Ralph Age 91, of Elmira, New York, died on Monday, July 25, 2005, at the
Chemung County Nursing Facility. Family and friends are invited to call on
Thursday, July 28th from 4 to 7 p.m. at the James D. Barrett Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Reverend Walter Wainwright
officiating. Interment will take place on Friday, July 29th at 11 a.m. in
Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family would like to thank the 6th floor staff
at the Chemung Nursing Facility and Cindy Evans for all the care and compassion
given to Ralph at his time of need.

died unexpectedly at Schuyler Hospital on Wednesday morning, June 11, 2008.
James was born on September 6, 1934. He is survived by his sister, Jane French
of Horseheads, NY; nephew, Larry (Lori) French of NC; nieces, Sue (Ed) O'Bryan
of MD, Lisa (Chris) Ginger of SC, Amy (Jim) Dobell of Horseheads, NY;
grandnephews and nieces, Jeremy, Kristen, Stephanie of NC, and Katie and Kenny
of MD. James lived at his cottage in the summer months on Seneca Lake since
1977 and in Melbourne, FL in the winter. James served his country with the US
Army during the years 1957 - 1963. He worked for Xerox in Rochester, NY for 20
plus years and retired to enjoy playing golf and fishing. The family will
welcome relatives and friends to Sullivan's Funeral Home, 365 E. Franklin St.,
Horseheads, NY, on Saturday, June 14, 2008, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. James'
Funeral Services will be held at the conclusion of hours with Pastor David
Sullivan. Interment will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park immediately
following. The family will provide their own flowers. Memorials contributions

KAMP -JANE K. FRENCH age 82 of Horseheads. She
was born January 16, 1938 in Elmira, NY, the daughter of the late Alvin and
Emma Jane (Brooks) Kamp and passed away peacefully at home on Saturday,
November 21, 2020. In addition to her parents Jane was predeceased by her
dear husband Kenneth in 2002, along with her brother James Kamp in 2008. She
is survived by her children, Larry (Lori) French of NC; Susan (Edward)
O'Bryan of MD; Lisa (Christopher) Ginger of SC, and Amy (Jim Dobell) French
of Horseheads, NY; five grandchildren, Jeremy, Kristin, Stephanie, Katie,
and Kenny; four great-grandchildren; along with several nieces, nephews,
cousins, and dear friends. Jane retired from Winchester Optical after 20
years as a salesperson. Her life revolved around her family; spending time
together and baking for everyone out of love. Family and friends are invited
to visit the Barber Funeral Home, 413 S. Main St. in Horseheads on Tuesday,
November 24th 2020 from 11 am to 1 pm. A private service will be held with
her family; Pastor Daniel Fife to officiate. Jane will be laid to rest with

KARAM Samuel George
Age 85 of Himrod, NY and Bradenton, FL, formerly of Elmira, NY, died in his home on Seneca Lake surrounded by his loving family Friday, August 9, 2013. Samuel was the son of the late George and Anna Karam. He was born in Elmira September 7, 1927. He married his late beloved wife Delores R. Karam (Shaieb) for 62 years. Sam is survived by his sister, Edith Miller; his six children, James (Lucy), Georgia (John James Jr.), Sandra (Armand), Mary, Samuel Jr. (Bernadette), Michael (Sherry); grandchildren, Sarah, James, Derrick (Ashley), Georgette, Jayna (Brian), Christina (Anthony), Samuel III, Michaelyn, Zachary; great grandchildren, Chase, Cara, Sophia and Caleb; and his dog "Buddy". He is also survived by the Karam, Miller, Randall, and Shaieb families. He was a proud active communicant of St. Mary's parish, United States Navy Veteran of World War II, and the Korean War, businessman of the Elmira Area for over 25 years owning Karam's Giant Market. He served on the Board of Supervisors, was an area councilmen, Legislator, and a candidate for State Assembly twice. He devoted much of his free time for the Boy Scouts of America; Serving as troop leader and the Board of Counsel from 1958 to 1964. He enjoyed his service to the community for over 30 years. –MARGARET T. BERGH a lifelong resident of the Southport community passed
away Sun. Apr. 24, 2016 at St. Joseph's Hospital SNF following declining
health at the age of 89. Born on Mar. 5, 1927 in Elmira, Margaret was the
daughter of the late, John & Julia Bessmmer Kaul. She married Kenneth A.
Bergh on Aug. 9, 1952 in Elmira Heights and he predeceased her on Dec. 9,
2011. She was an RN employed by St. Joseph's Hospital for many years until
her retirement. Margaret was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church,
the Southport Business Assoc. and AARP. She could often be seen walking
through the neighborhood with Kenny, visiting with their neighbors and
enjoyed travel. Surviving are her loving nieces and nephews. In addition to
her parents and husband, Margaret was predeceased by her brother, John
(Helen) Kaul and sister, Anna (Phil) Wolf. Family and friends will be
received at Caywood's Funeral Home & Gardens, 1126 Broadway,
Elmira/Southport on Thurs. Apr. 28, 2016 between the hours of 3-5 p.m.
Funeral services will follow the visitation at 5:15 p.m. Burial will take
place at the family's convenience in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials

