–BARBARA E. RICHER, age 88, of Elmira, NY, passed away on Monday, March 27,
2017 at Bethany Manor. She was born in La Fargeville, NY on September 2,
1928 to the late Carl and Lyvera (Burdick) Nash Sr. Barbara was predeceased
by her husband, Guy Richer, daughter, Nancy Cummings, granddaughter, Alysha
Cummings and brother, Carl Nash Jr. She is survived by her sons, Gary (Rita)
Richer and Michael (Amy Faulkner) Richer; daughters, Gayle (Bruce Benjamin)
Temple and Barbara (James) Radford; 14 grandchildren; 11
great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews. Barbara retired
from the Arnot Ogden Medical Center as a RN after many years of service.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, April 1st from 3 to 5
p.m. at the James D. Barrett Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow
there at 5 p.m. with Rev. James Radford officiating. Interment will take
place at the convenience of the family in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The

NESTER W. Robert
Age 72, of Horseheads, NY. He was born August 27, 1936 in New York, NY, son of
the late Michael and Mary (Myronik) Nester and died Tuesday, February 17, 2009,
unexpectedly at home. He was predeceased by his wife, Elece, on December 1,
2004; and is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Christopher
Paul of Elmira; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Dawn Nester of Painted
Post; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews;
and his canine companion, Amy. Bob was the owner of Nester's Automotive in
Horseheads. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral
Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Friday, February 20th, from 7
to 9 p.m. His funeral service will be held there on Saturday, February 21st, at
11 a.m. Rev. Gary Chorpenning will officiate. Committal prayers and interment
will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may

NEUBAUER June D. Baker
Age 88, of Horseheads, NY, died on Wednesday, August 24,
2011, at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. She was born on July 7, 1923 in Lopez,
PA to the late Albert and Myrtle Neubauer. June was predeceased by her husband,
Frederick Baker; and son, Don Baker. She is survived by her daughters, Dixie
(Ken) Avila of TN and Lynn (Bert) Kellogg of Horseheads; grandchildren, Jason
Baker and Kelly Spencer of Horseheads; great-grandchildren, Destiny, Lacey,
Quinlan and Brennan; along with several close friends. Family and friends are
invited to call on Monday, August 29th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the James D.

Mrs. Muriel E. (Bradt) Age 91, of Batavia, NY, formerly of the Elmira area,
died Wednesday morning, May 25, 2005, at the United Memorial Medical Center.
She was born March 11, 1914 in Clearmont, PA, daughter of the late Earl Dolan
and Clara Lettie Neuville. Mrs. Batulis was a member of the Seventh-Day
Adventist Church in Batavia and Elmira. Her greatest joy was her children and
grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lorenz C. Bradt in
1965; daughter, Marilyn Lemoncelli in 1998; and a great-grandson, Jason Bradt.
She is survived by a son, Lorenz (Barbara) Bradt of Batavia, NY; and a
daughter, Linda (Robert) Vivian of Chico, CA; eight grandchildren, Rick and
Michell Lemoncelli, both of Phoenix, AZ, Candice (Steve) Stump of Elmira, NY,
Mark (Dawn) Bradt of Attica, NY, Steve (Sandy) Bradt of Nunda, NY, Kevin (Sue) Bradt
of LeRoy, NY, Colin (Linda) Bradt of Rochester, NY, and Bryan Bradt of Batavia,
NY; along with ten great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a
1:00 p.m. Memorial Service Saturday, May 28, 2005, at the Seventh-Day Adventist
Church, 101 Richmond Ave., Batavia, NY 14020. Burial in Forest Lawn Memorial

NICKERSON was born March 27, 1928 in Lackawanna, NY and passed away
peacefully on Friday, December 19, 2014 at Elcor Health Services in
Horseheads, NY at the age of 86. His mother, Helen M. Nickerson and
grandparents, Ethelbert (Hanna) Nickerson predeceased him. He is survived by
his loving wife with whom he has spent 61 wonderful years of life and love
with, Virginia (Breese) Nickerson; beloved daughters, Susan M. Nickerson,
Diane E. (John) Russell and Sandra A. (Gordy) Manchester; adored
grandchildren, Christopher E. and John P. Russell; Alyssa J. and Amber M.
Manchester. John was a faithful communicant of St. Mary's Church. He was a
Veteran of the US Navy proudly serving his country during the Korean
Conflict on board ship in Morocco. John retired from New York Telephone
Company after 32 years of dedicated service as a lineman. Family and friends
are invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's
Church 224 Franklin Street Elmira, NY on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 10:00

