These people were the local populace at a particular time. The people buried here knew each other, were neighbors, relatives and school mates. They attended church together and engaged in "trade" or business. All people are listed in alphabetic order by surname at BIRTH. Women identified by a married alias only and for whom a birth surname can not be identified, are listed on the last page for the cemetery's obituaries. RADFORD Donald Maurice
Age 82 of Horseheads, NY died on Sunday December 7, 2008 at St. Joseph's
Hospital. Maurice was born February 8, 1926 in Walton, Ontario, Canada the son
of the late William and Lorna Radford. He was also pre-deceased by his brother
Frank. Maurice married his wife, Marie E. Berlinguette Radford, on May 1, 1954
and they recently celebrated their 54th Wedding Anniversary on May 1, 2008.
Maurice worked at The Mark Twain Hotel in Elmira and was a car salesman for
Clute Motor Company and later Simmons-Rockwell for several years. He enjoyed
singing professionally and was a member of The Mark Twain Baber Shop Chorus for
over 50 years. Maurice was recently honored in November for 50 years of
membership with The Mark Twain Barber Shop Chorus. Maurice loved his family and
friends and treasured the time he spent with them. Maurice is survived by his
loving and devoted wife Marie E. Berlinguette Radford; son and daughter-in-law:
Gregg A. & Sherry Radford of Elmira, NY; daughter and son-in-law: Tracey L.
& Brian Mizzoni of Corning, NY; grandchildren: Tara Radford, Gregg A.
Radford II, Ruth Decker, Michael Mizzoni, Dominic Mizzoni, and Christina
Mizzoni; great grandson: Ian; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of

RAFFERTY - SWARTZ, Doris (Rafferty)
Age 92, of Segar Rd., Horseheads, and a longtime resident of Breesport, died
after a brief illness on Saturday, February 2, 2008, surrounded by her loving
family. Doris was born August 7, 1915 in Horseheads, NY. Doris was the daughter
of the late John and Hazel (Orcutt) Rafferty. She was predeceased by her loving
husband of over 58 years, Vernon C. Swartz on September 27, 1996. She is
survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ronald R. (Bonnie) Swartz of
Horseheads, NY; and her daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn (John) Horton of
Rochester, NY; grandchildren, Tammy (Dale) Aldrich Jr., Greg (Sharon) Swartz,
Jeff Swartz, Jennifer and Amy Horton; great-grandchildren, Brandon and Casey
Swartz, Justin McCarthy and Brooke Aldrich; and several nieces and nephews.
Doris graduated from Breesport High School in 1933, where she was her senior
class president and also salutatorian of her class. She attended Elmira
Business Institute where she received a business certificate. Doris then worked
in an area law office and real estate office. She later became the postmaster
of the Breesport Post Office where she served for over 27 years. Doris was a
former member of the Methodist Church in Breesport, and was a member of the
First United Methodist Church of Horseheads, NY. The Horseheads Business and
Professional Women's Club named Doris "Woman of the Year" in 1975.
She was a member of the Breesport Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and a
charter member of the Breesport Fire Department Auxiliary. Doris and Vern were
avid and accomplished ballroom dancers and had been active with the Aragon
Dance Club for many years and are now dancing together in heaven. Those wishing
to remember Doris may do so with memorials in her name to Southern Tier Hospice
and Palliative Care, 11751 E. Corning Rd., Corning, NY 14830. Family and
friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, 413 So. Main St.,
Horseheads, NY, on Tuesday, February 5, 2008, from 2-4:00 and again from 6-8:00
p.m. Her service will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 6,
2008, at 10:00 a.m. with Mrs. Barbara Hurd, Chaplain of Hospice, officiating.