KEENER Edith A. BOWMAN, 67, of Elmira, NY, died May 31, 1995 at home after an extended illness. She was born September 5, 1927 in Elmira to Charles and Alice Keener. She is survived by her children, Rose (Ray) Spearman of Wellsburg, NY, George (Mary Jo) Bowman of Elmira, Susan Bowman of Elmira, Barbar Birdsall of Zion, IL, Mary (John) Dickens of Littleton, CO, Linda Elliott (fiancé, Jim Earley) of Gillett, PA, Chief Petty Officer with the US Navy, Jim “Dee” (Ellen) Bowman of CA, Harold Bowman of Elmira; sister, Rose Mary Cox of Wellsburg, NY; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and many special friends. She was predeceased by her husband, James H. Bowman. Funeral services were held at the Barrett Funeral Home June 2 with the Rev. Larry Parker officiating and interment to be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
ROBERT J. KEIFFER of Horseheads, NY passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, July 30, 2017 at the age of 63. Bob was born on July 18, 1954 in Elmira, NY a son of the late Walter and Marceil Dwyer Keiffer. Bob is also predeceased by his brother, Thomas Keiffer. He was a graduate of Horseheads High School, class of 1973 and attended Central City Business Inst., and Husson College. He retired after 20 plus years as manager for Kwik Fill in Elmira, NY. Bob was also treasurer of a youth bowling league for several years and was a Civil War reenactment participant. Bob is survived by his wife, Helen Christian; daughter, Heather (Brandon) Farr; siblings, Christopher Keiffer, Diane (Michael) Weddle, Victoria (Timothy) Rinkerman, Melanie Keiffer, Vanessa Keiffer; nieces and nephews, Nathaniel, Kelsey, Sonja, and Timothy; four legged companion, Max and several extended family members. KELLEY –ALICE L. (KELLEY) WALMSLEY, age 81, of Ridgebury Township, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, Sept. 12, 2016. Alice was born Sept. 10, 1935 in Towanda, daughter of the late Lawrence and Mary E. (Bullock) Kelley. She attended Towanda schools and was married to George L. Walmsley. She was previously employed at Bradley Farms in Southport. Alice was a life time member of the Ridgebury Sportsman Club and the Elmira Moose. She enjoyed cross stitching in her spare time, spending time with her family and she along with her husband George were avid euchre players. Survivors include her husband, George L. Walmsley of Ridgebury; her loving children, Thomas (Laurie) Walmsley of LeRaysville, George (Sally) Walmsley of Bradford, N.Y., Robert Walmsley of Ridgebury, Dawn (Bryan) Daniel of East Smithfield, Denise (Richard) Ellis of Milan; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a brother, Morgan (Audrey) Kelley of Boyertown; several nieces, nephews and friends. Gerald C. Kelly, 61, of Lowman, NY, died Sunday, December 13, 1992 at
Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. He is survived by his wife, Dawn L. Kelley;
daughter and son-in-law, Kay Sandra and Frank Buchanan; daughter, Nancy Lee
Kelley of Elmira, NY; sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald Thomas and Elaine
Kelley of Greensboro, NC, David and Helen Kelley of Sayre, PA and Darrin and
Kathleen Kelley of Elmira, NY; three grandchildren that he raised and 15 very
special grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sisters, Jessie Bryington of
Canton, PA and Betty Austin of Fassett, PA; brothers, Milan Kelley of Lowman,
NY and Wayne Kelley of Elmira Heights. Funeral and committal services were held
at the Olthof Funeral Home in Elmira on December 16 with the Rev. William

RICHARD T. ‘DICK’ KELLEY, SR. age 72, went home to the Lord Thursday, July 7, 2005, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born August 30th, 1932, to the late Hulbert and Edith (Soffe) Kelley. He is survived by the love of his life, wife, Barbara; adoring children, Debbie (Mark) Sebura of Arkport, NY, Sherry (Bill) Spotts of Horseheads, Kathy (Don) Newson of Delaware, Richard Jr., (Brenda) of Elmira Heights, Barbie Dobson and companion, Clayton of Corning, NY, Heather (Doug) Griswold of CT; grandchildren, Jody (Larry) Butts, Nathan (Kristen) and Jonas Sebura, Beau Spotts, Cheri Newson, Ricky, Katy, Zachary, Megan and Jacob Kelley, Jennifer (Sean) Monroe, Nicholas and Alyssa Piersimoni, Brittany Kelley, Cody, Mary and Hannah Griswold; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Lucas Monroe. He is also survived by the most wonderful and loving mother-in-law, Leona Kline, who loved nothing better than to spoil her son-in-law with weekly homemade goodies. Also surviving are sisters and brothers-in-law, Bernard (Carol) Kline, Beverly (Bill) Bigg, Pat (Ed) Sassano, Carol (Ron) Mills, Tom (Stephanie) Kline, Pete Miller. He is also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews and wonderful friends. He was preceded in death by sisters, Helen Batterson, Jane Miller and Doris Kelley. He was a devoted husband and was “The Best Dad in the Whole World.” Nothing brought him more pleasure than his devoted and loving family. He loved his shop and all his friends at the Windmill. He was passionate about the Yankees and loved hunting and fishing and spending time at the cabin in the Poconos. He had a quiet, calm and gentle spirit but also had an enormous wit and great sense of humor. We were greatly blessed to have him as a husband and father and he will be forever missed. A special thank you to all the wonderful staff at the Arnot Ogden and the Faulk Cancer Center that took such loving care of our father, especially to Karyn and Dr. Byland and staff. KELLOGG Jack W. Sr.
Of Southport at the age 43 died Sunday morning, December 2, 2007 at the home of
his mother, under her loving care. Jack was born on August 27, 1964 in Troy, PA
son of Donald & Helen Watts Kellogg. Before his illness, Jack was employed
by General Revenue and Finance Corp. in Big Flats. His many interests included
NASCAR and Fishing. Jack enjoyed watching the Jacksonville Jaguars football
games but his greatest joy was time spent with his mother and children who
survive. Helen Watts Kellogg Gradwohl, Southport; children, Jack "Jay
Jay" Kellogg; Jr. Ruth Kellogg and Steven Kellogg; aunts, Virginia
(Kenneth) Bush; Betty (Stanley) Harris; Martha Wilgosz; and Gail Watts; several
nieces, nephews, cousins and many family friends. Jack was predeceased by his
father, Donald Kellogg; his paternal grandparents, Fred & Helen Kellogg and
his maternal grandparents, Ruth & John Watts and his aunt, Dorothy Evans.