NISSLER - ROBINSON, Mary E.
Age 79, died peacefully at home in Lancaster, South Carolina on Thursday, April
2, 2009, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Elmira, NY, Mary was the
daughter of the late Herman and Mary (Crowl) Nissler. Her husband of over 50
years, Donald Robinson preceded her in death in 2002. She is survived by two
sons, Gary (Constance) Robinson of Elmira, Stephen (Michelle) Robinson of
Lancaster, SC, a daughter, Diane (Thomas) LeRoy of Greenfield, NY,
grandchildren: Kyle and Ryan LeRoy, Kaleighan Robinson, Darris Crandall and
Sara Smith and great grandchildren: Paige, Hayden, Madison, Keely and Jackson.
Mary was a former worker at Hardinge Brothers and a life member of the Women's
Auxiliary South Port Fire Department. Her hobbies and special interest included
knitting and reading. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof

ERNEST Robert NOWLAN
Ernest Robert Nowlan, age 93 of Gillett, PA died on Tuesday, December 26,
2000 at home. He was born on August 7, 1907 in Gibson, PA, the son of Truman
and Ella Taylor Nowlan. Ernest retired from American Bridge in Elmira, NY after
40 years of service. He was a nondenominational Christian. He is survived
by his second wife of 17 years, Gertrude Purcell Winslow Nowlan of Gillett; son
and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Rita Nowlan of Horseheads, NY; grandsons,
Robert, Brian and Barry Nowlan; stepchildren, Sandra and David Stewart, Georgia
and Richard Schonher, Frank and Marilyn Purcell, David and Gwen Purcell and Sam
and Arline Purcell and their families, all of Gillett, PA; many
step-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sisters, Esther (Walter)
LaDieu and Lois Stoddard. His first wife of 51 years, Frances, predeceased him
in 1980. Funeral services were held at the Ballard and Lindgren Funeral Home in
Elmira Heights, NY on December 28 with burial to be in Forest Lawn Memorial

OCHAB James A. (Tim) Ochab
was born in Elmira NY on December 4, 1942 son of Mary Jane (Kastenhuber) and Alexander Ochab. He entered into his final peaceful state in God's arms early a.m. on June 11, 2013. Tim had been a resident of Arnot Ogden Medical Center's 4-D unit for 13 years and had many friends there. Tim was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his brothers and sisters: Francis (Patricia) Ochab, Carolyn (David) Kuhn, Pauline (George) Deats, David (Carol) Ochab, Mark (Carol) Ochab, all of the Horseheads area, and Patricia (Brian) Hansen of Owego; as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. He is also survived by his special friend Mary Schrock and her family. Tim had a love for hunting and fishing, playing euchre, and enjoyed a good meal. He loved to tell stories of his youth on the family farm and vacations fishing in Canada. He was a big man with a loving heart and will be greatly missed by many. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the 4-D unit staff and volunteers who cared for him. There will be a private family service at Barrett Funeral Home and his final resting place will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. –MARJORIE MARI OLDROYD ROCKWELL REV. a much beloved pastor, wife, sister and
friend went home to be with the Lord on Wed. June 25, 2014 at Arnot-Ogden
Medical Center following declining health at the age of 67. Born on May 16,
1947 in Elmira, Mari was the daughter of the late, Merton & Marjorie Hanmore
Oldroyd. She married Randy Rockwell on Dec. 27, 1991 at Riverside United
Methodist Church. A devoted Christian, Mari was the pastor of the
Sullivanville-Erin United Methodist Church's for 5 years after which she
remained active in the ministry until her death. She was very active in Home
Bureau, 4H and enjoyed camping. Surviving is her loving and devoted husband,
Randy Rockwell, Southport; sister, Barbara (Robert) Tombs, Bath; brother,
Richard (Beth) Oldroyd, Horseheads; mother-in-law, Grace Rockwell, Odessa;
brother-in-law, John (Brenda) Rockwell, Watkins Glen; nieces, Karen
(Patrick) Morrison, Alicia (Jonathan Dimmig) Tombs, and Sarah (Curtis)
Preston; nephews, Daniel Oldroyd and Thomas Rockwell; great niece, Kendra