RAKER Keith A.
Keith died peacefully at Bethany Manor on Friday, February 24, 2012, with his family by his side. He was 87 years old and would have been 88 "22" on February 29 (leap year) of this year. Keith was born February 29, 1924 in Liberty, PA. He was the son of the late Russell and Margaret (Bastian) Raker. Keith graduated from Liberty High School and went on to be a skilled carpenter. He worked for 18 years with Gene Cummisky building several homes in the Horseheads area. In 1972 he went to work for Chemung County Building and Grounds remodeling several County Buildings after the Agnes Flood. He worked there until his retirement in 1991. Keith was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. The center of his life was his family. He was always delighted to spend time with his family and enjoyed spending time outdoors. He especially enjoyed helping his daughters with their home projects and built all of them beautiful furniture that will forever be kept in their homes, reminding them of his love for them. Keith always had a great sense of humor and a smile to share with everyone. His kindness will be remembered by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Esther M. (Yoder) Raker; four daughters, Linda (Edward) Moonschein of Horseheads, NY, Patricia (Richard) Earing of Williamsville, NY, Judi (Bill Driscoll) Raker of Horseheads and Lori (Robert) LaCorazza of Horseheads; also five grandchildren, Dylan (Janis) Jones, Eric Jones, Denise Moonschein, Travis Moonschein and Alicia LaCorazza; three great grandchildren, Andrea and Andrew Jones and Trisha Benjamin; brother, Robert (Margaret) Raker of Liberty, PA; sister, Margaret (Manford) Repard of CA; along with brother and sister-in-laws; and nephews and nieces. Keith was predeceased by his brothers, Glenn, John, George and William Raker; and sister, Bernadine Alexander. Special thanks to all the staff at Skill One at Bethany Manor for the care provided over the past three years. RANDALL SHIRLEY CANADA
Shirley Randall - Age 85, of DeLeon Springs, FL, died July 10, 2007. A resident
of Florida for many years, Shirley was born in Tyrone, NY, and with her husband
were also residents of Pine Valley, NY, prior to relocating to Florida. She was
predeceased by her husband, Clifford; and her son, Barry. She is survived by
her son, Van Canada of DeLeon Springs, FL; and daughter, Sherry Ammen of Lake
Oconee, GA; 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. While residing in the
area, Shirley was a member of the Horseheads Chapter of the Order of Eastern
Star and member of the First United Methodist Church in Horseheads. A Private

Age 73 of Horseheads, NY died on Friday June 22, 2012. Mr. Ray was born on January 25, 1939 in Elmira, NY the son of Sedgwick Bruce Ray and Harriet Betty Bush Ray. He was enlisted in the U.S. Navy during Peace Time. Jeffrey was a Sales Representative for Winchester Optical for 45 years. He is survived by his wife Suzanne Opdyke Ray whom he married on July 3, 1958 and they would have celebrated their 54th Wedding Anniversary next month. Also surviving are his son Jeffrey Scott Ray of Horseheads, daughters and sons-in-law: Debra and Michael White of Canton; Cheryl and Michael Whyte of Rochester; mother Harriet Betty of Horseheads, brother and sister-in-law: Terry and Merry Ray of Boston; sister and brother-in-law: Judith and Ed Clark of AL., 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and great nieces, nephews. CHARLES L. ‘LYNN’
RAYMOND age 66, was born October
31, 1952 in Elmira, NY the son of the late Charles F. and Jeanne Marie
(Sickler) Raymond; passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, November
11, 2018 after a brief illness. His son, Joseph M. Raymond, sister, Lynda C.
Wagner and brother Gene "Frutz" Raymond preceded him in death. He is
survived by his longtime girlfriend: Nancy Morrison of Elmira; loving
daughter and son-in-law: Kathy Raymond & Richard Oberther of Elmira; niece:
Danille Inman of Elmira. Charles is also survived by his canine companion:
"Lupe" and "Lupe's" buddy "Molly". "Lynn" was a supervisor for over 20 years
with Trayer Products. Charles had a great love for stereos and playing his

