These people were the local populace at a particular time. The people buried here knew each other, were neighbors, relatives and school mates. They attended church together and engaged in "trade" or business. All people are listed in alphabetic order by surname at BIRTH. Women identified by a married alias only and for whom a birth surname can not be identified, are listed on the last page for the cemetery's obituaries. SEARS SARAH MARIE HAMMOND BUMP
Age 96 went peacefully to be with the Lord on Sunday May 6, 2007 surrounded by
her loving family. Mrs. Bump was born March 31, 1911 in Wellsboro, PA the
daughter of the late LeRoy and Cora Ethel Herbert Sears. She was also pre-deceased
by her brothers and sister Jesse L. Sears, Evelyn Suhr, and Herbert Sears.
Sarah was a member of The First United Methodist Church of Horseheads. She was
a loving mother and grandmother who devoted her life to her children and
grandchildren and she will be dearly missed by all. Mrs. Bump is survived by
her daughter and son-in-law: Shirley & Winfield Yahn of Trenton, NJ; son:
James Hammond of Lawrenceville, PA; twin daughters and sons-in-law: Judy and
James Frey of Horseheads, NY and Jane & James Russell of Nichols, NY;
grandchildren: Dennis, Doug, Laurie, Richard, Jeanna, Colena, Jaymie, Lanette,
Mike, Dick, Tammy, Chris, and Scott; 18 great grandchildren and 3 great great
grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of caring friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Lynch Funeral Home 318 West
Broad Street Horseheads, NY on Tuesday May 8, 2007 from 7-9 PM. Mrs. Bump's
Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday May 9, 2007 at
11 AM with the Rev. Dr. Robert O. Sherburne officiating. Interment in Maple

SEBURA Robert William
Mr. Sebura, 84, of Aiken, SC died December 27, 2011 at Pepper Hill Nursing Center, Aiken. A son of the late William S. Sebura and Stella M. Vetukevic Sebura, he was born in Elmira, NY and served in the US Navy as an armed guard on merchant ships during WW II. After leaving the service, he worked for US Steel Bridgeworks in Elmira Heights and was fortunate to be able to retire at the age of fifty five and moved south. He then spent twenty three years in the Clearwater/Largo, FL area before moving to Aiken in 2005. Robert was a former communicant of St. Casimir's Catholic Church, a member the American Legion, Post # 154, Elmira Heights, NY. He had been the business manager of the Mark Twain Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps, Elmira Heights. During his years in Florida, he was active as a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Veda (Hall) Sebura, Aiken, SC; three sons, William (Pamela) Sebura, Albany, IN, Mark (Debra) Sebura, Horseheads, NY and Michael Sebura, Hudson, FL; a daughter, Robin (Robert) Severson, Aiken, SC and a sister, Theresa Brown, Horseheads, NY. He was also survived by nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Robert was a devoted husband and loving father. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Robert William Sebura will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at St. Casimir's Catholic Church, Elmira, NY. SEBURA
–THERESA A. BROWN, age 87 of Horseheads, NY passed away on Tuesday June 14,
2016. Theresa was born March 19, 1929 in Elmira, NY the daughter of the late
William and Stella Vetukevic Sebura. She married her husband, Clayton E.
"Brownie" Brown, on November 26, 1953 and he pre-deceased her on December 2,
2005. Theresa was also predeceased by her brother Robert W. Sebura on
December 27, 2011. She was a communicant of St. Mary Our Mother Church in
Horseheads, NY. Theresa loved spending time at the lake and at family
parties throughout the years. In later years, she enjoyed Bingo and going to
Turning Stone and Tioga Downs Casinos to check out the slot machines with
her daughters. She loved her family and friends and cherished the time she
spent with them. Her daughters loved the fact that Theresa was a stay at
home Mom and was always there for them as they grew up. Her greatest joy was
having her children as her best friends. Theresa is survived by her loving
and devoted daughters and sons-in-law: Janet & Brooks Liddiard of
Campobello, SC and Nancy & Dave Stocker of Horseheads, NY; grandchildren:
Joseph (Kay) Ingham, Daniel Ingham, Brittany Stocker, Morgan Stocker,
Michael (Kim) Liddiard, Shari (Mike) Gleason, and Kim (Tom) Myers, great
grandchildren: Nora, Willow and Phoenix Ingham, Jesse Van Wie, Danielle
(Alex) Nowasiadlo, Kati VanWie and Shawn Lewis, Ryan and Jordan Myers, and
Ashley (Chris) Miller; several great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law and
brother-in-law: Veda (Mrs. Robert) Sebura of Aiken, SC, Nadine Crippen of
Alpine, NY, and Sharon & Dave Livingstone of Canada; several nieces,
nephews, cousins, and a host of caring friends. Relatives and friends are