OLDROYD Merton E. Oldroyd, age 76, of 180 Bower Rd., Elmira, died Tuesday, December 19, 1989 at the Arnot Ogden Memorial Hospital. Survived by wife, Bernice Stewart Oldroyd; children, Richard and Beth Oldroyd of Horseheads, Marjorie Oldroyd of Elmira, Barbara and Robert Tombs of Horseheads, Donald and Edith Stewart of Horseheads, Robert and Sadie Stewart of Austin, TX, Richard Stewart of Newfield, NY; several grandchildren; brothers, Lester Oldroyd and Earl Oldroyd, both of Florida, Clifford Oldroyd and Fay Oldroyd, both of Elmira. He was predeceased by his children, Ronald Stewart and Eileen Stewart Coleman and a brother, Kenneth. OLIN Floyd Eugene, Jr. Age 80, went to be with our Lord on Sunday July 17, 2005 at the Veteran's Administration Medical Center in Bath, NY. Floyd was born in Elmira, NY, June 20, 1925 to the late Floyd and Edith (Personius) Olin, Sr. He attended Southside High School in Elmira, leaving before graduating to serve with the 253rd Engineer Combat Battalion in Europe during World War II with the U.S. Army. He was honored with a High School Diploma from Southside HS on March 20, 2001, in the first graduation ceremony in Chemung County as part of New York State's Operation Recognition. In addition to his parents, Floyd is predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Norma Mae (Rafferty); two sisters, Lorna Wiltsie and Dorothy Willard; and granddaughter, Michelle Strong. He is survived by his sister, Alice Doan of Chemung, NY; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Steve Strong of Snellville, GA, and Melanie and Edson Flewelling of Surguinsville, TN; sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Norma Olin of Milford, NH, David and Norela Olin of Henrietta, NY, and Jeffrey and Marla Olin of Bath, NY; 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Floyd and Norma lived the last 50 years in Alpine, NY, except for a few years immediately following their retirement spent in Zephyrhills, FL. Floyd was retired from Schweizer Aircraft in Horseheads, NY. During the 1960s he was actively involved with the Boy Scout troop in Alpine organizing numerous camping trips, he organized a traveling Little League baseball team that involved many young guys from around Alpine, and he sang with the Mark Twain Barbershop Chorus. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons, and he actively supported the school athletic teams of his children and grandchildren. In retirement he enjoyed woodworking and leather crafting, and was an avid NASCAR fan. Floyd was a member of American Legion Post 676 of Odessa, and a member of the Odessa Baptist Church. IRENE HARRIS age 83, of Staples Rd. in Erin, passed away at home June 29,
2015. She was born in Malden, MA on Feb. 26, 1932 to Allen and Frances
(Heath) Olsen. Rose was predeceased by her husbands, Benjamin J. Harris in
1981 and more recently, Earl VanNess. Her surviving family includes sons and
daughter, Benjamin (Terri) Harris Jr. of Reading Center, NY, Wayne (Glen)
Harris of Elmira, NY, Karen (Jerry) Smith of Erin, NY, Robert Harris of Hot
Springs, AR; grandchildren, Brandy Hodge, Christy (Adam) Carpenter, Chad
Harris, Seth, Chad (Mary) Elder and Kyle Elder, Jerry (Lorri) Smith; Scott
(Liz) Smith; great-grandchildren, Lexy and Azria Billiot, Kole Hodge,
Jeffery Billiot Jr., Madison, Brenden, Abigael, Logan, Ariana, Cameron and
Kyle Elder, Keith, Cassie, and Clara Smith; brothers, Frank and Freddy

Age 85, of Horseheads and formerly of Florida and Elmira, died Monday, April
21, 2008, at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was predeceased by his wife of 62 years,
Roberta Olmstead in 2006. He is also survived by his daughters and son, Sue
(Rick) Hamilton of Elmira, NY, David "Skip" Olmstead of Elmira, NY,
and Debbie (Bill) Lepere of Beaver Dams, NY; grandchildren, John (Pam)
Jankowski, Tammy (Kevin) Viele, David (Tammy) Olmstead, Michael Olmstead,
Kristina Lepere and Peter Lepere; eight great-grandchildren; and
sisters-in-law, Mary (Robert) Simmons of Lockwood, NY, and Jackie (Jim) DiPeri
of Lakeland, FL; along with several nieces and nephews. Gordon was born Oct.
20, 1922, son to the late Gordon Olmstead and Mary Murray. He was butcher and