–MARILYN K. ‘PUNKIE’ VONDERCHEK of Horseheads, NY passed away peacefully
surrounded by her loving family on Saturday evening, September 6, 2014 at
the age of 63. She was born on July 19, 1951, a daughter of Merrill and
Dorothy Andrus Kellogg. Marilyn is predeceased by her father, Merrill and
sister, Georgianne Thompkins. She is survived by her loving husband of 45
years, Joseph Vonderchek of Horseheads, NY; children, LuAnn (Scott) Semski
of Elmira, NY, TammyJo Vonderchek of Horseheads, NY and Kristy (Stephen) Jr.
Saunders of Asheboro, NC; grandchildren, Tyler, TJ, Dylan, Alex, Nathan,
Tanner and Brayden; mother, Dorothy Kellogg; brother, Brent Kellogg; and
several nieces, nephews and cousins. Marilyn was a secretary for Oakwood
United Methodist Church for 20 years, and later worked for Burlington Coat
Factory. She was a devoted wife, mom, and enjoyed sewing. Relatives and

KELLY - GARDINER
Lulu (Kelly) Passed on to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 20, 2001 at
the age of 80, unexpectedly while at St. Joseph's Hospital. Survived by her
daughter, Veronica (Roni) Loudenslager; sons, Gerald (Peggy) Lewis and Samuel
(Roxanne) Lewis. She also leaves behind several grandchildren, great
grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Lulu was predeceased by her
son-in-law, Joseph Loudenslager Sr. She loved to play yahtzee and cards with
family and friends. She enjoyed talking about the good ole days and she would
make us laugh with her funny ways, comments and expressions. You will be missed

KELSALL Zachary "Zack"
Of Jacksonville, FL - Age 22, formerly of Troy, PA, died very unexpectedly on
Saturday, April 4, 2009, in St. Augustine, FL. He is survived by his beloved
mother and stepfather, Tonia D. and Skip Williams of Athens, PA; father, Wayne
Kelsall of Troy, PA; grandparents, Emma Geisel of Athens, PA; Carolyn Butler of
Pine City, NY; great-grandmother, Doris Everette, also of Pine City, NY;
stepbrothers, Cory and Nathan Williams of Athens, PA; stepsister, Maggie
Williams also of Athens, PA; along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins,
including very special uncle, Mike Kelsall with Karen McGonigal of Pine City,
NY. His grandfather, James Butler; great-grandfather, James Everette;
grandfather, George Burchard predeceased him. Zack graduated from Troy High
School in 2004. He also worked at Salsa Rita's Fresh Cantina in Jacksonville,
FL for almost 2 years. He was able to make friends very easily with his
wonderful sense of humor, his brilliant smile and contagious laugh. Zack will
be best remembered for his willingness to help anyone in need, along with his
love for his family and friends. A gathering of his family and friends will
take place on Friday, April 10, 2009, at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050
Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira/Southport, NY from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Celebration of
his life will take place at the Funeral Home on Saturday, April 11, 2009, at

KELSEY James R., II "Butch" - "Two Dog"
Age 62, of Elmira, died Monday, March 2, 2009 at the Bath VA. Butch was born
July 23, 1946, a son of Marie Costley Kelsey and the late James R. Kelsey. In
addition to his mother Butch is survived by his son David A. Kelsey of Winter
Haven, FL; step-granddaughter Kerystine Asselta of Orlando, FL; brother Billy
Joe Kelsey of Corning, NY; uncle Bob Costley of Wellsburg; niece Amy Kelsey of
Elmira, nephew Mikey Kelsey of Breesport; along with many great-nieces and
great-nephews. Butch was a U.S. Army veteran serving his country for 3 years,
including 1 tour of duty in Vietnam. He also served with the Navy Seabees for
11 years and was stationed in different spots throughout the Pacific. In his
younger years Butch was an avid basketball and baseball player. Very active
with veterans organizations he was a member of the following…VFW Post #901,
Catholic War Vets, American Legion Bentley Post #443, VVA Chapter #803, Cooties
Pup Tent #35, D.A.D. @ VFW Post #901, and member and past commander of VFW Post
#6083. Butch's greatest honor was being part of the local Military Honor Guard,
being able to give fellow vets their special recognition for serving their

