded by Maneval that we had a six months continuous term in all a school except for the Centennial, where the term shall be. 7 mnths (5 in winter & 2 in summer)
salary for summer term not to exceed $20 per month. Carried unanimously.
On motion by Kehler & seconded by Maneval the Board adopted the Res. Re: C. T. Ritter's application for a State Normal Diploma.
Moved by Kehler & Sec. by Maneval that we allow Jas Artley $3 for Building a suitable fence around the Reed School House.

Moved by Crist and seconded by Maneval that we pay from thirty to thirty-six dollars per month according to certificate. Carried.
Maggie Artley was then nominated by Crist & seconded I Kehler to teach the Centennial School. Unanimously elected.
Nate Secrist was nominated by Kehler and seconded I Smith to teach the Sugar Hill Sch. Unanimously Elected.
T. H. Maitland was nominated by Loudenslager & seconded by Crist to teach the Raker school. Unanimously elected.
Arthur Smith was nominated by Smith & seconded by Kehler to teach the Reed School Unanimously Elected
Sadie Krise was nominated By Maneval and seconded by Crist to teach the independent school. Unanimously elected.

Wilford Longsdorf and Raleigh Day having disobeyed the teacher the Board met to decide whether they should be expelled from school are not.
Moved by E. Beck and seconded by Loudenslager that they be expelled from school until the 19th Jan. Carried.
Moved by Crist and seconded by E. Beck that the teacher have the right to expel them from school without calling a meeting of the Board if they do not obey the rules hereafter. Carried.

Board met at School House No. 3 at 6 o'clock. P.M. Members present Beck, Loudenslager, Kehler, Crist, and Maneval. Moved by Loudenslager and seconded by Maneval that we repair the Mt. school-House. Carried. Moved by Loudenslager and seconded by Crist that we let the repairing of said school-House to the lowest bidder on all Aug. 25th 1894. Carried. Moved by Kehler and seconded by Maneval that we take the new school-house off all of Nathan Brion's hands and draw in order in favor of Nathan Brion for $575.00/100 four Building of said school house Carried.
Moved by Crist and seconded by Loudenslager that we buy a slate black board for the Raker school-house of the following dimensions. Length. 21 ft 8 in. With 3 ft.. Carried. Moved by Crist and seconded by Loudenslager that Nate Brion put the seats, stove, and black board in the Raker school-house for Three Dollars ($3.00/100) carried.

Moved by Crist that we put in one new window & repair the others. Carried.
Nathan Brion being the lowest bidder secured a contract to repair the Mountain School House for One Hundred Sixty-five Dollars.
Moved by H. Maneval that the Board borrow $600 and payoff B. F. Werline and Nathan Brion. Seconded by Crist. Carried.
Moved by Henry Maneval that we adjourned to meet at the old school House Raker District. Sat. Sept. 15. 1894. At two o'clock. Swc. By Crist carried.

Board met at 2:00 p.m. at the old Raker school House. All nonmembers present. First business transacted was the sale of the old school House. Sold to Adam Myers for Five Dollars and twenty-five cents ($5.25/100) on condition that he remove the wall on which the building stands.
Two privys sold to H. Maneval for fifty cents ($.50 ) Moved by H. Maneval and seconded by R. H. Loudenslager that we have a recitation bench made for the Raker school. Carried.
Moved by Maneval and seconded by Kehler that we higher No teachers to certificates average more than one and one half (1 1/2) Carried.
Moved by Crist and seconded by Kehler that we pay from Thirty ($30 00/100) to Thirty-six ($36 00/100) Dollars per month to all teachers excepting CL Keagle who shall receive fourty ($40. 00/00) Dollars per month. Carried.

Moved by Crist and seconded by Loudenslager that we allow Nathan Brion one dollar ($1.00) for extra work at the Mt. school house and in order be drawn for same. Carried.
Moved by Maneval and seconded By Loudenslager that we draw in order in favor of Nathan Brion for three dollars ($3.) For putting in blackboard and other work at Raker School-house. Carried.
Moved by Loudenslager and seconded by Crist that we draw in order in favor all of Nathan Brion for One Hundred Sixty Five Dollars ($165.00/100) for repairing Mt. School-house. Carried.

Moved by Maneval and seconded by Kehler that the School Board purchase curtains for the school-houses where needed. Carried. Harry D. Miller was nominated by Smith and seconded by Loudenslager to teach the Reed school. Ayes: Beck, Loudenslager and Smith. Nays: Crist, Kehler and Maneval.
N. B. Secrist was nominated by Loudenslager and seconded by Kehler to teach the Reed school. Elected unanimously.

School Board that we those School Board of Jackson Twp. could not admit Linn Doud in our schools. Carried. Moved by Brion Sec by Maneval that Decker shall the matter pertaining to John Ludy and if he finds that he is going to McIntire Twp School he shal report to the secy and that secy shall notify the McIntire school Board that we put not pay any tuition bill for him.