RICHARD E. 'OPPY' OPPENHEIM age 85 of Southport
passed away, Wed. Oct. 2, 2019 at Arnot-Ogden Medical Center following a
courageous battle with declining health. Born on Apr. 12, 1934 in Bradford,
PA; son of the late, Joseph & Lola Chappel Oppenheim. In service to his
country, Dick faithfully served in the US Army. Well known in our community,
he was the proprietor of Pennsylvania Ave. Food Market for many years. Dick
was also employed by the Elmira City School District as a mail carrier
between schools and drove school bus for 31 years. A devoted family man,
Dick's quote was "Family comes first…dollars second" and enjoyed Bingo. He
married the love of his life, Bertha M. Morgan on Sep. 30, 1961, 58 years
ago. Also surviving are their daughters, Dawn (Michael) Thomas, Elmira, NY;
and Karen (Richard) Brown, Southport, NY; grandchildren, Amanda Thomas,
Gregory Thomas, and Keileen Brown; siblings, Robert (Bernita) Oppenheim, and
Nancy (Garrett) Shuart; several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will
be received at Caywood's Funeral Home & Gardens, 1126 Broadway,
Southport/Elmira on Fri. Oct.4, 2019 between the hours of 4-6 p.m. with
funeral services at 6:15 p.m. Graveside services will take place at 10 a.m.
in Forest Lawn Memorial Park where full military honors will be accorded Mr.
Oppenheim.

ORBANAC - BRIMMER, Nancy M.
Age 73, of Elmira, NY. died surrounded by family in her home on Christmas
morning, 2007 after an extended illness. Nancy was born in Elmira, NY, April
23rd, 1934. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Bauer Orbanac.
Nancy is predeceased by her husband whom she dearly missed, William; and her
daughter, Carol Jean Brimmer. Surviving her are her loving and caring children,
Sharon (Jim) Jackson of Wrentham, MA, Michael Brimmer of Elmira, NY, Barbara
(Bruce) Grennell of Horseheads, NY, John Brimmer of Elmira, NY, Mary (Harry)
McAlinn of Elmira, NY, Kathleen Needler of Uxbridge, MA; grandchildren, Kyle,

McAlinn, Allan, Michelle Needler; and one great-granddaughter, Talia Rose

Lawn Memorial Park. Many may have known Nancy for the many years she worked for
Acme Markets. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved sewing crafts,

Marilyn M. (Orr) Hugg, 80, formerly of Lowman, NY, died
on Friday, April 9, 2010, at the Elderwood Health Care at Tioga in Waverly, NY.
Marilyn was born on February 16, 1930 in Addison, NY, daughter of the late
Melvin and Alice (Buck) Orr. She worked at the Bendix Corporation until her
retirement. She was United Methodist by faith. Marilyn is survived by her
daughters, Sandra (Dale) Brown of Troy, PA, Suzanne Hugg of California,
Kristine (Gary) Dunning of Corning, NY, Melissa (Tim) Taylor of Fernandina
Beach, FL, and Julie (Jeff) Gotschall of Wellsburg, NY, her sons, James (Kathy)
Hugg of South Carolina, Ronald Probst of New Mexico, Michael (Valerie) Hugg of
Elmira, NY, David Hugg of Florida, and Mark (Judy) Hugg of Horseheads, NY;
several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, several siblings, nieces, and
nephews. Her parents; her husband, Donald F. Hugg; and her son, Donald Probst

OSLAGER Clayton Russell Of Gillett, PA Was born May 2, 1918 in Caton, NY, the son of the late Daniel and Mildred (Tompson) Oslager died peacefully on Monday, November 27, 2006, at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center at the age of 88. Clayton married Alta Marie Reeves December 3, 1938 in Ulster, PA. Prior to her death June 28, 2001 they celebrated 62 wonderful years of life and love together. He is survived by his beloved children, Carolyn (Leland) Purvis of Horseheads, NY; Norma (Ernie) Chaapel of Gillett, PA; Daniel (Lee) Oslager also of Gillett, PA; along with 16 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren; Aunt Fanny Impson and many cousins. Clayton was employed with Trayer Products with over 30 years of dedicated service. He was a faithful member of the Coryland Presbyterian Church and the Loyal Order of the Odd Fellows in Elmira. He loved to camp, enjoyed woodworking and was a 'jack of all trades'. 55, of Elmira, NY, died on Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at home surrounded by
family and friends, following a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived
by her husband, Lewis E. Clearwater; children, Jessie Clearwater, Peter (Julie)
Clearwater, Tony (Lindsay) Clearwater, and Patrick Clearwater. Grandchildren,
Jessica, Storm, Louie, and Ellie, father, George Ottaviani, sisters, Mitch
(Mark) D'Angelo, Pat (Mike) Frame; brothers, George Ottaviani, Don (Dorine)
Ottaviani and Geno Ottaviani; mother-in-law, Jean Clearwater; several nieces
and nephews. Antoinette was predeceased by her mother, Ann Ottaviani; son,

"Dunny." Antoinette loved being with her family and friends and she