GENE A RAYMOND
was born June 28, 1955 in Elmira, NY the son of the late Charles Francis and
Jeanne Marie (Sickler) Raymond passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 22,
2015 at the Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, FL at the age of 60. His
sister, Lynda Wagner preceded him in death July 19, 2014. He is survived by
his brother, C. Lynn Raymond of Elmira, NY; nieces, Kathy Raymond and
Danille Inman both of Elmira, NY; great-nephew, Jadakis Brooks; great-niece,
Khamiah Inman. Gene was a graduate of Notre Dame High School class of 1973,
a 1977 graduate of St. John Fisher college receiving his Bachelor's Degree
and then became a CPA. He worked for the Berkley Group as director and tax
manager. Gene was very active in the Body of Christ Church in Fort
Lauderdale, FL. He was proud to be a member of the Save the Children's Fund
as well as many other organizations. Family and friends are invited to
attend a Memorial Service celebrating his life on Friday, September 18, 2015

RAYMOND Joseph M.
Age 29 of the ARC Home at 18 Alpine Place Horseheads, NY died very unexpectedly
at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY on Tuesday November 17, 2009.
Joseph was born March 18, 1980 in Elmira, NY the son of Charles L. Raymond and
Barbara J. Halliday Raymond. He attended The Horizon House in Elmira, NY and
worked at several sheltered workshops. Joseph loved working with electronics.
Joseph is survived by his parents Charles L. Raymond of Mechanicsburg, PA and
Barbara J. Raymond of Elmira, NY; sister: Kathy Raymond and Rick Oberther of
Elmira, NY; aunts and uncles: Gene Raymond, Linda Wagner, Bob and Sandy

Age 88, of E. Franklin St., Horseheads, died peacefully at home surrounded by
his loving family on Friday, July 23, 2010. Dick was born Aug. 16, 1921 in East
St. Louis, MO, a son of the late Harrison and Robina (Harvey) Recard. He is
survived by his wife, Patricia (Spaulding) Recard; sons and daughters, Richard

E. Richard Hough. Dick was a retired Chemical Engineer for Corning Inc. and
member and past elder of the Horseheads First Presbyterian Church. He was also
active as a past Boy Scout Leader. Dick was a Lieutenant in the US Navy. While
serving during WWII he was a flight instructor for both the Corsair and
Stearman aircraft. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral

Horseheads: died Wednesday, January 26th, 2011. Our Angel was born on October 14th, 2009 in Elmira, NY, the son of Andy Reed and Samantha Stratton. REESE – Dorothy M. Sekella, age 88, of West Elmira, NY, died on Monday, October 4, 2004. Born July 21, 1916, in Covington, PA, Dorothy was the daughter of the late John M. Reese and Bertha N. Welch. She graduated from Millerton High School in 1935. She then attended the Arnot Ogden School for Nursing, and began her career, which lasted 40 years as a registered nurse. She retired from nursing in 1981. January 8, 1942 she married Harry T. Sekella of Elmira Heights, NY. Harry died November 1998. The couple resided in West Elmira and were active members at Baldwin Street Methodist Church and then Westside Methodist Church until their deaths. Dorothy was an avid gardener and seamstress, sewing and quilting for her family, friends and church. Dorothy is survived by her son, H. Steven Sekella of Temple, PA and daughter, Susan N. Sekella and William J. Wahl of New Creek, WV; and Gretchen Schade, Justine Schade, W. H. Faron Wahl; and one great grandson, Jaden Sarangoulis. –MRS. VIOLA REINBOLD HUNSINGER, 68, of 634 Spacia Drive, Elmira, NY died
Monday Jan. 5, 1987 of home. She is survived by her husband Harry E.
Hunsinger; daughters and sons-in-law, Donna Mae and David Taylor of Elmira,
Dawn Elaine and William Dildine of Fort Pierce, FL; grandchildren, Duane