SEELEY –MARGARET S. ‘PEG’ HLYWA age 85, of Elmira Heights, NY, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Elderwoods Nursing Facility. She was born on August 13, 1929 in Sayre, PA to the late Carl and Alice (Layton) Seeley. She married Michael Hlywa on October 4, 1975 and he predeceased her in 1996. She is also predeceased by her brother and sisters-in-law, Edward and Jeanne Seeley and Robert and Leatha Seeley. Peg is survived by her nephews, Jim (Barb) Hlywa of Lansing, NY, Edward (Kelly) Seeley of Waverly, NY and William (Becky) Seeley of Coopersville, MI; nieces, Regina (Charles) Carson of Horseheads, Mitzi Margeson of Sarasota, FL, Patricia (Michael) Rossi of Catasauqua, PA and Barbara Waite of Gillett, PA; along with several great nieces and nephews. She was a former employee of American LaFrance and a Registered Nurse having graduated from the Robert Packer School of Nursing. She was a longtime member of Elmwood Baptist Church. SEELEY Robert B. - Devoted Arnot Ogden Volunteer - Age 90, of Elmira, NY, died unexpectedly at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center, Friday, August 24th, 2007. Robert is the son of the late Luke D. and Rachel Lodwick Seeley, born on October 25th, 1916 in Galeton, PA. He is predeceased by his wife, Virginia Neff Seeley, whom he dearly missed. Robert worked a great portion of his life on the Erie/ Lackawanna and Conrail Railroad as a conductor. For the last eight years he has volunteered at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center, which he enjoyed very much. He was a proud United States Army Veteran of WWII, serving in the Military Railway Service 722nd ROB. He was an active member of VFW Post #901 of Elmira and the American Legion Clarence Oliver Post #154 in Elmira Heights, NY. Surviving Robert is his daughter and son-in-law, Vicki (George) Milunich of Binghamton, NY; son-in-law, Timothy Horan of Horseheads, NY; grandchildren, Geoffrey and Gregory Milunich, both of Binghamton, Michael Horan of Elmira, Robert W. (Jeanette) Seeley of Sun Berry, PA, Rollin (Amanda) Seeley of Ohio, Todd (Janet) Gates of PA, Amy Vanderhei of Wisconsin; five great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mavis (Mike) Micknich of Elmira; many nieces and nephews. Robert is also predeceased by his children, Sharon Seeley, Robert J. Seeley and Marcia Horan. Richard "Dick" Star-Gazette RetireeAge 85, formerly of 86 Morningside
Drive, Elmira, died peacefully on June 29, 2000 at Madonna Heritage Home in
Jarrettsville, Maryland. He was born on April 20, 1915 a home in Elmira, New
York. His parents were the late Thomas and Leontine Seem of West Third Street.
He graduated from Elmira Free Academy in 1933 and received a B.S. in Economics
from the Wharton School of Finance at University of Pennsylvania in 1937 where
he was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. Upon graduation, he began
his 40-year career with the Star Gazette in Elmira, serving as retail
advertising manager, business manager and controller and chief accountant.
During World War II, Dick was the executive officer of an LST in the Atlantic
and the Mediterranean and participated in the invasion of Southern France. He
subsequently received the rank of Lieutenant Commander and commanded an LST
ammunition ship in the Atlantic and Pacific. His ship carried occupation troops
to Japan. In 1947, he was appointed by the U.S. Department of the Navy as
Commander of the Local Naval Reserve Unit to be established in Elmira. He
retired as Lieutenant Commander in the Naval Reserve in 1954. Dick was always a
helper of mankind. He gave much to the community throughout his years as
President of the Community Chest, President of Rotary Club, President of Arctic
League, a member of the Board of Directors of the YMCA, Board Treasurer and
Advisory Council member of the Lend-A-Hand organization. Dick was named a Paul
Harris Fellow for the Rotary Club and was a lifelong honorary member of the
Rotary Club of Pontllanfraith, Wales. He was a recipient of theYMCA Layman's
Award and the Elmira Kiwanis Club Layman's Award for his church and community
activities. Dick was an Eagle Scout and a former counselor at Camp Seneca. He
later became a member of the executive council of the Sullivan Trail Council,
Boys Scouts of America. His scouting experience was one of the most rewarding
experiences of his life and he took great pride in presenting his grandson,
Chris, with the Eagle Scout Award in 1994. The greatest part of his life was
his service to God. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Elmira
for over 50 years. He was a Sunday School Teacher, a member of numerous church
committees and Clerk of the Session. During his life, Dick never lost faith in
the goodness of people. He touched many lives because of his kindness and positive
attitude. He was always a gentleman and a gentle-man. Dick was predeceased by
his beloved wife Peg in 1999. He also was predeceased by his brother, Donald
and a granddaughter, Kristin Michelle. His surviving family included his
daughters and their husbands, Marty (Mrs. Ray Banghart) of White Hall, MD and
Sandy (Mrs. Ken Connolly) of Easton, CT, as well as the grandchildren,
Christopher, Kevin, and Kelly Connolly and Tracy and Andrew Banghart, will
greatly miss their grandpa's humor, crafty cards, wise sayings, and gentleness
of nature. Dick was also survived by his brother-in-law, Robert (Arlene) Osmun
and sister-in-law, Virginia Osmun and several nieces and nephews. A memorial
service is planned at First Presbyterian Church, W. Clinton Avenue, Elmira, New
York, in August at a time to be announced. A private burial with Military
Honors will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined.