ELWOOD L. ‘DUTCH’ KELTZ, 86, of Elmira, NY, died Tuesday, September 29, 1998 at the Arnot Ogden Medical center. He was a World War II US Navy veteran, a Railway express clerk and a retired Elmira Postal worker. Dutch was a member of the Pennsylvania Avenue Methodist Church and Canton Masonic Lodge #415. He is survived by his beloved sister, Mary Keltz of Horseheads, NY, and several loving nieces and nephews. Dutch was predeceased by his loving wife, Hazel McDonald Keltz; three brothers, Charles Keltz, Harold “Pete” Keltz and Albert Keltz. age 98, was born March 31, 1916 Canton, PA, the daughter of the late James
and Goldie (Hedgeland) Keltz passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November
17, 2014 at the Steuben Center in Bath, NY. Her lifelong friend, Pauline
"Mike" Sawdey; brothers, Albert (Josephine) Keltz, Elmwood "Dutch" (Hazel)
Keltz, Harold "Pete" (Marge) Keltz, Charles Keltz Sr.; nephew, Lynn Keltz
preceded her in death. She is survived by her nieces, Goldie Khork of Avoca,
NY; Mary Lou Young of Bath, NY; Gloria Whitley of Rochester, NY; nephews,
James Keltz of Milton, PA; Albert Keltz of Rochester, NY; Dale Keltz of
Canton, PA; Larry Keltz of Bartlett, TN; Charles Keltz of Avoca, NY; Mike
Sawdey of Millport, NY; sister-in-law, Barbara Keltz of Bath, NY; along with
several great nieces and great nephews. For 20 + years, Mary worked for
American Dry Cleaners and then 20 + years with Diamond Dry Cleaners. She was

Age 44, of Elmira, died, Monday, March 23, 2009 at St. Joseph's Hospital after a
battle with cancer. Tina was born January 27, 1965, in Buffalo, NY, daughter of
Alice Whitford Kies and the late Benjamin J. Kies. She is survived by her
loving husband of 22 years, David F. Walker; sons, David A., and Derek B.
Walker, both at home; sisters and brother-in-law, Patricia "Patty"
Edger of Corning, Gail and Ralph McIntyre of Beaver Dams; brother and

was Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Her passion in life was dancing and listening to her
favorite music. She was a very outgoing and friendly person, and brought a

very unexpectedly on Thursday November 30, 2006. Christian was born September
17, 1975 in West Palm Beach, Florida. He loved fishing, boating, skateboarding,
and basketball. Most of all Christian loved his family and friends and
treasured every moment he spent with them and enjoying life. Christian was a
salesman at Simmons-Rockwell in Big Flats, NY. He was a friend to all and will
be greatly missed by all who were touched by his love and compassion. Christian

7, 2015 In Oneonta. She was born in Elmira, the daughter of Leo Kingsley and
Susie (Burdick) Kingsley. She married T. Russell Ewing June 28, 1947 in
Elmira. She was the vocal music teacher for the Horseheads School district
for many years. She had resided in Breesport for 67 years where she was a
long time member of the Breesport United Methodist Church and the Eastern
Star of Breesport. She is survived by her children, Elizabeth M. Watkins and
Brenda L. Ewing and Gaylord T. Ewing and wife Linda E. Ewing and several
grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband,
T. Russell Ewing and a son in law, Alexander Watkins. Visitation will be at

KIRTON born January 18, 1945, passed away November 16, 2014. A lifelong
resident of Elmira, NY. Roger was predeceased by his parents, Gordon H.
Kirton and Mildred A. Kirton Saltus and great nephew, William Henry Warrick.
He is survived by brothers, Gary Kirton (Sue), Jim Kirton (Nancy); sisters,
Jan Porter (Jim), Kristine,Grosso; nieces and nephews, Jeanine Pautz, Susie
Kirton, William Warrick, Michael Warrick, Jessica McCann, Brett Kirton,

Jaclyn Grosso. Roger worked at Thatcher Glass/Anchor Glass and retired after
39.5 years. Roger was a great lover of life. He enjoyed all sports,
especially baseball, Go Mets, and was a big fan of the Kentucky Derby. A
traveler by nature, he often went on trips and frequented the Adirondacks
many times, Blue Mountain lake being a favorite. He was always up for a card
game or a quick trip to the casino. Roger never met a person he didn't like.

KIZER -JOYCE L. WEIDEMAN of Horseheads, passed
away peacefully on her 88th birthday, Monday December 1st 2020. She was born
in Elmira on December 1, 1932, daughter of the late Fred and Flora
(Morseman) Kiser. In addition to her parents, Joyce was predeceased by her
siblings Donald Kiser Sr., Margaret Bennett, and Beverly Walker. She is
survived by her children Robert Weideman Jr. of Horseheads, Rick Weideman of
Cayuta, and Lisa (Doug) Miller of Barton; step-grandchildren Joe Miller, and
Melissa (Maura) Chmielowiec, both of Rochester, and Steven Miller of
Newburgh; siblings William Kiser, and Geraldine Pelchy, both of Horseheads;
as well as many niece and nephews. Joyce always prided herself; she retired
from Westinghouse after 30 years of faithful service. She then enjoyed
several years working for the Chemung County Library District at the
Southside and West Elmira branches. She was kind, loving, generous person
and her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who had the pleasure of
knowing her. Family and friends are invited to visit the Barber Funeral
Home, 413 S. Main St., in Horseheads on Monday, December 7th 2020 from 11 am
to 1 pm. Masks will be required along with social distancing with limited
building attendance, following the current guidelines. A private funeral
service will be held with her family; Joyce will be laid to rest in Forest