REINHART, age 63 of Elmira, NY. He was born February 14, 1951 in Elmira,
NY, son of the late Harold and Betty J. (Helm) Reinhart and passed away
Friday, January 16, 2015 at Elcor Health Services. He was predeceased by his
brothers-in-law, Michael Johnston, Fred Storch, and Joe Cleary. Pat is
survived by his wife of 43 years, Cheryl M.(Larrison) Reinhart; siblings
Michael & Jackie Reinhart, Becky Cleary and Dianna Reinhart all of Elmira,
Marty Reinhart of Phoenix, AZ, Greg and Courtney Reinhart of Wilseyville,
NY; sisters-in-law, Marion Storch of Erin and Linda Johnston of Elmira;
brother-in-law, Carl Larrison of Elmira; dear friends, Tom & Colleen Wild of
Pahrump, NV along with several nieces and nephews. Pat was a Corrections
Officer, retiring from the Elmira Correctional Facility. He enjoyed golfing,
going to casinos and the Mets and New England Patriots. Family and friends

REOME Russell B. Age 49 of Horseheads, NY went to join the Lord on Sunday January 28, 2007. Russell was born December 4, 1957 in Watertown, NY the son of the late Robert W. Reome and Jean M. LaComb Reome. Russell is survived by his siblings and their spouses: Renee (Michael) Gates of Elmira Heights, NY, Chad Reome of Liberty, NY, Todd (Carol) Reome of Horseheads, NY, and Rebecca (Brad) Blohm of Elmira, NY; nephews: R. Brad Bissell and Kyle Blohm; niece: Sarah Blohm; aunts: Evelyn Stevens and Ann Montague; several cousins and close friends who will always remember Russell as a loving and caring brother, uncle, nephews, relative, or friend. Age 57 of Robinwood Ave., Elmira Heights died unexpectedly on Thurs. Aug. 4, 2011 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Rich was born April 6, 1954 in Elmira to Ralph and Florence (Huddle) Reynolds Jr. He is survived by his daughter and son, Elizabeth Reynolds and Ricky Reynolds, with their mother, Debbie Reynolds all of Horseheads, NY; brother and sisters, Sue and Tom Radford of Horseheads, Doug and Dawn Reynolds of Miami, FL, Sharie and Ken Theetge Jr. of Cayuta, NY, special and loving companion, Heidi Vary with her children, Alyssa, Kayla, Elijah and Olivia Vary all of Elmira, NY; several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, in-laws, and many friends. Rich worked for GST BOCES in the maintenance department for over 20 years. He graduated from Horseheads High School in 1972 and served in the US Navy. Rich enjoyed baseball, coached Little League Baseball and was a diehard St. Louis Cardinals fan. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. His hobby was helping family and friends with any carpentry work they needed done. He was a loving Dad to his children, always there if you needed a helping hand. Age 81, of Woodbrook Assisted Living in Elmira and lifelong resident of
Horseheads, died Sat. July 3, 2010 after a long illness. Dave was born Nov. 2,
1928 in Canandaigua, NY, son of the late Gordon and Ruth (Davis) Ridenour. He
was predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Mary Jane Arnold Ridenour in 1994. He
is survived by his daughters, Nan Short of Stamford, NY, Kristen (Bob) Gibbons
of Elmira, NY; grandchildren, Katie (Rob) Alexander of Billerica, MA, Annie
Gibbons of Arlington, MA, Sam (Kirsten Ballowe) Doyle of Stamford, NY, Sarah
(Jay) Austin of Havelock, NC; great-grandson, Elijah Doyle; and very special
friend, longtime companion and ballroom dance partner, Helen Keating of Elmira,
NY; sister-in-law, Barbara Nelson of King of Prussia, PA; cousin, Jerri (Bruce)
Turnbull of Beaufort, SC; several nieces and nephews, and many friends and email
buddies. Dave was a Bachelor of Fine Arts graduate from Ithaca College and was
involved in broadcast radio for many years as an on-air personality and program
director. He was instrumental in establishing the area's first full time
country music station and was well known for his daily five minute Doctor
Evergreen ""country oldies"" program. Dave was also an
advertising sales representative with Chemung County Radio WQIX/WIQT in
Horseheads and worked part-time for Tate Equipment, locating Twin Tier dealers
to carry products distributed by Tate's. Throughout his radio career, Dave
formed many lasting relationships. He was honored by the Grand Ole Opry in 1963
as Mr. DJ USA and was recognized by country music's greatest stars on the stage
of the Opry. Dave was an avid NASCAR fan, and in his earlier days, an
occasional track announcer at Chemung Speedrome. Dave loved to sing. His rich
baritone voice was heard through the years in the local barbershop chorus, in
the Chancel Choir at the First United Methodist Church, and most recently at
Woodbrook Tea Time. He was a longtime member of the First United Methodist
Church in Horseheads and a member of Horseheads Elks #2297 where he served as
chaplain for many years. Dave was active with ROMEO (retired old men eating
out) who met for breakfast regularly at Curly's Chicken House. In recent years,
Dave performed with the Over The Counter Players, was very involved with the
local ballroom dance community, and served as DJ for ballroom dance sessions at
The Senior Center. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral

born on June 21, 1955 in Elmira, NY the daughter of Richard H. Riker, Sr.

School the Class of 1973. She was a House Keeper at St. Joseph's Hospital in
Elmira, NY. She was pre-deceased by her father Richard H. Riker Sr. Evadne

the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Jacque was born Nov. 16, 1921 in Elmira, NY,
the son of the late Frank and Harriett (Gruber) Riker. He was predeceased by
his wife of 49 years, Wanda in 1995. His surviving family includes his daughter
and son, Donna and Forrest Bliss of Horseheads, NY, Dana Riker and Pam
Nicholson with her son, Ryan, also of Horseheads, NY; grandchildren, Carrie Ann

Age 75 of Jupiter, FL and formerly of Horseheads, NY died on September 22,
2007. Robert was born on September 2, 1932 in Elmira, NY the son of the late
Thomas and Hazel Chaapel Ritter. Mr. Ritter was a Veteran of the Korean War
serving his country with the U.S. Army. Bobby did not just serve his country he
distinguished himself by being a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal with Valor.
He was a School Bus Driver for the Horseheads Central School District for 32
years. He also tended bar at several establishments in the Elmira area. Bobby
was pre-deceased by his parents; brothers: Thomas H. Ritter; C. Richard Ritter;
Jamie E. Ritter; and by his beloved companion Betty Wagner. Mr. Ritter is
survived by his sisters and brother-in-law: Betty and Robert Swiatowy; Mary Ann
Shaw; Shirley E. Clarke; sisters-in-law: Irene Ritter; Jacqueline Ritter and

Loudon, TN at the age of 90, after a brief illness. Marjorie was predeceased
by her parents, Otis F and Frances (Smith) Robbins, her first husband, James
Richard Dann of Horseheads, NY, her second husband, Jack B. Miller of
Knoxville, PA, and her brother Otis S. (Doris) Robbins, also of the area.
Marjorie was born in Mainesburg, PA. She is survived by her daughter and
son-in-law, Darlene and John Smolik of Lenoir City, TN, Grandson Jeff and
wife, Audrey (Meyn) Smolik, of New Orleans, LA, 3 granddaughters: Sophie
Kathleen, Lily Darlene, and Sadie Rose Smolik; Sister Grace Robbins Loomis,
many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Marjorie grew up
in a farm family, was active in 4-H, and graduated from Southside High
School, in Elmira, NY. After marrying, she was a dedicated homemaker and
Mother. Marjorie loved camping trips and boating on the Finger Lakes. Later
in life, she worked at Bethany Nursing Home, caring for her residents whom
she loved dearly. After Marjorie retired from Bethany, she relocated to
Loudon, TN with her second husband Jack to be closer to her daughter's
family. She learned to love football, and attended every event, high school
and Coast Guard Academy graduations, and his marriage to Audrey Meyn in New
Orleans. Marjorie loved to read, and as she grew older, loved to share her
faith in God and offer her thoughts on politics. Her fierce pride and love
for her family never waned. She will be missed! Family and friends are

on June 4, 1938 the son of Russell Henry Rockwell and Mary Louise Sullivan
Rockwell. Jim was pre-deceased by his parents, his daughter Debi Fortney,
his grandson Tommy Austin, his sisters Geraldine Meise and Virginia Decker
as well as his brother Thomas Rockwell and his father-in-law and
mother-in-law Albert and Olee Barkley. Jim is survived by his loving wife of