SEYMOUR William C. Sr. Age 84, of Elmira, NY, died on Friday, January 12, 2007. William was predeceased by his wife Theresa Seymour and son, Carl Seymour. Survivors include his sons, William (Rose) Seymour Jr. and Earl (Donna) Seymour, both of Elmira; daughters, Connie Hamilton of Elmira, Beverly (Calvin) Springstead of NC, Lois Foster of Elmira, Linda Howe of Elmira, and JoAnn (Matthew) Talvi of PA; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews. Age 78, of 829 South Ave. Horseheads, NY., Sunday, October 13, 1991 at the
Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA. after an extended illness. She is survived
by her husband of 50 years, Paul J. Ostrander Sr.; son & daughter-in-law
Paul J. Jr. & Patricia Ostrander of Erin; daughters & sons-in-law,
Sylvia & John Baxter, Elsie & Don Hutcheson of Savannah, Ga.; 19
grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Genevieve (Mrs. Pierson) Mosher
of Cayuta. Mrs. Geraldine Austin of Long Beach, CA; Mrs. Harries Risley of
Sidney, NY., Mrs. Susan Eileen Bell of Bellflower, CA; brother Clarence Shappee
of VanEtten; numerous nieces & nephews. She was predeceased on March 3,
1970 by a daughter, Josephine Ryan & also by brothers, Lloyd, Charles,
& Clifford Shappee. Josephine was born in Horseheads, March 12, 1913, a
daughter of Clifford & Florence Lounsbury Shappee. She was a licensed
practical nurse, retired from Arnot Odgen Hospital & was a member of the
“Retreads“ Mrs. Ostrander was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of
Horseheads. She had also served as a volunteer at BOCES, Red Cross Blood Bank
& RSVP. Friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, 413 S. Main
St., Horseheads, NY, Wednesday , from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm. Her Funeral
Service will be held there on Thursday at 11 am. The Rev. Jeffrey S. Bell will

SHANNON SHARE, age 4, daughter of Arthur and Donna
(Morgan) Share of 1135 Ponderosa Drive, Horseheads, NY, very unexpectedly died
on Saturday, May 17, 1975. Friends are invited to call at the Barber
Funeral Home, Horseheads, Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral
services will be held there on Tuesday at 11 a.m., the Rev. Robert A.
Delorme. Interment in Maple Grove Cemetery, Horseheads. In addition
to parents, she is survived by maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Donald F.
Morgan of Horseheads; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Dawn Share of RD 1 Erin;