KLINE Doris L. (Kline) Turner, 93, of Lowman, NY, died on Monday, July 11, 2011 at Elderwood in Waverly, NY. She was the loving wife of the late Lester M. Turner who died on October 25, 1997. The couple married April 6, 1941 and had 56 happy years together. Doris was born on November 30, 1917 in Sayre, PA, daughter of the late Peter and Loretta (Redman) Kline. She was a graduate of Athens High School and was Christian by faith. She was a homemaker and helped on the family farm. Doris enjoyed embroidering, crafts, doing search-a-word puzzles, and reading. Doris is survived by her daughters: Karen Hilliard of Gainesville FL, and Marsha Turner of Lowman, NY, her sister Eleanor (Wendell) Chubb of Troy, PA, and several nieces and nephews. Doris was preceded by her parents, her husband Lester, her son Keith L. Turner, her two brothers: Chester and Norman Kline, and her half-sister Ellen Strunk. Age 85, of So. Greenbush Rd. in Erin, died peacefully surrounded by his loving
family on Wed., April 1, 2009, at the home of his daughter and son-in-law,
Elsie and Wayne Tyson. Randy was born Nov. 1, 1923 in McClure, PA, the son to
the late Reuben and Elsie (Crossgrove) Kline. He is survived by his loving wife
of 61 years, Olive (Wilson) Kline, whom he married Feb. 21, 1948; daughters and
sons, Ruth Combs of Horsheads, NY, Randy (Barb) Kline of Odessa, NY, Elsie
(Wayne) Tyson of Erin, NY, William (Deborah) Kline of Erin, NY, Michael (Becky)
Kline of Burleson, TX; 45 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren; 2
great-great-grandchildren; sister, Geraldine (Keamer) Straub of Beaver Springs,
PA; several nieces, nephews, neighbors, caring friends, health care providers
and caregivers, including Bonnie Tyson. Randy was predeceased by his son, J.J.
and also eight brothers and four sisters. Randy was a retired maintenance
foreman with Thatcher Glass in Elmira and also a local dairy farmer in Erin.
Randy loved his family, was and avid deer hunter, and die-hard John Deere

Steward A. Kline, 80, of Catlin Hill Road, Beaver Dams, N.Y., died Sunday, Oct.
4, 1987, at his home. He was a retired employee of American LaFrance Company
and a member of Jehovah Witnesses. Surviving are his wife, Mary; two Sons and
daughters-in-law, Charles and Doris Kline of Horseheads, N.Y. and Ronald and
Marilyn Kline of Grays Lake, Ill; one daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and
Joseph Young of Horseheads; three sisters, Anna Stumpff of Pine Valley, N.Y.,
Geraldine and Edna Straub of Middlebury Center; four brothers, Randall of Erin,
N.Y., Reubin of Horseheads, Clifford of McClure, Fred of Beavertown; nine
grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held today,
Oct. 7, at the Ballard and Lindgren Funeral Home.
THEODORE F. KLUMPE JR. 29 of Port Crane, NY died Monday, November 12, 1990 at Binghamton General Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Klumpe; 1 son, Theodore F. age 79 of Horseheads, NY, formerly of Pine City, NY. He was born March 24,
1935 in Morris Run, PA, son of the late Fred and Anna Rose (Beaderman) Knapp
and passed away Friday, October 17, 2014 at home after an extended illness.
He was predeceased by his wife of 41 years, Colleen (Bennett) Knapp in 2001,
and is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law Sandra and Dale Petroff of
Cazenovia, NY, Lori and Stephen Kankus of Marcellus, NY, and Teri and Mickey
Burdick of Horseheads; grandchildren Alexander and Nicholas Petroff, Abigail
Kankus, Cassandra and Tyler Burdick; sisters and brothers-in-law Beverly and
Dennis Sullivan of Dallas, TX, Patricia and Gary Casterline of Elmira;

KNICKERBOCKER Harry C.
A longtime Southside resident died peacefully in his home in the care of his
loving family and Southern Tier Hospice on Saturday morning, October 18, 2008
at the age of 87. Born on June 23, 1921 in Bradford, NY, Harry was the son of
the late Henry & Belle Meade Knickerbocker. In addition to his parents he
was also predeceased by his brother, Lauren. Harry was employed by Hardinge
Bros. Corp. for many years until his retirement. His interests included fishing
and hunting. Harry enjoyed working around his home, maintained a meticulous
lawn, was a woodworker who made very detailed doll houses and is remembered as
a loving and supportive family man. In serving his country he was a WWII Navy
Veteran who survived Pearl Harbor and was also member of the American Legion
Clarence Oliver Post # 154, Elmira Heights. Surviving is his beloved family,
wife and companion of 27 years, Virginia Smith Knickerbocker; Harry's children,
Michael (Sarah) Knickerbocker, Colchester, CT; Sandra Jean (James) Langstine,

