Her main interest in life encompassed her home and family. cousins. Predeceased by husband, George in 1981; grandson, William Raub in

Of Franklin St., Elmira, died, Saturday, May 9, 2009, following an illness at
the age of 67. Born on December 20, 1941 in Florida, she resided here in Elmira
for many years. Barbara shared a big place in her heart for animals and cared
for her own as well as strays in need of love. She is survived by many loving
and caring friends including, Vicky Karski and Diane Wenck who will be received
at Caywood's Funeral Home & Gardens, 1126 Broadway, Southport on Friday,

Age 92 of Apollo Beach Florida formerly of Elmira, NY, died on Tuesday July 5, 2011 in Sun City, FL. She is survived by her beloved daughters, Barbara (Ernest) Kiemle of Red Creek, NY, Jean Huggins of Apollo Beach, FL; grandchildren, Cindy (Mark) Malchoff, William (Karen) Kiemle, David (Sandra) Kiemle, Tammy Huggins, Timothy (Wendy) Kiemle and Bart Huggins; along with 8 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Maida was predeceased by her husband L. G. Weston Brown in 2003. She worked at Remington Rand Corp. and Westinghouse Electric Corp. While at Westinghouse Maida worked on the Lunar Camera Tube Program which was used to televise pictures of mans first steps on the moon. She was chosen to greet and present an award to Astronaut, Hank Hartsfield and in return he presented her with a signed picture and letter of thank you from him. She loved cooking and feeding family and friends. Jr. of Elmira; daughters, Mary Butler of Elmira and Rebecca Butler of Elmira

nephews. Bertha was a United States Navy veteran of WW II. She loved doing
crossword puzzles, crocheting, and reading, but most of all, she loved spending

Kleiner of Elkland, PA, William C. and Vivian L. Carpenter of Monroe, MI,
Lillian D. and Alan D. Comfort of Pine City, NY, Merle and Gayle Carpenter of
Elmira, NY and Erma and Neal Corey of Elmira Heights, NY with whom she resided;
three brothers, several grandchildren; great-grandchildren and
great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Clifford G.
Carpenter Sr., in 1977 and two children. Services were held at the Barrett

Branch of the Steele Memorial Library. She is survived by her husband, Andrew;
daughters, Marda (Philip) McElhaney and Delores (John) Bogart, both of Elmira
Heights and Gloria (Dennis) Sargent of Elmira; son, Martin (Barbara) Harding of
Gillett, PA; sister, Elsie McWhorter, also of Gillett; ten grandchildren; one
great grandchild; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at the
Roberts Funeral Home in Wellsburg, NY on November 4 with the Rev. Donald Hoff

She was truly a "people person" and loved to get together with her

Age 90, formerly of East Ave., Elmira, died Thursday, August 7, 2008, at
Bethany Manor. She was predeceased by her husband, Grover in 1983; and is
survived by her children, Helen (Claude) O'Dell, Elaine (Harvey) Rosekrans,
Joann (LaVern) Mallacoccio and Edward (Cheryl) Stedge, all of Elmira, Linda
(Charles) Burge of Beaver Dams, Anna Neily and Robert Stedge, both of SC,
Grover (Debbie) Stedge of PA, Sandra (William) Keegan of FL, and Mark (Sue)
Stedge of MD. Helen has many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren and
great-great-grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J.
Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira, on Sunday, August
10th, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Her funeral and committal services will follow
at 8 p.m. Rev. Robert Adkins will officiate. Interment will take place in
Forest Lawn Memorial Park at the convenience of the family. Her family would
like to thank all the staff at Bethany Manor for all the wonderful and loving

of Pine City, NY, Kathleen and Robert Peckham of Horseheads, NY; 15
grandchildren including Winnifred Brimmer, Elmira Heights, NY 22 great-grandchildren;

Predeased by son and daughter. Violet was a former employer of Westinghouse and
