RUSSELL – Edward Ledyard Russell
Blossburg, April 15 – The sad news reached here on Tuesday evening of the death of Mr. Edward Ledyard Russell, that afternoon, at his winter home at Palm Beach, Florida, from grip. For 27 years past he conducted a photograph gallery here, going south during the winter, where he had also a studio. He was a man of much culture and many sterling business qualities, beloved by many friends. His remains arrived here on Friday evening, accompanied by his wife [nee Eugenia Miller], his little son, Edward, and Miss Mary Saks, who for the past two years has been an attendant in his southern studio. Funeral services were held from the home of Mrs. Russell’s father, Mr. John Miller, on Sunday afternoon, Rev. Melvin Owen, of the Methodist Church, officiating. Burial in the Odd Fellows’ cemetery. Mr. Russell was 47 years old and leaves, beside his wife and son, his mother, Mrs. F.L. Russell, of this borough. – Wellsboro Agitator, April 16, 1902