SR. of Elmira Heights: age 76, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at
the Robert Packer Hospital. Glenn was born in Elmira on October 14, 1938, a
son of the late Charles Stanley and Anna (Phillips) Knott. He was also
predeceased by sisters, Virginia Seeley and Frances Rice; brother Robert
Knott. Glenn is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Fay Blakey Knott;
children Charles Stanley, II and Molly Knott of Elmira Heights with their
daughters Jamie (with fiancé Chris Reynard) and Nicole Knott; Glenn A.
Knott, Jr. of Knoxville PA with his children Andrew and Lindsey Knott;
Christine A. and David Dinus of Elmira Heights NY with their son Michael
Dinus; great grandchildren, Jacob Charles and Christian Jude Reynard;
sisters and brother-in-law, Vivian Comfort of Horseheads NY, June and Lloyd

Heights American Legion. Glenn loved the outdoors, he was an avid hunter and
fisherman. The most important part of his life was his family. He was a
loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will be truly missed.

Barbara Kramer Of Pine City, NY, cherished by her family and many friends, she
died Thursday March 10, 2005, at Arnot Ogden Medical Center, after a brief
illness. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Francis Lyman; son, Craig
Lyman; a grandson, Shane Buzzetti; a sister, Dania Brinthaupt; honorary
daughters, Kathy Frisk and Leila Tchulukhadze; an honorary granddaughter, Julie
Clearwater; an honorary great-grandson, Lewis Clearwater all of Elmira, NY. She
also leaves many in-laws, nieces and nephews. A son, Burt Lyman, predeceased
her. Barb was retired from the Chemung County Department of Social Services and
was a graduate of EFA and Elmira College. In her retirement she was an active
member of Trinity Episcopal Church, the Elmira Garden Club, senior citizens
painting program at Chapel Park, in short any activity that would allow her to
interact with the things she loved most, people and nature. She will be sorely

Age 83, of Elmira, NY and formerly from Chemung, NY, died Thursday, September
18, 2008, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Elmira. Kathleen was born on November 21,
1924 in Sloan, NY, daughter of the late Harold and Pansy (Shreve) Kramer.
Kathleen was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence in 1988. Survivors include

Alice P. Age 81, formerly of Bethany Manor, Horseheads, NY, died Saturday, June
18, 2005, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Elmira, NY. Alice was born in Elmira,
daughter of the late Robert and Louise (Miller) Krebs. Survivors include
daughters, Joan Stoquert of Sayre, PA, and Dolores (Russ) Wilcox of Elmira
Heights, NY; sister, Marjorie (Lenny) Gray; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren;
several nieces and nephews. Alice was predeceased by her husband, Adelbert in
1991; sisters, Madeline Krebs and Eleanor Miller; brother, Robert Krebs. Alice
enjoyed the outdoors especially camping with her family. She also loved cooking

KRUM Harvey Formerly of 604 Moreland Ave. Elmira went home to be with the Lord on Saturday morning, February 18, 2006 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility where he had been residing at the age of 95. Harvey was born in Neversink, NY beloved son of Benjamin & Elvira Krum. Surviving is his loving daughter and son-in-law, Barbara & William Wigsten, Millerton, PA; granddaughters, Robin (Wayne) Niles, Horseheads; Kimberly (Rich) Pettitt, Canisteo; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; a sister, Florence Peterson, NJ. Edith F. (Krumloff) Age 77, of Maplehurst Park in Horseheads, died after a
brief illness Monday, May 30, 2005, at home surrounded by her family. Edith was
born Oct. 5, 1927 in Elmira, NY, the daughter of the late Earl and Frances (Morgan)
Krumloff and raised on the family farm and what is currently the land occupied
by Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Elmira. She is survived by her loving husband,
Edward Loop with whom she married Feb. 28, 1948. Her family also include her
sister and brother-in-law, June and Jack Whitaker of Horseheads; along with
several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends and special neighbors. Edye
was a member of Women's Auxiliary of the First United Church of Christ in
Elmira. She also worked in housekeeping at both St. Joseph's' Hospital and
Elcor Nursing Facility. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barber

four great-grandchildren; brother, Glenn Kuykendall of Towanda; sister; Iva

Broschart of State College, Myrtle Hall and Alice Decker, both of Towanda,

by her husband Robert L. Brimmer, Sr. on Jan. 11, 1971. Funeral and

and was the daughter of G. and Amanda Steiner Lamberson. Mrs. Earle was a
member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and the Eastern Star Harmony
Chapter. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Theresa Earle of
Horsesheads, Phyllis and Milton Horning of Pine City, NY, Lucille Fenton of
Wyalusing, PA, Audrey Earl of Burlington, NC; six grandchildren; several