SHAVE Lauren Gillian Myers
Lauren, wife of Garrett Myers, the only child of Colonel
Anthony G.T. and Patricia Shave, died at home surrounded by her loving family,
having courageously survived eleven years with breast cancer. Lauren was a
British citizen and lived in England, Germany, Malaysia and France before
moving to the United States with her husband Garrett in 1982. Earlier, she
worked in London as managing director of a London-based international public
relations firm and then at the military electronics firm Racal Decca. Lauren
was a dedicated mother, devoted Christian, wonderful cook and consummate
artist—sewing, drawing, crocheting, knitting, singing and writing. She was also
passionately committed to her chosen charities. As an involved parishioner at
Christ Church Grosse Pointe and Saint John's Episcopal Church in Detroit, she
completed the Bible Study Fellowship program twice, taught classes and served
as an Alpha Program leader. She was a member of the Daughters of the King
Fellowship and Episcopal Church Women. Extended family and friends will fondly
remember Lauren for her remarkable love and compassion, intellect, grace and
poise. She is survived by her husband of twenty-eight years, Garrett, children
Kate, Nick (Ashley), stepchildren Jeff (Kim), and Andy (Christine), and her
grand Matthew, and step-grandchildren Adam, Aaron and Alex. Lauren is also
survived by her parents Anthony and Patricia Shave of Surrey, England and her
father-in law, Richard Myers of Horseheads, N.Y. Visitation and funeral mass
took place in Michigan. Locally, family and friends are invited to attend her
grave side committal service on Friday April 1, 2011 at 1:00 pm in Maple Grove
Cemetery Broad St. Horseheads, NY. In Lauren's memory, donations can be made to

SHAUL Ella Louise Age 98, formerly of Arbor Manor and longtime resident of Ithaca Rd., Horseheads died Saturday, August 11, 2001 at Elcor Health Services Center. She is survived by nieces and nephews, Clinton Carpenter of New Hartford, NY, Robert Harris of Wellsburg, NY, Edith Bruce of Central Square, NY, Beatrice Southard of Erin, NY, Vene Raplee of Caton, NY, Effie Bonham of Corning, NY, Robert Shaul of Elmira, NY, Lawrence Shaul of Corning, NY, Edward Faulkner of Horseheads, NY and Richard Harris of Erin, NY; several grandnieces and grandnephews, great-grand nieces and nephews and great-great- grand nieces and nephews. Predeceasing her were her brothers and sisters, Augusta Carpenter, Jessie Harris, Benjamin Shaul Sr., Henry Shaul and an infant sister; nieces and nephews, Jessie Hall Walter Carpenter, Benjamin Harris, John Harris and Glen Harris. Ella was born January 12, 1903 in Alexandria, MN. In her earlier years she was employed at Elmira College and throughout much of her life, she was a devoted caregiver to her family. SHAW - WILLETT, Marion Ellen
Age 89 of Horseheads, NY died peacefully at the Chemung County Nursing
Facility, Thursday May 14, 2009. Ellen was born July 9, 1919 in Elmira, NY a
daughter of the late Justus and Margaret Miller Shaw. She worked as a cashier
for the Grand Union in Horseheads, NY for over 30 years. Ellen was predeceased
by her husband, Edward L. "Red" Willett on May 25, 1998. She is
survived by her children, Kenneth (Maxine) Willett of Horseheads, NY, Janet
Willett of Round Rock, TX, Linda Klahr of Spring, TX and Nancy Bottcher of
Horseheads, NY; grandchildren, Chad, Michelle, and Dayle; great grandchildren,
Aarion and Abigail; brothers; Richard (Betty) Shaw and William (Eleanor) Shaw;
sister, Barbara (Joseph) Grabowski; brother-in-law, John (Jean) Willett;
special friends, Donald Gray and Marge Blodgett and several nieces, nephews and

SHAYLOR Norman C.
Age 73 of Pine City, NY. Born on November 8, 1940, died on Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at Chemung County Nursing Facility after a 38-year battle with diabetes. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carol Lou Shaylor; sons, John (Diane) Shaylor, Randy (Paula) Shaylor, and Jeff (Wendy) Shaylor; grandchildren, Christi (Don) Wescott, Tyler, Shawn, Nicole, Adam, and Megan; and one great-grandchild, Owen Wescott; sister, Sandy (Larry) Williams; brother-in-law and sister in-law, Scott (Diane) Pedalty; along with a niece and several nephews. Norman was a retired Corrections Officer from Livingston Correctional Facility and an avid NASCAR fan; Geoff Bodine was his favorite driver. He enjoyed watching the Baltimore Orioles and was an avid NY Jets fan. He was also an Eagle Scout. Norman loved being at Browns Fork Hunting Camp with family. After retiring, he and Carol traveled full time in their RV. He loved his children and grandchildren and enjoyed attending all of their events. age 65 of Horseheads, NY died on Tuesday July 1, 2008 very unexpectedly at the
Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira, NY as the result of an accident. Wayne
was born on February 24, 1943 in Lewistown, PA the son of the late Lester and
Mary Stumpff Sheesley. Wayne was the owner and operator of Sheesley's Sewer
Service Inc. in Horseheads, NY from 1961 until he sold the business to Michael
Cowan in November of 2002 and has enjoyed his retirement. He married his wife
Nina Kochowiec Sheesley on October 5, 1963 and they would have celebrated their
45th Wedding Anniversary this year. Wayne was a long time member of the
Horseheads Elks Club; he was past president for 10 years and a current board
member of the Chemung County Rod and Gun Club and a member of The Friends of
the NRA Committee. He was pre-deceased by his parents and his sister Diana E.
Hardy. Wayne is survived by his loving wife Nina Sheesley; sons and
daughters-in-law: Floyd and Andrea Sheesley of Vermont; Dale and Teri Sheesley