Jim enjoyed shooting skeet and was a member of the former Beaver Brook Rod
and Gun Club. He was a race car driver and enjoyed NASCAR and racing
snowmobiles and looked forward to hunting with his kids and friends and

passed away on Tuesday July 20, 2021. Jim was born on May 5, 1966 in Elmira,
NY the son of James R. and Mary Ellen Barkley Rockwell Sr. Jim was
pre-deceased by his father James R. Rockwell Sr. on February 25, 2014. He
was a member of the Electricians Union IBEW Local #139 in Elmira, NY. James
was also a member of the Horseheads Elks Lodge #2297, Horseheads Moose Club
and the Big Flats Legion Post #1612, and a Hickory House regular where he
enjoyed time with his many friends. He was very passionate about the
outdoors, spending time hunting, farming corn and pumpkins, splitting wood,
and enjoying his bonfires in the pavilion he built on his property. James is
survived by his daughter: Katie Rockwell and her companion Kyler Hurlburt of
Horseheads, NY; his mother Mary Ellen (Barkley) Rockwell; sisters and

Daniel H. Age 88 formerly of Old Sullivanville Rd. Horseheads died Saturday
January 8, 2005 at the Manor at Bethany Village. Dan was predeceased by his
wife of 43 years, Irene S. (Smith) Rodabaugh in 1981 and his son, Brent
Rodabaugh in 1999. Dan is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Charlene and
Ronald Seymour of York, SC; daughter-in-law, Amy Rodabaugh of Horseheads; four
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Dan
was born Nov. 7, 1916 the son of the late Harry O. and Emma G. (Clark)
Rodabaugh in Horseheads. The last remaining sibling from a family of ten
children, Dan was a retired driver and member of the Teamsters Union having
been employed with Sullivan Brothers Trucking in Horseheads where he retired in

Age 84, of Horseheads and longtime resident of Sullivanville, NY, died Friday,
March 6, 2009. Don was born in Elmira, NY, the son of Leslie and Verona (Brace)
Roe. He was raised in Sullivanville and graduated from Horseheads High School,
Elmira College, Mansfield University and Colgate Rochester Seminary. He is
survived by his wife, the Rev. Deborah Roe; daughters, Becky (Steve) Lewis of
Tempe, AZ, Lisa (Ron) Trumbull of Horseheads, NY; sons, Gary (Liz) Roe of
Phoenix, AZ, Leslie (Jeanette) Roe of Flagstaff, AZ, Glenn (Cynthia) Korec of
Jamesville, NY; grandchildren, Christine and Stephanie Roe, Max, Katie and Zack
Roe, Lilly Rose and Chloe Korec, Jenessa Trumbull; brother, Norman (Betty) Roe

however, his calling to the ministry led him to a long career with in the
United Methodist Conference of Churches. His appointments included, Newtown

Flats, NY, Minoa, Brown Memorial, Bethany Watertown and after his retirement in
1989 he returned to both Erin and Sullivanville for the next 12 years. He was a
charter member and past President of the Big Flats Lions Club and member of the
Horseheads Grange, and co-founder of the Walk to Emmaus in Central NY. Don
loved his family and his farming roots. He was devoted to his faith and
ministry to the many families whose lives he touched. Family and friends are