PA; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband,

Elmira: Age 75, died at his home on Friday, September 30, 2011. Dale was born in Elmira on May 8, 1936, a son of the late C. Herbert and Laura House Landon. He is also predeceased by his son Gary Landon. Dale is survived by his wife of 41 years, Elaine Cowan Landon; children, Wendy Landon Wolcott with husband Butch of Horseheads, Stacie Landon of Elmira, Robert Harris of Elmira, Vickie Harris Paul with husband Wayne of Cheyenne WY; sister Beverly Landon Mitchell with husband Rho "Buck" of Albion NY; grandchildren, Tara Dobson, Michael, Matthew and Anthony Paul, Danielle and Nicole Wolcott and Jared Turner; great grandchildren, Alijah and Giavanna Paul, and Bryson Edger; several nieces and nephews; and his canine companion Princess. Dale had worked at Thatcher Glass as a mold maker for 30 years. He then went to work for Bill's Machine Shop before retiring as a corrections officer from the Chemung County Jail. While at the jail he was known as "Pops" by both the inmates and staff. In earlier years Dale had been a member of the Naval Reserve and a volunteer fireman with the Elmira Heights Fire Department. He was an avid card player, deer hunter, NASCAR race fan, wrestling fan, and enjoyed playing the lottery scratch off tickets. Dale was also fond of Lake Bonin where he had a camper for 10 years. He was a member of the "8th Ward Brotherhood" and a former member of the Horseheads Moose Club. Dale was famous for his story telling and for making peanut brittle. His peanut brittle was a Christmastime favorite for many. Family and friends are invited to McInerny Funeral Home, corner of W. member of the National Association of Letter Carriers. Survivors include his

Age 88, of Westfield, PA, was born September 18, 1918 in Knoxville, PA, the son
of the late Romer and Frances Lincoln. died on Tuesday, April 10, 2007,
peacefully at the Chemung County Nursing Facility. Robert is predeceased by his
loving wife, Annabelle, who died November 17th, 2004 and his granddaughter,
Heather Allen. He is survived by his sons, Richard L. (Sally) Lincoln of Pine
City, NY, L. Dean (Vicki) Lincoln of PA, Bruce (Carol) Lincoln of Elmira, NY,
Earl Lincoln of Clifton Springs, NY, Robert Lincoln, Jr. of Elmira, NY;

seven great-grandchildren. Robert was retired from Swift Glass. He was a proud
Army veteran during the European Theater of World War II. After his retirement
Robert and Annabelle loved attending major league baseball games up and down

Age 69 of 269 West 13th Street Elmira Heights, NY died on Sunday November 11,
2007 after a courageous battle with cancer. Hilda was born June 1, 1938 in
Elmira, NY the daughter of the late Fred and Gladys Bertha Jayne Lisk Jr. She
married her husband, Dale Barnes Locke, on June 20, 1958 and they recently
celebrated their 49th Wedding Anniversary on June 20, 2007. Hilda loved
crocheting and above all she loved her family and friends and cherished the
time she spent with them. She was pre-deceased by her parents and by her son Charles
F. Locke who died on January 17, 1959. Hilda is survived by her husband Dale

age 80 of Horseheads, NY passed away on Tuesday July 4, 2017. He was born in
Elmira, NY on December 10, 1936 the son of the late Vincent and Winifred
Youngs Little. Mr. Little was a Veteran and served his country with the US
Marine Corp. He married his wife Diana Palmer Little and they spent 41
wonderful years together. He was employed by RKB Enterprises of Elmira, NY
as a Tractor Trailer Driver. Lacy was a member of the Elmira Heights
American Legion and the Montour Falls Yacht Club. He was pre-deceased by his
son Vincent Little and his step son Scott Palmer Sr. Mr. Little is survived
by his loving and devoted wife Diana Little; daughters: Impala Messick and

Of Elmira, NY - Age 76, died after a lengthy battle with cancer on Thursday,
December 11, 2008, at El Cor Heath Services Horseheads, NY. She was predeceased
by her husband, Marvin (Barney) Johns, in 1975. Born in Elmira, on October 12,
1931, she was the only child of the late Jane (Yeager) and William Lofstrom.
Shirley is survived by sons, Marvin "Tracy" Johns of Lynwood, WA,
Jeffrey Scott (Andrea) Johns; grandchildren, Erik and Heather Johns, all of
Hollis, NH; cousins, Raymond Lofstrom, Pine Valley, NY, Joanne Farmer, Dayton,
OH, Gail Lee, Williamsburg, VA, and Richard Roberts, Georgetown, TX. Shirley
was also fortunate to have a devoted friend and caregiver, Gail H. Dwyer; as
well as close friends, Priscilla (Percy) Keefe and Judy Saxton. She attended
local schools, graduating from Elmira Free Academy in 1949. For many years she
was employed at the Elmira Bowling Center, retiring from the Steele Memorial
Library as Administrative Assistant after 19 ½ years. She was a longstanding
member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Past President and member, Fraternal Order
of Eagles Auxiliary #941 Elmira, and American Legion Auxiliary Post #154,
Elmira Heights. Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home,

Elsie "Sally" Age 87, formerly of Lounsberry Ave., Elmira Heights,
died Saturday, January 21, 2006 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility. She was
born December 16, 1918 in Meshoppen, PA, the daughter of Arthur and Virginia
Northrup Loomis. She married James W. Grover on November 24, 1935 in Elmira. He
predeceased her on January 31, 1999. She was a former employee at Eclipse in
Elmira Heights and attended Oakwood United Methodist Church. Survived by a son
and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Sandra Grover of Horseheads, NY; a daughter,
Virginia Gross of Hopewell, VA; a brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Allyn
Grist of Horseheads, NY; a sister, Marjorie Campbell of Elmira, NY; three
grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was
predeceased by her parents; and a brother, Cecil Loomis. At Sally's request
there will be no services. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Elmira.