Age 81, of Watkins Rd., Pine Valley, died after an extended illness on Thurs. May 17, 2012. She was born in Elkland, PA to Benjamin and Helen (Cutash) Sheppa. Lucille was predeceased by her husband, James, in 1999. Her surviving family includes her daughters and sons-in-law, Helen and David Mallow of Pine Valley, NY, Diana and Ron Gay of Branchport, NY, Alan VanGorden of Horseheads, NY; grandchildren, Brittney, MacKenzie and Jorianna Mallow and Jen, AJ and Nick VanGorden; nieces, Brenda (Vance) Steadman, Sandy (Jim) Brass and Sherry (Roy) Vargeson; and many friends, including Klyda Pierce of Elmira. after a long and courageous battle with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma Wednesday
evening, March 3, 2010. Julian was born July 18, 1942 in Elmira, NY, a son of
the late Julian and Kathryn Buckowski Sheremeta Sr. He served his country
honorably with the US Air Force during Vietnam, along with serving his
community with the Elmira Police Dept. for over 25 years. He was a member of
the Elmira PBA, American Legion Post Clarence Oliver Post #154. Besides
spending time with his family, Julian enjoyed hunting with his son, gardening,
and cooking. Julian was predeceased by his sister, Ann Young. Julian is
survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Roberta "Bobbie" Thornton

Guilderland, NY. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Jasper C.
Nicholson on April 7, 2004; and is survived by her loving son and

and Catherine Nicholson, all of Voorheesville, NY; and great-granddaughter,
Hallie Grace Nicholson. Mrs. Nicholson was deeply religious and a very active

Age 65 of Pine Valley, NY died on Tuesday September 18, 2007 very unexpectedly
after a courageous battle with Picks Disease. Ron was born on August 31, 1942
in Williamsport, PA the son of the late Harry and Marian Simpson Shetler. Ron
was raised by his grandparents Luther & Ida Simpson and was a graduate of
South Williamsport High School. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving his country
with the U.S. Navy. Ron married his wife Rita J. Brewer Shetler on January 15,
1966 in Cogan House by Pastor Ron Savitts and they celebrated their 41st
Wedding Anniversary on January 15, 2007. Ron began his working career selling
cars with his Uncle Bud in Williamsport, PA. Ron and Rita moved to the area and
he worked for Weiler Mapping in Horseheads. He served our community for 21
years as the Real Property Tax Director for Chemung County in Elmira, NY. Ron
was a member and Past President of The Horseheads Kiwanis Club where he served
on various committees including being one of "Santa's Elves" at the
Annual Christmas Party. He was also a member of the Elmira College Hockey
Booster Club. Ron was an avid fisherman, hunter, and frog hunter who loved
trout fishing with his father-in-law at Seneca Lake. He loved the New York
Rangers Hockey and was an avid NASCAR fan. Ron dedicated himself to his job and
served as an auctioneer for Chemung County Real Property and the Surplus
Auction at the Fairgrounds, the Town of Catlin Zoning Officer, an Assesor for
the Town of Veteran, and was very active in several State Committees in Albany.
Ron was a member of The American Legion Post 1612 in Big Flats and a life
member of the NRA. He always had a joke and made an impact on several people.
Ron loved his family and friends and treasured the time he spent with them
especially the family vacations at Seneca Lake and Myrtle Beach, SC. Ron is
survived by his loving and devoted wife Rita J. Brewer Shetler; loving
daughters and sons-in-law: Ronna & Eric Best of Binghamton, NY and Robin &
Jim Rockwell Jr. of Horseheads, NY; beloved granddaughters: Leah Best and Katie
Rockwell; his precious Shih-Tzu, Molly; sister and brother-in-law: Candace and
Robert Burbridge of San Jose, CA; sister-in-law: Delores Brewer of Trout Run,
PA; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of caring friends. The family