ROE – Mrs. Ella G. DeCamp, one of the most widely known and respected women of Horseheads, died unexpectedly Monday (May 1, 1933) at the home of a daughter, Mrs. John R. Higgins, Roselle, NJ. Mrs. DeCamp was the widow of Dr. Frank DeCamp and had resided at 114 Sayre St., Horseheads, many years. She was regarded by many as a social, civic and religious leader and the good she had accomplished consistently over many a long period will live down through the years to come. She was an active member of the Presbyterian Church, a past president of the Women’s Missionary Society and active in the Shakespeare Club. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Higgins, with whom she was visiting at the time of her death, and Mrs. Mabel Crane of Jamaica, Long Island; a brother, Charles Roe of Horseheads. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 3:30 PM at the home of Mrs. Higgins at Roselle and the body will be removed to Horseheads, arriving Thursday morning. Age 78 of Horseheads, NY died on Thursday June 28, 2012 at The Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira, NY. Fred was born November 15, 1933 in Elizabeth, NJ the son of the late Henry and Lenore McCloskey Rohrs. He was a graduate of The Pingry School in New Jersey and received his Bachelor's Degree in Economics from The University of Rochester. After graduation, Fred served his country with The U.S. Army from 1955-1957. Fred went on to further his education at Michigan State University where he received his Masters' Degree and Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology. He married Jan Van Duzer on May 31, 1960 and they recently celebrated their 52nd Wedding Anniversary. Dr. Rohrs was a self-employed Clinical Psychologist for 32 years and retired from The Horseheads Central School System. He was a long time member of The Retired Lions' Club, The Seneca Power Squadron, The Horseheads Elks Lodge #2297, and served for six years on the Advisory Board for the National Society DAR and as a member of The Board of Directors for Bethany Village. at the Chemung Co. Nursing Facility. She was born on Aug. 22, 1925 to the
late Byron and Mary (Sears) Ross. Jean was recently predeceased by her
husband, Theodore "Ted" Pierce Jr.; former spouse, Gordon Clark; son-in-law,
Wayne Robinson; grandson-in-law, Michael Swan and baby great grandson, Cash
Megleo. Jean is survived by her daughters, Carol Robinson of Elmira, Barbara
Clark of Horseheads; sons Thomas (Cindy) Clark and Bradley (Sue) Clark all
of Horseheads. She was the loving mother of 4 children, 12 grandchildren, 24
great grandchildren and 5 great great-grandchildren. She is also survived by
her sister, Betty Bennett and her dear cousins, Shirley Verbanic-Cochrane
and Marjery Clauson Jean was always so pleasant and patient with a cheerful
smile. She loved planning family parties that brought everyone together. She
was a member of Horseheads First United Methodist Church, 4-H Leader and a
70 year member of the Horseheads Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star where
she was past Matron and past Dist deputy. She also worked for J.C. Penny's
as a seamstress and later she enjoyed working as a CNA doing home care. The

Age 62 of 2458 Johnson Road Horseheads, New York died
on Tuesday January 26, 2010 as the result of a construction accident in
Lansing, NY. John was born July 26, 1947 in Elmira, NY the son of Milton Insley
Roy Jr. and Ruth Elizabeth Granger Roy. He was a graduate of Horseheads High
School. John owned and operated Roy Builders Inc., Brickwood Estates, Twin Tier
Gravel, and developed Garden Lane Estates. He also built 30 homes in Ithaca and
Lansing, NY and was a member of The Builders' Association. John helped many
people begin their own businesses including Larry Vanderhoff Construction and
Pam Hutcheson at The Tanning Bear. John married his wife Arlene F. Neu Roy on
February 14, 1992 and they would have celebrated their 18th Wedding Anniversary
on February 14, 2010. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Elmira,
NY. He enjoyed mowing his lawn and farming in his spare time. John was
pre-deceased by his mother, Ruth Elizabeth Granger Roy, on April 13, 2006 and
his sister-in-law, Barbara (Mrs. William) Roy. John loved his family and
friends and treasured the time he spent with them. John is survived by his