SHIRLEY MAY LORD, age 79, went to be with her Lord on Monday, July 25, 2016. She was born May 14, 1937 in Elmira, NY, the daughter of the late Gordon and Pauline (Dickinson) Lord. A lifelong resident, Shirley graduated from Southside High School in 1955, received her bachelor's degree from Hartwick College in 1959 with a mathematics degree. Later on she received her master's degree from SUNY Cortland. Shirley taught math for 35 years at Elmira Free Academy. During her teaching career she participated in several professional committees including chairperson of the mathematics department. Shirley retired in 1994 to pursue her love of singing. Besides being a member of the church choir, she joined the Chrystal Chords, a women's barbershop singing organization where she traveled and performed; helping her group win several awards. She believed in giving back to her community. Shirley joined the retired teacher organization, Delta Kappa Gamma (professional women's organization), the food bank of Elmira, Arnot Ogden Medical Center volunteer organization, St. Joseph's Hospital volunteer programs and numerous other community groups. Shirley was a lifetime active member of the Hedding-Christ's-New Beginnings United Methodist Church. Over the years she was a member of the choir, chairperson of the finance committee, Board of Trustee, served on the administrative council, nurture committee and the UMW (United Methodist Women's). Shirley was a loving, caring spirit that will be missed by her family and many friends. As many know, she beloved in education and was generous with her time and finances to enrich the lives in her family, friends and students. Shirley is survived by her sister, Lois (Gene) Norris of Bemus Point, NY; nephew, Gordon (Charlotte) Norris of Falconer, NY; niece, Linda (Jonathon) Pettit of Delaware, OH; three grandnephews, Zachary, Darren and Brandon Norris; two grandnieces, Erica and Michelle Pettit. A longtime resident of the South Creek Community, Wellsburg, NY died peacefully Monday evening, January 29, 2007 under the care of the Chemung County Nursing Facility at the age of 81. Born on November 29, 1925 in Erdenheim, PA, son of Charles P. & Sarah Woodley Lorenson. He married Edna Louise Warren on May 11, 1946 in Alba, PA. A WWII Navy Veteran, Charlie served his county during WWII. A hard working gentleman, Charlie was employed by Thatcher Glass, Elmira Heights for 25 years. An outdoorsmen, his many interest included hunting, walking his land and especially being with his family. He was a charter member of the South Creek Evangelical Church and worshipped there for many years. LOWMAN James L. Devoted husband, father and grandfather Age 70 of Elmira, died Friday, October 6, 2006 at the Robert Packer Hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Jim was born in Elmira, a son of the late Lyman Lowman and Adeline Lowman Cartarius. He was preceded in death by brothers George and Lester Lowman. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Phyllis Hughes Lowman; daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle E. and Bruce Kelly, Melanie R. Lowman, Marlene M. and Robert Giammichele all of Elmira; grandchildren, Jamie, Jillian, Jess, and Nathan; great granddaughter Hannah; brothers and sister-in-law, Richard and Muriel Lowman of Cocoa FL and Lewis Lowman of Portsmouth VA; sister and brother-in-law, Lorraine and Frank Barilla of Oswego NY; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Kenneth Hughes, Eldon and Maggie Hughes all of Elmira, Glenora Gunderman of Wellsburg NY, Harriet Elston, Shirley and Gerald May, Janice Isaacs all of North Chemung NY, Beverly and Edgar Harland of Chapel Hill NC, Marilyn and Tom Karski of Elmira; also surviving are many very special nieces, nephews and a host of good friends. Jim was a 1954 graduate of Southside High School. Upon graduation he enlisted in the US Army. Several years after leaving the Army Jim joined the Army Reserve before switching to the Navy Reserve. At the age of 60 Jim retired from his military career with 20 years total service. Jim was a graduate of Corning Community College and he was the first editor of the school newspaper. He was a longtime journalist with the Elmira Star Gazette holding several positions with the newspaper. He retired from the Star Gazette in 1994 with 32 years of service. With his retirements from the military and the newspaper behind him Jim started a third career when he was elected as the 13th District Chemung County Legislator in 1994. That position led him to serve his community on several other community boards. Jim was the current chairman of the Chemung County Health and Human Services Committee. He was a member of Southside Alliance Christian & Missionary Church. Jim cared deeply about his faith and was involved with many local Christian ministries. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to golf, hunt, and especially enjoyed the time he could spend with his grandchildren. He was a longtime member of the Whitetail Buck Hunters Association. Well known for his cooking, Jim was famous for feeding large crowds and for his homemade pizza parties. Friends are invited to call at McInerny Funeral Home, corner of W. Water and Walnut Streets, on Sunday, October 8, 2006 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm and from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. BENJAMIN LEE LOYD of Horseheads, NY passed
away on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at the age of 76. Ben was born January
17, 1942 in Canton, PA, a son of the late Gordon W. and Alberta Heath Lloyd.
Ben is preceded in death by his son, Craig; sister, Sue Bristol; brothers,
Robert Scott Lloyd and Gordon Lloyd; brother-in-law, Walter "Skip" Edgerton.
He is survived by his daughter, Heather Lloyd; granddaughter, Ashlee Storm;
former wife, Claudia (David) Dixon; brothers, Richard (Maralyn) Lloyd, and
Jeffery Loyd; sister, Linda Edgerton; and several nieces, nephews and
cousins. Ben retired after 30 years as a sixth grade teacher in Big Flats
Elementary. He was well know and highly respected by his peers. Ben served
his country honorably with the US Army as a Medical Corpsman from 1961-1964.