after a lengthy illness. Ed was born in Renovo, PA on June 26, 1922, the son of
Frank and Ella (Antal) Shon. He is predeceased by his wife, Blanche Ferguson
Shon in 1999, son, Gary L. Baker, brothers, William, Joseph and Thomas, Sister
Helen Shon. Ed is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Alice and William
Erickson of Elmira; sister, Agnes Shon of Elmira; daughter-in-law, Sharon Baker;
grandsons, William Erickson, Timothy (Donna) Erickson, Jeffrey (Michele)
Erickson, grandughter, Kimberly Erickson, great grandchildren, Michael J. and
Samuel Shon, Kennedy M. and Colin C., Landon and Jeffery Jr. Erickson, step

his retirement. A fondness of nature, Ed was an avid hunter and bird trainer.

15, 2006. Purla was born March 16, 1939 in Ithaca, NY the daughter of the late
Russell and Virginia Longhouse Sinn. Jean was married to her husband Pete
Curkendall for more than 45 years. She worked in many restaurants in the Elmira
area including Light's Bakery. Jean was also pre-deceased by her brothers
Albert Longhouse and Gerald Sinn as well as brothers-in-law and sister-in-law
Dick Curkendall and Bill and Jean Curkendall. She was a member of American
Legion Post #442 Auxiliary. Jean was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who
touched everyone who had the opportunity to know her. She will be dearly missed

Skebey on June 15, 2008. Bob and Katie were also predeceased by their daughter,
Sherry Skebey in 1974. He is survived by a son, Thomas Skebey of Horseheads,
NY; grandchildren, Richard Skebey of Horseheads, NY and William Skebey of
Manchester, NH; sister, Winifred Kramarick of Elmira and several nieces and

missions. He retired from the US Postal Service and from 1962-1985 he served as
the Postmaster for the Horseheads Office. He served on the Horseheads Zoning
Board of Appeals, was a member and Chairman of the Planning Board and also a
village Trustee. Bob was a dedicated member of the Horseheads Town &
Country Fire Department, past Deputy Chief, and member and Vice President of
their Board of Directors. He was also a member of Horseheads Chamber of
Commerce, Lions Club and the American Legion. Family and friends are invited to
call at the Barber Funeral Home, 413 S. Main St., Horseheads on Monday Oct. 10,
2011 from 5-8:00 pm. Officers and members of the Horseheads Town & Country
Fire Department will assemble for their Firefighter Memorial Service at 7:30
pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Patrick's Church, 604
Park Place, Elmira on Tuesday Oct. 11, 2011 at 3:00 pm the Rev. Richard
Farrell, Celebrant. Burial service with military honors will follow in Maple
Grove Cemetery. Those wishing may also remember Bob with memorials to the
Horseheads Town & Country Fire Department, 130 Gardner Rd., Horseheads, NY

SKELLY LUCILLE M. "RED" WILLIAMS
Lucille M. "Red" - Age 82 formerly of Fisherville, NY died on
Thursday August 9, 2007 in St. Pauls, NC. Lucille was born November 11, 1924 in
Elmira, NY the daughter of the late George and Nila Raymore Skelly. She married
her husband Dwight Williams who pre-deceased her on June 8, 1982. She was also
pre-deceased by her sons Edward J. Williams who passed on December 4, 1993 and
by her son Steven S. Williams who died on March 24, 1995 and by her brother
Carolus "Sonny" Skelly. Lucille was a retired switchboard operator at
The Arnot Ogden Medical Center with over 35 years of dedicated service. She
loved her family and friends and treasured the time she spent with them.
Lucille is survived by her daughters and son-in-law: Sharon Hutchings of St.
Pauls, N.C. and Judy & Rob McGregor of Mio, Michigan; adopted daughter:
Terri Turner of St. Pauls, N.C.; 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 3
great great grandchildren; sister-in-law: Donna Skelly of Bath, NY; several
nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of caring friends. Relatives and friends
are invited to call at the Lynch Funeral Home 318 West Broad Street Horseheads,
NY on Monday August 13, 2007 from 1-3 PM. Mrs. Williams' Funeral Services will
be held at the conclusion of calling hours. Lucille will be laid to rest next
to her husband and sons in Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads, NY. Published