MILTON INSLEY
ROY JR. age 96 of Horseheads, NY passed away peacefully on Saturday May
31, 2014 with his loving children at his side. Milton was born July 23, 1917
in Elmira, NY the son of the late Milton Insley Roy Sr. and Anne Voigt Roy.
He graduated from Morrisville NYS of Agriculture in 1939. Mr. Roy married
his wife, Ruth Elizabeth Granger Roy, on June 30, 1943 and she pre-deceased
him after 62 years of marriage on April 13, 2006. Mr. Roy was also
pre-deceased by his son John D. Roy who passed away on January 26, 2010 as
well as his son-in-law John Stark Riggs Jr. who passed away on January 3,
2013. He was also pre-deceased by his brother Dr. William E. Roy. Mr. Roy
was a life-long dairy and chicken farmer. He owned and operated a 24-hour
egg vending machine on Sing Sing Road which was the only one in Chemung
County. Milton served on The Horseheads School District Board for nine years
including a term as President of The Board. He served on boards of numerous
farm related organizations. Mr. Roy is survived by his loving and devoted
children: William Roy (Frances Gurden) of Owosso, MI, Evalou Bell of
Glenville, NY, and Dorianne Riggs of Horseheads, NY; daughter-in-law: Arlene
Roy of Horseheads, NY; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; four

Age 93, of Catalpa Dr., Horseheads passed, away unexpectedly on Oct. 21, 2010.
Al was recently predeceased by his wife, Isabella on Aug. 5, 2009. He was born
in Elizabethtown, NJ, May 7, 1917, a son to Albert and Minnie (Eisenhower)
Rudrauff. Al is survived by several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand
nephews, and many church friends at the Community Wesleyan Church in Horseheads
where he and his wife had been devoted members. Al was retired from Artistic
Greetings in Elmira. He was a devoted member of the Community Wesleyan Church
and a veteran of WWII serving in the US Army Air Force. Al and his late wife,
Isabella, were members of and also instrumental in the establishment of the
Scottish American Society of the Southern Tier in 1977. Family and friends are

Dick was also an accomplished Middle Weight and Golden Glove Boxer. He was extremely proud to be a Marine and that pride carried throughout his life. Age 93 formerly of Horseheads, NY died on Tuesday December 7, 2010 in
Wellsville, NY. Mrs. Barnes was born on June 1, 1917 in Lockwood, NY, the
daughter of the late Ralph W. and Ethel Brown Rumsey. She married her husband
Richard F. Barnes on December 24, 1939, and they were married for 68 years
before he predeceased her on June 5, 2008. Myrtle was also pre-deceased by her
sister Doris Wilbur. Myrtle was a member of the First United Methodist Church
of Horseheads, The Horseheads Historical Society and The Garden Club. She loved

4, 2009. She was born June 20, 1930 in Elmira, NY, the daughter to the late

honor student and also, her namesake, the actor Jane Russell had nearly the
identical birth date and anniversary date. Once she wrote to Jane Russell about
her thoughts; she responded and returned a signed picture "to the other
Jane Russell," in which she always treasured. She and her husband also
enjoyed traveling to many places both here and abroad. Family and friends are

husband J.C. Rutan yesterday. Mr. & Mrs. Rutan were residents of the town
of Horseheads & later Elmira, many years. They removed to the home of one
of their sons in Philadelphia a few years ago. Both were about seventy years of
age. They are survived by four sons: Fredrick of Jacksonville, Fla.; Luther, of
Miami, Fla. Edwin of Wilmington, Del.; two daughters; Mrs. Jennie Rutan of
Chicago, & Mrs. Edwin Beardsley of Waterbury, Conn. Mrs. Rutan is also
survived by three brothers: S.E. Breese, of Minnesota; P.G. Breese, of
Horseheads, & A.J. Breese, of Port Jervise; also a sister, Mrs. J.M.
Ormiston, of Horseheads. The remains of Mr. & Mrs. Rutan will arrive in
Horseheads today & will be removed to the home of her sister, Mrs. J.M.
Ormiston, where the double funeral will be held Wednesday at 10 o’clock. The
Rev. C.E. Christian of the Horseheads Presbyterian church will officiate &
burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. - Amelia (Breese) Rutan died
February 26, 1911. James C. Rutan died February 27, 1911.
